Schools would need to withdraw from their current conference within 180 days of the bill's enactment to qualify for the exception. It's a real but narrow window, one that would let FSU bypass the exact penalty we detailed earlier this week.
💰 Why Now
FSU and Clemson already fought (and partially won) a legal battle with the ACC in 2023 that reduced exit penalties starting in 2036. This amendment would let a program skip that timeline altogether, though FSU would be negotiating from a weaker position than in 2023, coming off two losing seasons rather than an unbeaten one.
Why It Matters: A Florida senator pushing this specific amendment isn't a coincidence. If it survives the legislative process, it could hand FSU the fastest realistic path out of the ACC that's existed since the 2023 lawsuit began. 🍢
FSU wrapped its annual trip to UNF with a back-and-forth split: the defense dominated day one, and the offense answered with what Norvell called "an incredible response" on day two.
🏈 Daniels' One Bad Moment
Norvell praised Ashton Daniels' decision-making all week but didn't hide that he got animated over one specific mistake in practice: "I let him know about one really, really bad decision yesterday, and I don't think I'll see that one again." Otherwise, Norvell called his ownership of the offense "about as good as I've seen."

The transfer class of Rylan Kennedy, Jalen Anderson, and Jordan Sanders offers pass-rush upside but limited two-way proof. The veterans, Daniel Lyons, Deamontae Diggs, and McCray, provide experience but have never been more than rotational pieces.

Tony White said busts were rare in the first scrimmage, evidence the scheme is finally clicking mentally. But last year's line was inconsistent at best, holding Alabama to 87 rushing yards in Week 1 before Florida ran for 266 in the finale. The philosophy makes sense; whether the room has the horses to execute it is still unproven.
