Kelly, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 290 pounds, impressed during his time at Colorado State. As a redshirt freshman in 2022, he secured a starting role, ranking seventh on the team with 43 tackles, and earning Freshman All-America honors. In the following season, he recorded 35 tackles, 6.5 for loss, and 1.5 sacks.
Reflecting on his decision, Kelly highlighted the family-oriented approach of FSU, where discussions about personal character were as important as on-field performance.
His relationship with defensive line coach Odell Haggins was particularly influential, sharing conversations about faith, family, and their common interests.
Kelly's commitment is seen as a strategic move for FSU, looking to replace key defensive players like Braden Fiske and Jared Verse. His high football IQ, leadership, and maturity make him a valuable addition to the Seminoles.
Eager to start, Kelly expressed his readiness to join the team, saying, “I’m ready. If I didn’t have to fly up and drive back down, I’d be in there training right now. I’m ready to get going.” With this new addition, FSU's defensive line looks poised for success in the upcoming seasons.
FSU Snags Special Teams Star Jaylin Lucas for Electrifying Impact
Florida State Seminoles have boosted their lineup with the commitment of Indiana transfer Jaylin Lucas, a dynamic running back and special teams ace.
Lucas, following his visit, shared his excitement about joining FSU, "Just getting the opportunity to come here, it meant a lot. Having a relationship with Coach YAC and Coach Norvell, just sitting down with them and seeing the scheme played a key part in me coming here."
As a first-team All-America kick returner in his freshman year, he demonstrated exceptional skill, amassing significant yardage and touchdowns on kick returns. "They see me contributing big on special teams, that’s a huge role," Lucas said, emphasizing the importance FSU places on his talents.

Aside from athletics, Lucas's decision was influenced by family ties, with his brother Ja'Khi Douglas already part of the Seminoles. Discussing this, Lucas said, "I’m very excited to reunite with my brother. That’s all I really wanted to do, and he taught me everything that I know."
Lucas is set to bring not only his athletic prowess but also a strong sense of dedication and team spirit to FSU.
He expressed his readiness to start immediately, underscoring his commitment: "I’m immediately getting started. I just enrolled, so everything is getting kicking tomorrow."
With his commitment, FSU gains a multifaceted player poised to make a significant impact on both special teams and offensive plays. Lucas's arrival at FSU marks an exciting development for the Seminoles, promising to add a new dimension to their game in the upcoming season.

Olsson's remarkable journey at FSU culminated in a National Championship win, where she shone with a goal and two assists against Stanford.
A consistent force for FSU, Olsson notched seven goals and nine assists in her senior year, starting all 23 games in a record-breaking season.
Her standout performances were crucial in pivotal matches throughout the post-season, including scoring decisive goals in the ACC Tournament and contributing significantly in the NCAA Tournament.
Olsson's prowess wasn't confined to the field; she achieved academic excellence, earning CoSIDA All-District Academic honors and the NCAA Elite 90 award.
Her transition to AIK is not just a leap into professional soccer but a testament to her versatile skills and exceptional potential.
KJ Sampson Reflects on Valuable Freshman Year, Sets Sights on Expanded Role with FSU
In a recent interview with Warchant.com, KJ Sampson, a freshman defensive tackle at Florida State, spoke about his initial year with the Seminoles being a strong foundation for greater contributions in the future. Playing in five games, including a career-high 17 snaps against Georgia, gave Sampson more exposure than he anticipated as a freshman in a team rich in interior linemen.
Sampson's approach to every game opportunity was focused on improvement and preparation for a larger role. "Any time I can get on the field and work on my craft, I take it as an opportunity," he shared with Warchant.
Despite the mixed outcomes, Sampson viewed these experiences as crucial for his growth and readiness for the next season.
Entering 2024 as a redshirt freshman, Sampson looks forward to applying the insights gained from his first year. His focus is on refining his technique and playing beyond his natural athleticism.
"Training my eyes, getting better with my technique. All the little things," Sampson stated, emphasizing the importance of becoming a more complete player.
A four-star prospect from North Carolina, Sampson already possesses the physical attributes needed for the defensive line at FSU.
His quickness and prowess were evident in practice drills and encounters with offensive linemen. The challenge now is to translate these skills into consistent performance on the field.
Sampson credits FSU's senior defensive tackles, such as Braden Fiske, Fabien Lovett, and Dennis Briggs, for accelerating his learning curve. With several of these veterans moving on, Sampson is poised for a more significant role in 2024, bringing his high school experience of 96 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and 18 sacks to the collegiate level.
Embracing the mentorship from his teammates, Sampson is eager to demonstrate the skills he honed in his first year. "I knew I was young and had a lot to learn," he said, acknowledging the support from his peers.
With his dedication and the experience gathered, Sampson is set to make a substantial impact on FSU's defensive line in the coming seasons.
Miami Hurricanes' QB Hunt: A String of Rejections in the Transfer Portal
It's hard not to relish in the recent quarterback transfer misfortunes of our rivals, the Miami Hurricanes. Coach Mario Cristobal's repeated attempts to secure a new signal-caller have turned into an almost comedic saga of rejections.
The Hurricanes have swung and missed at Will Howard, who’s heading to Ohio State, and Cam Ward, who's NFL-bound. They also couldn't clinch Malachi Nelson or Kaidon Salter, who chose Boise State and Liberty, respectively.
🚨 The Miami Hurricanes have just been rejected by ANOTHER Quarterback in the Transfer Portal...

The latest rumors now point to Maryland transfer Taulia Tagovailoa as a potential target, but eligibility issues might add to Miami's streak of misses.
The most likely transfer now appears to be Reese Poffenbarger from FCS Albany, a decision that’s raising eyebrows.
These repeated setbacks in securing a quarterback may hint at deeper issues within Miami's program, particularly regarding Cristobal's approach to nurturing quarterback talent.
Grab your popcorn 😁.
