🐰🌸 Easter Sunday • Seminole Strong Afterparty 🌸🐰

Hop Into Hope: Easter April Fools Afterparty for a Cause 🐣❤️‍🩹

Hop into hope this Easter Sunday. As we gather with family and enjoy a day of renewal, let’s also lift up our FSU community. In light of last week’s tragedy, 100% of proceeds from the April Fool’s Afterparty at fsuaprilfools.com will go directly to the families affected.

Only 92 boxes + 93 books remain. Once they’re gone, they’re gone—and so is this chance to turn a prank into real support.

Let’s make this Easter about hope, healing, and Seminole strength.

HISTORY MADE: Florida State Wins First-Ever ACC Women’s Golf Championship!

The Noles got it done — and they did it in thrilling fashion. 🏆🔥

Freshman Alexandra Gazzoli sank the championship-clinching putt on the 18th hole as Florida State rallied for a 3–2 win over Wake Forest to capture the first ACC Women’s Golf Championship in program history.

📈 How It Happened:

• Mirabel Ting: 💣 Dominant 5&4 win to put FSU on the board

• Wake Forest: 🚨 Won two straight matches to take a 2–1 lead

• Kaylah Williams: 🧱 Birdied the 18th to tie the overall match at 2–2

• Alexandra Gazzoli: 🏌️‍♀️ Clutch par on 18 to win the final match 1Up and seal the title!

🎙️ Coach Amy Bond:

"The girls showed a lot of grit… and they fought through it no matter how much they were down. I'm super excited — we've waited a long time for this, and it was well deserved."

🎯 Key Notes:

• Ting never trailed and led for 15 holes in her match

• Williams and Gazzoli both won their matches on the 18th hole

• Gazzoli took her first lead on No. 10 and held steady under immense pressure

• The Seminoles are now expected to earn a No. 1 seed in an NCAA Regional — another program first!

🗓️ What’s Next: The NCAA Women’s Golf Championship Selection Show airs Wednesday, April 23 at 1 PM ET on the Golf Channel. FSU will find out its regional site then!

🚪 FSU Spring Transfer Portal HQ: Major Moves and New Targets Emerging

The Transfer Portal spring window is officially open — and things are moving fast. 🔥

Florida State is already navigating a wave of departures while evaluating key defensive and offensive targets to close out the 2025 roster.

📊 Departures So Far:

• QB Trever Jackson — Entered Wednesday

• WR Hykeem Williams — Entered Friday (visits set to Colorado, Syracuse, Pittsburgh)

• WR Jordan Scott — Entered Wednesday

• WR Jalen Brown — Dismissed Saturday, now in portal

• OL Jaylen Early — Entered Wednesday (Missouri among those interested)

🔎 Portal Targets + Recruiting Notes:

• DB Jon Mitchell (Penn State): Early FSU interest — committed to Georgia Tech

• DB Ricky Fletcher (South Alabama): FSU contact, visiting Texas A&M and Ole Miss

• WR Xavier Loyd (Illinois State): FSU working behind the scenes, but Mizzou and Oklahoma involved

• DB Markevious Brown (Purdue): FSU contact made, no visit yet

• DB Zaquan Patterson (Miami): Florida trending; FSU backing off • DL Elo Modozie (Army): Big target — Georgia in the lead

• EDGE Phillip Lee (Troy): FSU monitoring, no heavy traction yet

📅 Quick Timeline:

• Portal Opened: April 16

• Portal Closes: April 25 (players must enter by then but can commit after)

🚨 Key Developments:

• No official campus visits resuming until Monday (campus activity paused after Thursday’s tragic shooting)

• FSU still expects to host visitors next week

• DB, DL, and WR remain potential areas of portal focus

The Seminoles' 2026 class already has momentum — and it might be about to take off. 🚀

Fresh off landing three-star DB Sean Johnson, Florida State is making major moves with several four-star prospects who visited this spring.

