No. 9 Florida State Baseball (28–7, 11–4 ACC) capped off a dominant weekend with a 4–2 win over No. 25 Virginia Tech — completing the sweep and continuing a pitching masterclass that defined the entire series.
🧱 The Recipe (Again): For the third straight game, the Noles used just two pitchers — and once again, it worked like magic.
📍 Game 3 Highlights: • Wes Mendes: 5.1 IP | 1 R | 3 BB | 4 K — bounced back in a big way after recent struggles • Peyton Prescott: 3.2 IP | 1 R | 0 BB | 2 K — clutch closer to slam the door • 0 bullpen chaos, 0 panic — just execution
💥 At the Plate: • ⭐ Chase Williams: 2 H | RBI triple + sac fly • 💨 Hunter Carns: 2 H + scored on a wild pitch • 🧱 Brody DeLamielleure: Sac fly RBI • Max Williams & Gage Harrelson: 2 hits apiece
⚠️ Fun Stat: Virginia Tech entered the series averaging 8.2 runs per game. FSU held them to four total runs over 27 innings using just six total pitchers. That’s Volini, Charles, Arnold, Abraham, Mendes, and Prescott — a cold-blooded six-pack of domination.
📈 Weekend Recap: • ERA: 1.33 • K: 26 • Hits allowed: 17 • Walks: 8 • Errors: Just one (Lodise on Sunday)
🔁 What a turnaround: Just last week, FSU gave up 34 runs in a series vs. Wake and lost to UF. This weekend? Statement made.
📍 What’s Next: • 🆚 South Florida — Tuesday, 6 PM ET (Home) • 🆚 Virginia (3-game set) — Starts Thursday
👉 More on Mendes’ rebound, Prescott’s closer moment, and how FSU’s six-man staff silenced the Hokies — read the full recap here.

🔥 Jahni’s Day (!!!): • 3-for-3 | HR | Grand Slam | 6 RBI • 6th and 7th homers of the season • Part of an 11-run 5th inning where 15 batters came to the plate

🧱 “They Belong”: Norvell High on DL Transfers Diggs & McCray
Florida State’s defensive line reload continues — and two of the newest additions are already drawing strong praise from the staff. 💥
Head coach Mike Norvell and DL coach Terrance Knighton are both bullish on Deamontae Diggs (Coastal Carolina) and Deante McCray (Western Kentucky), a pair of transfers who’ve brought versatility, toughness, and upside into a retooled defensive front.
🔍 Deamontae Diggs – Versatile Weapon With Untapped Potential
6’5”, 260 lbs | Can play Jack, field-side DE, even interior in certain sets
Former Youngstown State standout who played all of 2023 at Coastal with a club on his hand — and still racked up 34 tackles, 6.5 TFL, and 5 sacks
Norvell: “He’s athletic. He can run. He’s really coming into his own.”
Knighton: “You watch the film — he played everywhere. Those are the guys we want.”
Diggs has flashed elite traits this spring and looks like a high-ceiling piece who could impact early if the consistency clicks.
🧱 Deante McCray – Multi-Tool Lineman Built for the Long Haul
6’4”, 274 lbs | Brings a physical presence and positional flexibility (DE, nose, Jack)
Logged 59 tackles and a 75.4 PFF grade at WKU in 2023
Norvell: “Big, strong, made some real strides these last few weeks.”
While Diggs may be a one-year splash, McCray is viewed as a developmental building block with the physical tools to be a long-term contributor. Both are already making their presence felt in practice — and both are trending toward heavy rotational or even starter-level reps this fall.
🎯 Bottom Line: The standard on the D-line isn’t just being met — it’s being raised. And with two Group of Five jumpers proving they can hang in the trenches, FSU's transfer evaluations are once again showing early returns.
📉 Spring Transfer Watch: Who Could Be on the Move?
The spring transfer window opens April 16 — and Florida State’s roster math is getting tight. 📊
With 110 projected players on the post-spring roster (and the looming 105-player cap tied to the House settlement), some tough decisions — or exits — are likely on the way. Even if a temporary waiver is granted, attrition is expected as FSU installs two new schemes and builds from a 2-win campaign.
So… who’s most likely to explore the portal?
🔁 Position Groups to Watch:
WR Room Overload (13+ bodies)
• 🔥 Locks: Squirrel White, Duce Robinson
• 👀 Watchlist: Hykeem Williams, Lawayne McCoy — both missed time with injuries, and other schools may come calling with NIL + playing time pitches
RB Shakeout Incoming?
• Jaylin Lucas and Roydell Williams have separated.
• With freshman phenom Ousmane Kromah coming in, that leaves Caziah Holmes, Kam Davis, and Sam Singleton in limbo. Expect interest — and questions — from elsewhere.
OL Math Doesn’t Add Up (19 players)
• New OL coach → New evaluations.
• Second-years like Tye Hylton & Jayden Todd and veterans like Bryson Estes & TJ Ferguson (coming off injury) could face tough depth chart realities.
Edge / IDL Movement?
• Jaden Jones and Aaron Hester haven’t emerged despite opportunities.
• On the interior, Jamorie Flagg and Tyeland Coleman are buried behind a strong core — and might seek clearer paths.
DBs in Flux
• 🧩 Charles Lester III, Cai Bates, Jamari Howard, Ricky Knight: Four blue-chip 2023 signees, but freshman Shamar Arnoux might already be ahead.
• 🧠 Conrad Hussey: Talented, but limited by injury + inconsistency. Could draw interest.
• 👀 Wild cards: Shyheim Brown and Edwin Joseph — both have upside, both are being watched by portal suitors.
📍 Bottom Line: FSU may lose a few talented names — but it’s by design. This roster is consolidating around a new identity, and the spring window is the final sorting hat.
Safe, effective pain relief—without the side effects.

Chronic pain affects about 51 million Americans, with half of them under 45—leading active lives, managing demanding jobs, and raising young families. For them, pain often defines their future. Older individuals struggle with basic tasks like bathing and cooking. Opioids, steroids, and over-the-counter painkillers come with harmful side effects from long-term use. Nápreva provides rapid, effective relief. Users sleep better and experience less stress and anxiety. Made from plant terpenes, clinical studies show Nápreva may be more effective than traditional pain medications—without the side effects.
And that’s a wrap!
That’s a wrap on your Monday rundown.
This week, the vibes are climbing — with South Florida coming to Howser, Senior Weekend on deck at the Plex, and the spring portal opening like a double-door saloon in the Wild West.
We'll keep the Briefs coming. You keep showing up like Jahni Kerr in a 3–0 count.
Until next time —
Stay locked. Stay loud. Stay Legendary.
Go Noles. 🍢
