Bobby Bowden took over a program that was 20 years removed from being an all woman’s college, that hadn’t won any major games, no championships and didn’t have a conference home. He then won more than 304 games at FSU, 12 conference championships, went 14 straights years

🛡 Boundary Safety Battle Heating Up 🛡
FSU DB Shyheim Brown improved from 2023 to 2024, where he led the team with 70 tackles.
However, the redshirt senior defender has unfinished business in 2025 as the squad looks to get back on track.
What is your expectation of him in defensive coordinator Tony White’s scheme?
— Norvell Central (@CentralNorvell)

With two weeks left in camp, the boundary safety job is still up for grabs — and a few other position notes are making headlines.
🔥 Three-Man Race at Safety
Shyheim Brown — 2-year starter — has mostly run with the second team this camp.
K.J. Kirkland opened as starter; brings track speed but must improve tackling.
Ashlynd Barker is surging after strong scrimmages; graded well late last season.
🏃 Return Game Watch
Punt returner reps: Duce Robinson (6’6), Jaylin Lucas (5’9), Squirrel White, BJ Gibson.
Kickoff returner leaders: Samuel Singleton (24.87 avg yds, 3rd among freshmen), Lucas, Micahi Danzy.
🔄 Amaree Williams’ Two-Way Role
Switches between TE and DE in practice; scored a TD one play after a sack.
Will work mostly as sub-package pass rusher (Jack) on defense.
💪 Key Depth Updates
OL Jacob Rizy back from surgery, repping with first team; can play all five spots.
DT Daniel Lyons returning from injury; staff sees signs of pre-injury form.
🩸 Saturday’s “Half-and-Half” Practice
Full contact periods for players still needing to prove themselves.
Goal: see who can finish plays when everything’s on the line.
🚨 Roster Moves & Notes
S Conrad Hussey dismissed from team.
CB Jeremiah Wilson now officially going by “Jerry Wilson.”
Why It Matters: FSU is still sorting critical depth chart spots — and with Alabama looming, every rep counts.

247Sports released its first-ever Top 100 for the 2028 class — and Florida State has already offered over a third of the list.
🔥 Early Impact Targets
Offered 36/100 top-ranked rising sophomores.
Includes No. 1 overall QB Jayden Wade (Fla.) and five of the top seven overall prospects.
Stretches across multiple positions — QB, WR, OL, DL, RB, CB, SAF, ATH, EDGE — and from Florida to California.
🌴 Florida Heavy, National Reach
20+ offers to in-state stars like WR Brysen Wright (#5), CB A’Mir Sears (#6), and WR Eric McFarland (#7).
Key out-of-state offers include RB Micah Rhodes (#30, TX), RB Tahmere Brown (#34, NJ), and SAF Pole Moala (#91, CA).
Why It Matters: These 2028 prospects are just entering high school, but FSU is already positioned among the early contenders for elite talent.

🏈 Top LB Target Resets Recruitment 🏈
.@d_forkpa87 ✈️ RIVALS FIVE-STAR
4⭐️ LB Duyon Forkpa is officially LOCKED IN to join 100 of the best prospects in the country to compete in Indianapolis on June 23-24 🔥
— Rivals Camp Series (@RivalsCamp)
9:58 PM • Jun 11, 2025
Four-star LB Duyon Forkpa Jr. is slowing things down after transferring from IMG Academy (FL) to St. Frances (MD), reshaping his recruitment heading into the season.
🔥 FSU Still in the Mix
Officially visited FSU, Florida, and Michigan in June.
Eyeing in-season trips to Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Ohio State.
Priorities: early playing time, NFL development path, and strong academics for life after football.
📊 Recruiting Profile
No. 21 linebacker nationally; only one higher-ranked LB remains uncommitted.
Offers include Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Michigan, UNC, and Miami.
Junior year: 22 tackles in 6 games at Mill Creek (GA) before transferring to IMG.
Why It Matters: FSU’s early official visit keeps them firmly in the race, but Forkpa’s new timeline means the battle is far from over.

🏈 FSU Offers 2027 CB with Jalen Ramsey Connection 🏈
Blessed to receive an D1 offer from FSU!!! 🍢🍢🍢@_DJDaniels@CochBG4@DarrenSunkett@CoachTDismukes@coachnellyy@tfenton314@AllenTrieu@RivalsFriedman@adamgorney@GregSmithRivals@TheUCReport
— Raheem “Heem” Floyd (@holdonheem)
11:53 PM • Aug 11, 2025
Four-star CB Raheem Floyd (East St. Louis, Ill.) landed a Florida State offer Monday — and it’s personal. Floyd grew up idolizing Jalen Ramsey and studying his game, making this a dream offer.
🔥 Recruitment Landscape
Previous top five: Arizona State, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin.
Illinois & Missouri: Proximity + friends on roster.
Wisconsin: Strong bond with CB coach Paul Haynes; also recruiting Floyd’s HS teammate Laron Baker.
FSU will need to bump Arizona State or Indiana to join his final group.
👀 Next Steps
Likely to visit Tallahassee for a game this fall.
Already had a positive view of FSU before the offer — the Ramsey connection could be the edge.
Why It Matters: FSU’s offer hits an emotional chord with Floyd, giving the ‘Noles a real shot to climb in a recruitment that’s still shaping up.

🏈 Two-Way Amaree Williams Making Noise in Camp 🏈
Amaree Williams said in practice today he had a sack, then switched sides and scored a touchdown on the next play.

— Warchant.com (@Warchant)
3:35 PM • Aug 13, 2025
In Wednesday’s practice, Amaree Williams logged a sack as a defensive end — then caught a touchdown as a tight end on the very next snap. It’s become a pattern for the second-year Seminole, who’s splitting time between offense and defense this preseason.
🔥 Balancing Both Roles
Moved up a class to enroll early in 2023; played TE as a freshman.
Bulked up to 6’4”, 236 lbs this offseason and added defensive reps at “Jack” in Tony White’s scheme.
Attends offensive and defensive meetings daily; often stays late for extra work.
🧠 Coach Connections
Terrance Knighton (DL): Direct, NFL-tested guidance.
Chris Thomsen (TE): Described by Williams as a “father figure” who holds him to a high standard.
💪 Mindset & Outlook
Told Mike Norvell he wants to “push his body to the limit” while protecting his long-term future.
Feels he’s made “amazing steps” forward and is playing faster and more physical.
Why It Matters: Few players can pull off true two-way roles at a high level — Williams’ versatility could be a hidden weapon for FSU in 2025.

And that’s a wrap!
That’s it for today, Chief. From a whiteout rivalry kick-off to U.S. Amateur heroics, camp position battles, and recruiting wins stretching all the way to the 2028 class, the Noles are building momentum on every front. The season is nearly here — and the storylines are stacking up fast.
