🏈 Max Redmon Commits to Florida State 🏈

Florida State has secured a commitment from West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman three-star safety Max Redmon. Redmon announced his decision to join the Seminoles over South Florida and Illinois during a live ceremony on the 247Sports YouTube Channel.

Long Recruitment Journey

FSU's interest in Redmon began over a year ago, intensifying after his standout performance at an FSU satellite camp at Florida Atlantic in the summer of 2023. Mike Norvell attended the camp and quickly became a fan of Redmon.

Redmon on Choosing FSU: "They've been on me since day one, applying pressure. They always kept the same promise. They stuck around through thick and thin. Just the environment and the family that comes with the school, it's just amazing."

Redmon on His Official Visit: "I told the staff [at the end of June], but in my heart, I always loved going up there. The OV really opened my eyes to them. They told me to take all of my OVs and see what other campuses are like. After I did all of that, I was for sure."

Role and Ranking

Redmon will play safety and nickel for the Seminoles, becoming commitment No. 11 for FSU's 2025 recruiting class, which is now ranked No. 23. He is the only three-star prospect in a class otherwise filled with four-star recruits.

National Rankings

247Sports ranks Redmon as the nation's No. 87 safety and the No. 106 player in Florida.

🌟 Jordon Gidron Names Top 12 Schools, Highlights Key Contenders 🌟

Four-star wide receiver Jordon Gidron of Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View has released his top 12 schools, narrowing down his choices in the competitive recruiting landscape. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound talent is drawing significant attention from some of the nation's top programs.

Top 12 Schools

The schools making the cut are:

  • Alabama

  • Auburn

  • Duke

  • Florida State

  • Georgia

  • Miami

  • North Carolina

  • NC State

  • LSU

  • Ole Miss

  • South Carolina

  • Tennessee

Leading Contenders

Out of these schools, three are showing Gidron the most attention:

South Carolina:

"They probably show me the most love out of every school," Gidron said. "They are always hitting me up. [Head] coach (Shane) Beamer sends me his own personal videos. I probably have the most communication with them. And obviously, they are the closest to me, so I get to go up there a lot."

Auburn:

Gidron has built a strong relationship with Auburn's coaching staff. "I like the coaches and atmosphere a lot at Auburn," he said. "[Wide receivers] coach (Marcus) Davis calls my parents and is a great guy and a genuine person; I really like that relationship. I had a meeting with [head] coach (Hugh) Freeze in his office. I just like the coaches. All seem like genuine people."

N.C. State:

N.C. State's proximity and coaching staff are key factors for Gidron. "[Wide receivers] coach Joker (Phillips) hits me up a lot, and he's a big reason why I like N.C. State."

Recent and Upcoming Visits

Gidron visited several top programs in June, including Ole Miss, Auburn, Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia. He plans to visit Auburn again on July 27 for Big Cat Weekend and is considering additional visits before then.

Rankings

Gidron is ranked No. 49 overall and as the No. 7 wide receiver in the 2026 class by 247Sports.

🌟 Five-Star Tight End Kendre Harrison Eyes Top 6 Schools 🌟

Five-star tight end Kendre Harrison of Reidsville (N.C.) is the top prospect at his position for the 2026 cycle according to 247Sports.

Ranked No. 6 overall in the Top247, Harrison plans to release his top six schools on July 15. Three schools are certain to make the cut: Miami, North Carolina, and Penn State, with Florida State also under primary consideration.

Key Visits and Impressions

Miami: Harrison had his first visit to Miami in June and was thoroughly impressed. "I liked everything about Miami," he said. "It was a lot of fun. Probably one of the most fun visits I've had."

North Carolina: North Carolina has been a consistent contender in Harrison's recruitment. He has a strong connection with the program, partly due to wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway, who is from Harrison's hometown of Reidsville. "Having the opportunity to play football and basketball at a powerhouse program like that is a blessing and a dream come true."

Penn State: While details of Harrison's interactions with Penn State were not discussed in the interview, the school's inclusion in his top six highlights their significance in his recruitment.

