In the recruiting game, FSU seems to have an edge for top prospect Gregory Xavier Thomas, a four-star cornerback from Fort Lauderdale.
Fresh off a positive Junior Day visit, Thomas is singing praises about FSU's approach and his bond with coach Patrick Surtain Sr.
With his ranking climbing in the Top247 and his unique tie to the Seminole Tribe, this could be a match made in football heaven.
Miami and LSU are in the running too, but the 'Noles are looking like front-runners for a late summer commitment.

FSU Seminoles are set for a pivotal showdown against Syracuse in the JMA Wireless Dome, a venue renowned for its unique challenges.
The Dome, with a capacity of 33,000 and a distinctive architecture that affects depth perception, has been Syracuse's stronghold, where they've won over 80% of their games.
FSU's victory here last season, a significant 76-71 win, demonstrates their ability to overcome these hurdles.
The Seminoles enter this game on a high, having won seven of their last nine games, and five of their last six ACC games.
They are also 5-1 in 2024, showing remarkable form. This matchup isn't just another game; it's an opportunity for FSU to prove their mettle in one of college basketball's most challenging arenas.
Coach Leonard Hamilton, with his extensive experience and a two-game winning streak in Syracuse, is a key factor in preparing the team for this contest.
This game will test FSU's adaptability, especially for players like Primo Spears, who has had a good game in the Dome with Georgetown, and Jaylan Gainey, who brings experience from playing with Brown.
As FSU aims for their third consecutive ACC road win, this game is a crucial test in their quest for another ACC championship.
🔄 Recruitment Twist: FSU's 2026 Class Sees Change
FSU loses commitment from 4-star 2026 WR Devin Carter

In the ever-shifting landscape of college football recruitment, FSU's 2026 class has seen a change with the decommitment of Devin Carter, a four-star wide receiver.
While this might seem concerning, it's worth noting that Carter still has two years of high school ahead of him, leaving ample time for future developments.
Additionally, given Coach Norvell's known prowess in the transfer portal, it wouldn't be surprising to see Carter potentially rejoin the Noles down the line.
Recruitment paths are rarely set in stone, and FSU's future lineup remains an evolving puzzle.

Florida State Baseball is entering a new era, and nowhere is that more evident than on the mound.
After a disappointing 2023 season that saw the Seminoles finish with a losing record, head coach Link Jarrett made a major change, hiring DBU assistant Micah Posey as the team's new pitching coach.
Posey, known for his success at developing pitchers at DBU, immediately went to work revamping the FSU staff.
He brought in a talented group of transfers, including Cam Leiter (UCF), Gavin Adams (Indian River State), and Yoel Tejeda Jr. (Florida), all of whom possess electric arsenals.
"We're excited about the new arms we've brought in," Posey said. "These guys have the potential to be game-changers, and we're confident they can help us turn things around on the mound."
The Seminoles also return a solid core of veterans, including Conner Whittaker, Andrew Armstrong, and Joe Charles.
Whittaker, who emerged as a reliable starter late last season, is expected to be a key part of the weekend rotation.
Armstrong, a lefty who led the team in appearances in 2023, will likely be used in a variety of roles out of the bullpen.
And Charles, a talented right-hander who has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, is finally healthy and ready to make an impact.
"Our returning guys have a lot of experience," Posey said. "They know what it takes to win in the ACC, and I'm confident they'll provide leadership for the newcomers."
With a new coaching staff, a talented mix of veterans and newcomers, and a renewed focus on pitching, FSU Baseball is poised for a bounce-back season in 2024.
The Seminoles have the potential to be a force to be reckoned with in the ACC, and they'll be looking to make a statement right out of the gate when they open the season on February 16th against Butler.
And that’s a wrap!
From the football field to the basketball court, and the baseball diamond, our teams are showing a lot of momentum.
Keep cheering, keep believing, and let's show our unwavering support for the Seminoles.
Go Noles!
