Seminoles Eyeing Top Transfer QB Cameron Ward

As the transfer portal buzzes with activity, FSU sets its sights on a significant prospect: Washington State transfer quarterback Cameron Ward.

With a decision looming between transferring to a new school or entering the NFL Draft, the Seminoles are keenly watching as Ward weighs his options in the coming days.

Ward isn't just any player in the transfer portal; he's ranked as the No. 8 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in the 247Sports transfer rankings.

His official visits have included stops at Miami and Florida State, with a host of other top programs like USC and Nebraska showing keen interest.

Despite the speculation about his transfer, entering the NFL Draft remains a serious possibility for Ward.

The 6-foot-2 quarterback has made waves since his freshman year at FCS Incarnate Word in San Antonio, where he won the Jerry Rice Award.

His transition to Washington State under Coach Eric Morris only amplified his success, making him one of the top quarterbacks in the country.

With an impressive 3,735 yards passing and 25 touchdowns this past season, Ward's arm and field vision make him a coveted addition to any team.

For FSU, landing a player of Ward's caliber would be a major coup, adding depth and known talent to the quarterback position.

As the Seminole community waits with bated breath, the decision will significantly impact the program's trajectory.

Whether he chooses the path of further collegiate play or opts for the professional route, Cameron Ward's choice will be a pivotal moment in this off-season's transfer saga.

Seminole Standout Akeem Dent Heads to the NFL Draft

FSU Football bids farewell to a defensive stalwart, Akeem Dent, as he declares for the 2024 NFL Draft.

The redshirt senior defensive back, known for his formidable presence on the field, has played an impressive 54 games and started 40, embodying the Seminole spirit through and through.

Coming out of Palm Beach Central HS as a top-100 prospect, Dent has been a cornerstone in FSU's defense.

His career stats are a testament to his impact: 189 total tackles, 17 pass breakups, five tackles for loss, and more.

This past season, despite an injury sidelining him for two games, he managed to place fifth on the team with 44 total tackles and continued to add to his impressive statistics.

Dent's dedication and performance have not gone unnoticed.

He was an All-ACC Honorable Mention and one of the six players to receive the prestigious Don Powell Award, highlighting his role as one of FSU's unsung heroes.

As he moves on to the next chapter, Dent leaves big shoes to fill in the Seminoles' defense and a legacy that will inspire future players.

As FSU prepares to face Georgia in the Orange Bowl, they'll do so without Dent, but with every confidence that his future is as bright as his time at FSU was illustrious.

'Twas the Night Before a Seminole Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through Tallahassee,

Not a creature was stirring, not even an athlete sassy.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that Saint Bowden soon would be there.

The students were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of touchdowns danced in their heads.

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the field there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen dew,

Gave the lustre of midday to objects below.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now, Winston! now, Warrick! now, Burt and Peter Warrick!

On, Dalvin! On, Deion! on, on Bobby and Derrick!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So up to the housetop the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of Toys, and Saint Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney Saint Bowden came with a bound.

He was dressed all in garnet and gold, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyesβ€”how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

So here's to the FSU family far and wide,

May your holidays be filled with Seminole pride!

From the gridiron to the classroom, we've much to adore,

Happy holidays to all, and to all, a great score! πŸ’πŸŽ„
