Former Florida State standout Natasha Howard has made significant waves in European basketball, leading her team, Fenerbahçe, to a triumphant season.

They not only remained undefeated in the Turkish Super League but also clinched their second consecutive EuroLeague title.

Spectacular Season and Championship Wins:

Howard delivered a stellar championship-clinching performance with an 18-point, 12-rebound effort, sweeping Mersin 3-0 in the Turkish Super League finals.

Her consistent excellence throughout the games, scoring 17 and 22 points in the first two games respectively, earned her the Finals MVP title. This season marks Fenerbahçe's continuous dominance, having won every Super League title since the 2017-18 season.

🏈 FSU’s Recruiting Momentum: Wiltfong’s “Fong Bombs” Signal Strong Prospects 🏈

Florida State Seminoles are making significant strides in their recruiting efforts, as highlighted by On3’s vice president of recruiting and transfer portal, Steve Wiltfong.

His latest “Fong Bombs” predictions underscore a promising outlook for FSU's future roster. Here’s a rundown of these key predictions and their implications for the Seminoles.

🌟 Rising Stars and Predictions:

  • Byron Louis, a four-star running back, received a positive nod from Wiltfong after a vibrant Spring Showcase visit.

Praising the high-energy environment and the coaching staff’s dedication, Louis sees FSU as a place that matches his ambitions.

Ranked as the 176th-best player and the 10th-best running back in the 2025 class, his recruitment is heating up with FSU now a leading contender.

  • Peyton Joseph, another four-star, this time in the interior offensive line, has shifted his sights to FSU following a decommitment from the University of Florida.

His frequent visits and strong relationship with Coach Norvell highlight the familial-like bond FSU builds with its recruits. Joseph is seen as the 174th-best player and the 12th-best IOL in his class.

  • Gregory Thomas, a four-star cornerback from American Heritage, has FSU positioned at the top of his list.

His interactions during visits have solidified his interest in the Seminoles’ program, with the coaching style and practice environment being key factors.

Thomas ranks within the top 300 players nationally and 26th in his position for the class of 2025.

  • Jaelen Waters, looking further ahead to the class of 2026, this four-star cornerback has already marked his interest in FSU.

His experience during the Spring Showcase, including engaging discussions with the coaching staff, left a strong impression.

Waters is a top-200 player and a top-25 prospect at his position.

Florida State University persists in its legal conflict with the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), seeking a resolution that could allow it to exit the conference without severe financial penalties.

The dispute, which unfolded in the Leon County Circuit Court under Judge John C. Cooper, centers around FSU's motion to dismiss the ACC's case and addresses critical legal points such as jurisdiction and the adequacy of FSU's complaint.

⚖️ Proceedings and Legal Arguments:

During the recent hearing, the discussions pivoted on the motion to dismiss and encompassed issues of jurisdiction—especially pivotal because of concurrent cases in Florida and North Carolina—and the ripeness of the case.

FSU argues that the contracts and financial exchanges within Florida justify the court’s jurisdiction, while the ACC challenges the clarity and sufficiency of FSU’s complaint in establishing this link.

🔍 Key Judicial Insights:

Judge Cooper expressed concerns about the lack of clarity in FSU’s amended complaint, emphasizing the need for more precise language to articulate the grounds for jurisdiction clearly.

He pointed out the potential for misdirection in the current complaint and stressed the importance of explicitness in a dispute potentially worth half a billion dollars.

📝 Amendment and Mediation:

Cooper has mandated FSU to amend its complaint to better specify its arguments, granting them seven business days to do so.

Following this, the ACC will have 20 days to respond.

Cooper also highlighted the necessity for mediation between the parties within the next 120 days, pushing for a resolution outside of continuous court proceedings.

🚧 Stay on Discovery and Next Steps:

A stay on discovery was granted, pending the resolution of the jurisdiction issue. The case will advance only after FSU files its amended complaint and the ACC responds, with a future court date to be scheduled thereafter.