📈 Three Big Movers:

WR Devin Carter (Auburn commit):

• FSU legacy ➡️ Two spring visits ➡️ Official visit set

• Growing connection with Tim Harris Jr. and Gus Malzahn

• Will attend FSU-Bama opener — chance to swing momentum

FSU very much alive here — especially if Auburn struggles in 2025

DL Deuce Geralds:

• FSU surged after multiple visits

• D-line coach Terrance Knighton made a major impact

• Ohio State still leads slightly, but FSU gaining fast

• Expect an official visit this summer

LB Rodney Colton Jr.:

• Former Tennessee commit

• Strong bond with John Papuchis and belief in Tony White’s defense

• First official visit scheduled for FSU this summer

FSU now a serious contender alongside Tennessee and Ole Miss

🔥 Honorable Mentions — Other Names Heating Up:

QB Jaden O'Neal (Oklahoma commit): Top 2026 QB target, official visit set

RB Carsyn Baker: Ohio State leads, but FSU visit left major impression (especially with family)

WR Brandon Bennett: FSU a strong threat to Miami

TE Evan Jacobson: FSU rising fast — battling Notre Dame

DB Preston Ashley: FSU legacy — momentum growing after recent visit

🎯 Why It Matters:

• Summer officials are coming fast — and FSU is positioning itself to close strong on multiple Top 150 prospects.

• Big on-field performances early in 2025 (👀 Aug. 30 vs. Bama) could be the final push needed.

🚨 WR Jalen Brown Dismissed from Florida State Following Off-Field Incident

Florida State wide receiver Jalen Brown has been dismissed from the program, a school spokesperson confirmed to Noles247 over the weekend.

🔍 What We Know:

• Brown was dismissed on Saturday morning

• Local police reports show a Jalen Brown matching his birthdate was arrested by FSUPD on a third-degree felony charge for possession of a controlled substance

• FSU policy prohibits the program from commenting on the nature of the dismissal

📚 Brown’s Brief FSU Career:

• Former blue-chip recruit and LSU transfer

• Struggled during 2024 season (308th out of 312 P4 receivers in Passer Rating when targeted)

• Showed flashes this spring — earning praise from Mike Norvell before the dismissal

📉 Big Picture:

• Brown is the second 2023 South Florida blue-chip WR to leave the program this week, following Hykeem Williams' entry into the transfer portal

🏈 FSU Offers San Jose State Transfer WR TreyShun Hurry

Florida State is on the hunt for more wide receiver depth — and they’ve zeroed in on a new target. 🔥

The Seminoles officially offered San Jose State transfer wide receiver TreyShun Hurry on Saturday, the redshirt sophomore announced via X.

📋 Player Profile:

• 📏 6'2", 194 pounds

• 🏈 28 catches for 482 yards and 2 TDs in 2024 at San Jose State

• 🎯 Notable Games:

• 4 catches, 62 yards in the Hawai'i Bowl vs. USF

• Game-winning TD vs. Stanford in final regular-season game

🌎 Recruitment Notes:

• Also holds offers from Baylor, BYU, Louisville, Miami, USF, and West Virginia

• Originally from Palmdale, California

• Played two seasons at Weber State before transferring to SJSU

📍 Why It Matters:

FSU has seen three WRs depart via the portal this week (Jordan Scott, Hykeem Williams, and Jalen Brown), and Hurry’s size, speed, and experience make him an intriguing addition to help replenish the room.

🚪 Portal Profile: Elo Modozie’s Meteoric Rise from WR to Top Transfer EDGE

From catching passes to hunting quarterbacks — Elo Modozie’s journey is one of the best stories in the Transfer Portal this year. 🛡️

Originally recruited to Army as a wide receiver, Modozie trusted his instincts, switched to defense, and has now developed into one of the premier pass rushers available in the portal.

📋 Quick Profile:

• 📏 6'3", 245 pounds

• 🔥 34 tackles, 8 TFL, 6.5 sacks in 2024

• 🧱 5th in AAC with 37 QB pressures (per PFF)

🌟 The Rise:

• High school WR ➔ Army rover ➔ Explosive EDGE rusher

• Transformed physically and mentally for defense • Motor + athleticism + growing arsenal of pass rush moves

🌎 Portal Recruitment:

• Programs involved: Georgia, Penn State, Texas A&M, UCLA, Florida State, Michigan State, and more

• One visit scheduled so far — Georgia (this weekend)

🎙️ Modozie’s Mindset:

"I want the best fit — a school that needs me, not just offers NIL. A place where I can make an impact right away."

📍 Why It Matters for FSU:

Florida State is actively pursuing EDGE talent to bolster Tony White’s defense, and Modozie would fit perfectly as a disruptive chess piece in the Seminoles’ hybrid front.