Multi-Sport Aspirations

Harrison has a passion for both football and basketball. North Carolina has already offered him a basketball scholarship, and Miami has expressed interest in him playing both sports, although a basketball offer has not yet been extended.

"I want to play at least one year of college basketball to get that experience," Harrison said. "Football is going to be my main sport, but I grew up in a basketball family and I have always dreamed about playing in the NBA."

Upcoming Visits

Harrison will visit Oregon on July 27 when the dead period lifts and may also return to Miami around the same time. He plans to visit Miami again in late October for a home football game.

πŸ€ Four-Star Shooting Guard Adrien Stevens Narrows Down College Choices πŸ€

Adrien Stevens, a standout shooting guard from Potomac (Md.) Bullis Academy, has trimmed his list of prospective colleges to six.

The 6-4, 195-pound four-star recruit, renowned as one of the top on-ball defenders in the class of 2025, has seen his recruitment soar in recent months. Ranked No. 93 overall in the nation, Stevens is eager to find his future home and start his official visits.

Top Six Schools

Stevens announced his top six choices: Marquette, Villanova, Georgetown, Tennessee, Florida State, and Notre Dame. "My recruitment is still open, but these are the schools that are focusing the most on me," he told 247Sports.

Official Visits and Criteria

So far, Stevens has visited Villanova and Marquette officially, with plans to schedule more visits after the next live period.

When deciding on a program, Stevens emphasized the importance of support and relationships. "I'm looking for a school that just shows support really," he said. "I'm looking for who I have the best relationships with. I feel like that shows how important I am to that school and that I'm a priority."

Breakdown of Top Six Schools

Georgetown: "They came in pretty late but I feel like sometimes those are things that you have to look past. They provide a great opportunity even though they came in late. It's a great opportunity to get a great education and play basketball at the highest level in the Big East."

Villanova: "Villanova has been there for a while. I feel like it's another school with a good opportunity to get a great education and play basketball. They're not too far from home and have a strong alumni base. Coach Neptune is getting the program back to what it was before he was there and the coaching staff and players believe in him. It's a two-way road with the belief so that's why they're an option."

Marquette: "Marquette's been recruiting me the hardest for the longest. They're there because they believe in me and I know they believe in me as a player, student and person. I just feel like they've shown that belief and it's been consistent."

Notre Dame: "It's another great opportunity to get a great education and play basketball in the ACC. They have a strong alumni base and great stuff overall. It was Coach Shrewsberry's first year last year and he's looking to get his program rolling in the right direction in the next couple of years."

Florida State: "Florida State has a reputation of having guards with a bigger frame and putting them in the league like Scottie Barnes. I'm not as tall or lanky as he was, but I fit the profile of some of those bigger guards they've had in the past. They have a lot of NBA experience with Coach Hamilton. He's a great coach and has put a lot of guys in the league so it's enticing having that opportunity."

Tennessee: "Kind of the same thing with Florida State. They've put a lot of guys in the NBA. Most recently Dalton (Knecht). He's a great player and he's going to find his role in the NBA by doing the same thing he was doing at Tennessee. That really goes to show how they develop their players into NBA players, so that's enticing too."

🏈 DJ Uiagalelei Declines ACC Kickoff Appearance to Honor Teammates 🏈

Florida State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has decided to forgo representing the Seminoles at this year's ACC Kickoff in Charlotte. The transfer quarterback announced his decision on social media, citing respect for his teammates who haven't had the chance to attend the media day previously.

Uiagalelei, who attended the event twice during his time at Clemson, emphasized the importance of recognizing players from last year's ACC championship team.

Transition to Florida State

After three seasons at Clemson, Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State, where he thrived in a pro-style scheme, achieving a career-high passer rating (145.0) and yards-per-attempt. Now at FSU, Uiagalelei is set to help transition from Jordan Travis to promising underclassmen Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek.

Upcoming ACC Kickoff

FSU will send three players to the ACC media-day event in Charlotte on July 22. The names of the representatives will be announced within the next week.
