The No. 10 Florida State baseball team showcased their prowess in an 11-7 series win against Miami this Friday at Dick Howser Stadium, demonstrating their offensive and defensive skills.
Key Performances:
James Tibbs led the charge, going 2-for-3 with a crucial two-run home run and single, amassing four RBIs. His consistent performance this season includes leading the country with 54 RBIs.
Brennen Oxford stepped up from the bullpen, pitching a career-high 4.2 innings with one run allowed and four strikeouts, improving his record to 2-0.

Opening Clash Against Cal Poly: The No. 4 FSU team started the tournament against No. 6 Cal Poly. Despite losing the first court, the Seminoles rallied back to secure wins on courts four and three. Key victories by Kaeli Crews and Maddie Trusty, followed by a thrilling three-set win by Raelyn White and Audrey Koenig, showcased the teamβs resilience.
Tough Battle with UCLA: FSU faced a strong challenge from No. 1 UCLA, narrowly losing 3-2. White and Koenig continued their excellent form with a straight-set win on court three, while Makenna Wolfe and Kaileigh Truslow clinched another point for FSU on court four.
Up Next: The Seminoles wrap up the tournament against No. 10 LMU on Saturday. This final match marks the end of the regular season, setting the stage for a strong finish in the tournament.

The Florida State outdoor track and field teams had a dynamic start at the Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville. Tyra Wilson was a highlight, securing the fourth-fastest time in FSU history in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a blazing 56.74, finishing seventh in a highly competitive race.
Field Events Breakthroughs:
Jordan Turner excelled in the men's long jump, clinching third with a season-best 7.87m, while Jeremiah Davis also shone, achieving a regional qualifying mark of 7.69m on his outdoor debut.
Sprints and More:
The men's 200m saw Ismael Kone, Guinove Joanus, and Neo Mosebi putting up strong performances, with times just over 21 seconds.
Dajaz DeFrand and Oludoyin Soremi represented FSU in the women's 200m, with DeFrand placing eighth.

Legacy of Leadership: Jermaine Johnson, once a star defensive end for FSU and now a Pro Bowl player in the NFL, made a significant impact in his sole season with the Seminoles.
His legacy continues as his younger brother, Jeremiah Johnson, steps into the FSU football program as a walk-on.
Continuing the Tradition: Jeremiah, a linebacker from Quincy's Robert F. Munroe Day School near Tallahassee, has accepted a preferred walk-on spot with the Seminoles.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 215 pounds, he is poised to join the team this summer, adding to the Johnson family's storied history with FSU football.
