Florida State Falls Short in High-Scoring Battle Against Louisville: 101-92

In a hard-fought game at the KFC YUM! Center, the Florida State men's basketball team faced a tough loss against Louisville.

Despite an impressive performance from Jalen Warley, the Cardinals secured the victory with a season-high in points, marking their first Atlantic Coast Conference home victory this season and just their second conference win overall.

Louisville's victory snapped a seven-game winning streak for FSU against them, including a four-game winning streak on the Cardinals' home court. UL led FSU 47-35 at halftime, securing their first lead at the half in a conference game and the first time since mid-December.

Brandon Huntley-Hatfield led the Cardinals with a career-high 29 points, while Ty-Laur Johnson contributed a career-high 27 points. Despite having just eight players available, UL displayed efficiency, shooting 54.4% from the floor and capitalizing on FSU's season-high 18 turnovers with 22 points.

For the Noles, Warley showcased his skills, tying his career-high of 27 points by making his first eight field goal attempts and finishing with an impressive 9 out of 10 field goals made. Unfortunately, he fouled out with 3 minutes left in the game.

Primo Spears contributed 17 points, and Jamir Watkins and Cam Corhen added 14 points each. Darin Green Jr. led the Seminoles in steals with four and also show well from beyond the 3-point arc.

Despite a strong second-half performance where the Seminoles outscored the Cardinals 57-54, Florida State couldn't overcome a meaningful halftime deficit. The team fought hard, narrowing the gap to only five points with 40 seconds left, but Louisville secured the win with a 5-1 run in the final moments.

The Seminoles will regroup as they travel to Chestnut Hill to face Boston College on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00 pm, aiming for a bounce-back victory.
