🧠 Pro Insight, College Impact: Terance Mann Joins FSU Hoops as Assistant GM

FSU legend turned NBA vet Terance Mann is officially giving back — in a very hands-on way. 💼

According to a new Front Office Sports feature, Mann has accepted a unique Assistant General Manager role with Florida State men’s basketball under new head coach Luke Loucks — all while continuing his NBA season with the Atlanta Hawks. 🏀

🧠 What Mann Is Doing: • Scouting transfer portal targets daily
• Reviewing film and giving evals to Loucks and the staff
• In the staff group chat (!), shaping the 2025–26 roster
• Helping with recruiting, alumni relations, and NIL strategy

💬 Mann:
“I’m just trying to see how [players] can help us win… Luke wants to play a pro-style game, and I know those fits.”

💸 NIL Real Talk:
• Mann plans to donate to FSU’s NIL efforts
• On portal prices: “You have kids averaging 6 points asking for $500K… You’re not that good.”

🏛️ The Role: • Unpaid, not formally employed by FSU
• Inspired by fellow Hawk Trae Young, who holds the same title for Oklahoma
• Reflects deep alumni ties and program passion

📍 Bottom Line:
Mann is giving FSU a front office advantage — with NBA perspective, player credibility, and real recruiting firepower.

🔥 “I Want to Feel Florida State Football”: Norvell’s Challenge Ignites Ferocious Response

Tuesday was a wake-up call.
Thursday brought the fire.
Friday? A warzone in cleats. 🧨

Mike Norvell doesn’t want lip service. He wants grit. He wants edge. He wants a Florida State football team that brings the heat from the first whistle to the last rep — not just in moments, but as its identity.

And this week, he finally saw it.

🗣️ Tuesday’s Message: Find the Edge — Or Get Left Behind

After a lackluster practice on Tuesday, Norvell didn’t hold back. He called it out — no edge, no juice, not the standard.

So what did the team do?

They responded. And they responded LOUD.

"We did not lack intensity today," Norvell said Thursday with a grin. "Sometimes, we've got to control the emotion. But the response? Hell yes." 💥

Skirmishes broke out. Players got in each other’s faces. Fights? A few. OTIs (Opportunities to Improve)? Plenty.

But Norvell didn’t shy away — he embraced it.

“I want to see guys fight to win. If it gets chippy, so be it… I want it all.”

🛑 Friday’s Practice: Controlled Chaos — and a Statement

Friday’s session was shorter, but it packed a punch. Nearly 20 goal-line reps. Full-pads. Back-and-forth slugfest.

The result?

"That was a good day," Norvell said. “Mindset, approach, physicality, toughness — it was one of those days we needed.”

🚩 Goal-line format:
• Offense scored a point for TDs
• Defense scored a point for stops
• Final score? Defense barely edged it out — and Norvell loved every second.

“Tough runs. Big hits. Guys grinding. Pushing. That ball gets to the one-inch line — which way does it push? That’s what you want to see.”

💪 Who Showed Up?

🔥 Squirrel White:
Back from injury and proving he’s more than a speedster. Norvell raved about his physical perimeter block Thursday — a standout moment for the SEC transfer.

🔥 Jayvan Boggs:
The freshman wideout made three consecutive grabs on Tuesday and built momentum all week. “Still learning, but definitely been a bright spot,” Norvell said.

🔥 Roydell Williams & Caziah Holmes:
These backs refused to go down in Friday’s goal-line drills. No green jersey safety net. Just punishment and power.

🔥 Jonathan Daniels, Andre’ Otto, Richie Leonard:
Key reps up front as the offensive line fights through injuries. Daniels, a redshirt freshman, is earning snaps with the 1s.

🔥 Deante McCray & Darrell Jackson:
McCray brought the fire post-practice. Jackson? “The voice of the DL room.” A major leadership evolution.

🔥 The Desir Twins & Amaree Williams:
Pittman gave big-time props to the defensive youth. These guys aren’t just filling gaps — they’re standing out.

📈 The Culture Is Back — and It Feels Real

Norvell’s not interested in pretty plays. He’s chasing something deeper:

“You can take all the nice things you want to draw up… but if you don’t chase the ball, don’t bring strike, don’t knock people back… then it’s just noise. I want to feel Florida State football.”

This week proved something: They heard him. And they’re responding.

“You’ve got three more opportunities to put our stamp on the spring,” Norvell said. “Make them count.”

🔜 What’s Next?

The team gets a well-earned weekend off, then returns for the final three practices of spring:

📅 Next Practice: Tuesday (Day 13)
📍 Focus: Finishing strong, red-zone execution, position battles
💡 Key Theme: Control the chaos, sharpen the edge, build the culture

🧨 "It’s not about hype. It’s not about talk. It’s about feel… And right now, I feel us coming together." – Mike Norvell
