No. 10 Florida State Softball (34–5, 9–0 ACC) delivered a statement on Wednesday night, shutting out No. 2 Florida (33–6, 6–3 SEC) in front of a sold-out JoAnne Graf Field crowd, 4–0.
🔥 It was the highest-ranked regular season win for FSU since beating No. 2 Arizona in 2021 — and the Noles have now won 7 of the last 8 vs. UF.
🎯 How it happened:
Ashtyn Danley wriggled out of a bases-loaded jam in the 1st, then delivered 4 scoreless innings to improve to 7–1 on the year.
Isa Torres led off with a single, and Jaysoni Beachum reached on an error to set the stage.
Jahni Kerr crushed a 3-run bomb on a 3–2 count — then added a solo shot later for her first career multi-HR game. She's now hitting .454 in 7 career games vs. the Gators. 🧨
⚡ Defense wins big, too:
Hallie Wacaser made a diving grab and fired to second for a double play to erase UF’s best scoring chance.
Annabelle Widra came in with two on in the 5th and was lights out: 8 up, 8 down on just 23 pitches. Her first save of the season? A gem.
📈 Noles’ dominance continues:
Win streak hits 14 games — second-longest in the nation.
Outscoring opponents 209–50 over that stretch.
34–5 start is best since 2022.
📍 Next Up: FSU hosts Virginia for a three-game set starting Friday at 6 PM (ACCNX).
⛳️ Ting Rises to No. 2 in the World, Gives Noles Historic 1–2 WAGR Punch

It’s official: Florida State Women’s Golf now holds the top two amateur players in the world. 🔥
🌍 Junior All-American Mirabel Ting jumped to No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, joining No. 1 Lottie Woad to give the Seminoles an unprecedented grip on the global leaderboard.
📈 WAGR Snapshot:
Woad: No. 1 for 34 consecutive weeks, 39 of the last 41 overall
Ting: Top 5 for 18 straight weeks, now up to No. 2 as of April 2
Both stars are currently teeing it up at the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur, competing in a stacked field of 72 elite players — including 49 of the top 50 in the world.
🎙️ Coach Amy Bond: “It’s exciting for our program to have the top two ranked players in the world.”
📍 Next Up: FSU heads to the ACC Championship at Sedgefield on April 16.
🏀 Latson Named to Wooden Award All-America Team
Florida State superstar Ta’Niya Latson has added another elite accolade to her résumé — earning a spot on the 2024–25 John R. Wooden Award Women’s All-America Team, placing her among the top 10 players in the country. 🌟
🔥 Why it matters:
Nation’s leading scorer: 25.2 PPG
FSU single-season scoring record: 731 points
Fastest to 2,000 career points in FSU hoops history
3x All-ACC First Team + AP Second Team All-American
Latson is now a finalist for the Wooden Award National Player of the Year, with more honors likely still to come.
⛳ Woad Fires 65, Sits in 2nd at Augusta National Women’s Amateur
Lottie Woad is locked in. 🔒🔥
The defending ANWA champion carded eight birdies and a 7-under 65 in Wednesday’s opening round at Champions Retreat — putting her just two shots off the lead heading into Thursday’s second round.
💬 “Even though I’m world No. 1, anybody can beat you… I’m just focused on playing really good golf,” Woad told Golf Channel.
📈 Round 1 Highlights: • 4️⃣ birdies on both the front and back nine
• 65 = lowest round of her ANWA career
• She’s now gone under par in 6 straight ANWA rounds
🏆 A repeat title would make Woad the first 2-time winner in ANWA history.
Meanwhile, Mirabel Ting opened with a 4-over 76 and will look to rally in Round 2. She tees off Thursday at 8:00 AM ET, while Woad follows at 8:23 AM ET.

The Loucks Era just landed another key piece. 👀
Clemson transfer forward Chauncey Wiggins committed to Florida State on Wednesday, becoming the third transfer to join the Seminoles this offseason.
🗣️ “Go ‘Noles!” said Wiggins, who made 97 appearances in three seasons with the Tigers.
📊 Last season:
• 8.3 PPG | 2.9 RPG | 36.5% from 3 | 80.6% FT
• 6’10.5” frame with serious stretch-four potential
Why FSU? It’s all about development.
🧠 Wiggins cited Loucks’ NBA background and player-first pitch:
“He’s developed guys like Curry, KD, Fox… I want to work, get better, and take a big step.”
FSU now has a trio of versatile, long, skilled additions to build around — and the new culture is taking shape.

With injuries thinning Florida State’s wide receiver rotation, spring reps are up for grabs — and Jalen Brown is starting to capitalize. The third-year receiver (and former LSU transfer) is “growing up,” per Mike Norvell, who praised Brown for both his play with and without the ball. 👀
💬 “I’m proud of him,” Norvell said. “It’s the consistency, the push, the strain — and it’s coming.”
📈 Scrimmage Standouts + Updates:
Elijah Moore: 2 TDs in Saturday’s scrimmage — “really good day,” per Norvell
Samuel Singleton: Got the coveted “really, really” praise for physical, patient runs
Earl Little Jr.: Called one of the defense’s most complete performers so far
LBs: Omar Graham and Elijah Herring standing out, Cryer & Nichelson showing growth
OL: Luke Petitbon continues to lead, UCF transfer Adrian Medley praised for versatility
Young linemen like Otto, Simmons, and Daniels all getting developmental buzz
🔧 Injury Notes:
Squirrel White, Lawayne McCoy, and BJ Gibson (baseball) limiting WR depth
Duce Robinson (minor leg injury) — not long-term concern
Shyheim Brown: Ahead of schedule in recovery, practicing in limited fashion
Several O-line starters still limited, but no new serious injuries reported
And that’s a wrap!
Whether it’s Lottie chasing back-to-back titles, Latson rewriting the record book, or spring camp heating up, one thing’s clear: the standard in Tallahassee stays sky-high. 🙌
The softball team’s on fire. Lodise is stacking hardware. And hoops? Reloading fast.
📣 Now it’s your turn — hit the poll, forward to a friend, and tell us which Nole deserves their flowers this week.
Until next time… stay locked in, stay proud, and as always — Go Noles! 🔱
