In a major recruiting win, Florida State has successfully flipped four-star edge rusher Tylon Lee from Ole Miss, securing his commitment on Friday during a ceremony at his school.
๐ A Late-Cycle Victory ๐
Lee had been committed to the Rebels since October 27, but the Seminoles made a strong late push, hosting him for an official visit last weekend during their home game against Florida. This visit was pivotal in swaying Lee, who is now set to join FSU's defensive line.
๐ฅ Impressive Senior Campaign ๐ฅ
Standing at 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, Lee had a standout senior season at Pace High School in Milton, Florida. He posted an eye-popping 87 tackles, 40 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks, showcasing his ability to disrupt offenses from the edge.
โก Ranked as a Top DL Prospect โก
Ranked as the nation's No. 278 overall player and No. 29 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite, Lee is considered one of the top edge rushers in the 2025 class. His commitment bolsters FSU's defensive line as the Seminoles continue to strengthen their roster for the upcoming seasons.

Florida State has landed a big-time recruit, securing the commitment of four-star edge LaJesse Harrold on Friday. The Tampa (Fla.) Gaither standout had been considering waiting until later in the signing period, but after visiting FSU over the weekend, he made the decision to sign with the Seminoles.
๐ A Big Flip for the Seminoles ๐
Harrold had been committed to LSU but backed off that commitment just before his official visit to FSU. In recent days, Louisville and Michigan made efforts to sway him, but Harrold ultimately chose FSU, citing the positive environment and the strong coaching vision laid out by head coach Mike Norvell.
๐ฅ Impressive Physical Profile ๐ฅ
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 215 pounds, Harrold is a physically gifted edge rusher. Ranked by 247Sports as the No. 146 overall prospect and No. 13 edge rusher in the 2025 class, Harrold brings both size and athleticism to the table, with impressive track and field metrics that complement his football skills.
โก High Ceiling, Boom-or-Bust Potential โก
Though not the most technically refined at this stage, Harrold is known for his athleticism, energy, and ability to bend the edge while applying pressure. His versatility in both two-point and three-point stances makes him a fit for multiple defensive schemes. With continued development, Harrold has the potential to be a game-changing player for FSU with NFL upside.
๐ FSU Offers UCF OL Transfer Marcellus Marshall ๐

Florida State has extended an offer to Marcellus Marshall, a 6th-year offensive lineman who recently completed a successful stint at UCF. Marshall announced the offer via his X (Twitter) account, adding another experienced target for the Seminoles as they continue to rebuild their roster for the 2025 season.
๐ Versatile, Experienced Lineman ๐
Marshall brings significant experience to the table, having played both right tackle and right guard during his time at UCF. Most recently, he started every game in 2024 at right guard, with one exception where he took the field at center. Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 310 pounds, Marshall offers flexibility across the offensive line, having seen substantial time at multiple positions throughout his college career.
๐ฅ Strong Pass-Blocking Metrics ๐ฅ
In his final season with UCF, Marshall showcased his strength as a pass blocker, earning an impressive pass-blocking grade of 77.8 from Pro Football Focus. Over his career, Marshall has accumulated 2,494 snaps and a total offensive grade of 58.4, solidifying his value on the field. In recognition of his talents, Marshall was named a 2nd-team All-Big 12 selection by College Football Network in 2023.
โก High-Profile Interest โก
In addition to FSU, Marshall is drawing attention from several top programs, including Stanford, Northwestern, and San Diego State. His experience, combined with his solid play in the Big 12, makes him an attractive prospect for any team looking to bolster its offensive line heading into the 2025 season.
๐ FSU Players Enter Transfer Portal: Byron Turner & Jackson West ๐
Florida State's roster continues to see changes as two Seminoles, defensive end Byron Turner and tight end Jackson West, have announced they are entering the Transfer Portal, signaling the start of another busy offseason for the program.
๐ Byron Turnerโs FSU Career ๐
Byron Turner, a redshirt junior from New Orleans, has been a rotational player for the Seminoles over the last two seasons and a consistent contributor on special teams.
Turner finished the 2024 season with 13 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss (TFL), capping off his FSU career with 39 tackles and 3.5 TFL.
As a three-star recruit in the 2021 cycle, Turner battled through injuries in his first two seasons but became a steady presence on defense in his final years. With one year of eligibility left, Turner will now look for a fresh opportunity as he enters the Transfer Portal.
๐ฅ Jackson Westโs Departure ๐ฅ
Tight end Jackson West, who spent four seasons with FSU, is also entering the Transfer Portal. Over his career, West played in 32 games, including one start, but was hampered by a leg injury that kept him out of the 2022 season.
Despite playing 23 games over the last two years and contributing on special teams, West never made significant strides as a receiver, finishing his career with no receptions and three tackles. The Alabama native, a three-star recruit in the 2021 class, will have one season of eligibility remaining.
๐ FSU's Early Signing Period: A Stellar Close to the 2025 Class ๐
Despite the challenges of a tough season, Mike Norvell and his staff have turned the tide for Florida State's 2025 recruiting class.
With a strong finish to the Early Signing Period, FSU's class now ranks in the Top 20, climbing more than 30 spots over the past three days.
As of the end of day one, FSU has secured 20 signings, with the class sitting at No. 18 nationally.
๐ Key Wins for the Seminoles ๐
FSUโs class is highlighted by several standout additions. Four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn, who stuck with his commitment to the Seminoles despite heavy competition from Georgia and Texas, leads the charge.
Alongside him, four-star running back Ousmane Kromah made headlines by flipping from Georgia to FSU, marking a huge victory for the Seminoles.
Additionally, FSU added key edge rushers in Tylon Lee and LaJesse Harrold, both flipping from Ole Miss and LSU, respectively, after official visits.
๐ฅ The Most Impressive Flips ๐ฅ
The Seminoles saw impressive flips from key players, including wide receiver Tae'shaun Gelsey from Florida, defensive back Shamar Arnoux from Auburn, and defensive lineman Tyeland Coleman from West Virginia.
These late commitments and flips helped push FSUโs class into the Top 20, adding to the momentum that started earlier in the cycle.
โก A Promising Future โก
While there was some disappointing newsโparticularly the loss of five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas to LSUโFSU has shown it can close on key targets and add depth in areas of need, including the defensive line and wide receiver.
As the transfer portal continues to open, the Seminoles are poised to further strengthen their roster and build on this momentum for the 2025 season.
๐ FSU's Early Enrollment Trend: Whoโs Joining the Program This Winter and Summer ๐
