🏃‍♀️🎓 FSU Track Sets Academic All-ACC Record with 29 Honorees 🎓🏃‍♂️

Florida State Track & Field just notched a new high — 29 student-athletes were named to the 2025 All-ACC Outdoor Academic Team, the most in program history.

📊 Breakdown:
• 16 women honored — 5th most in the ACC
• 13 men recognized
• Top repeat honorees: Suus Altorf (3×), Bieke Schipperen (2×), Kayla Pinkard (2×), Zach Cloud (3×)

🧠 Eligibility:
3.0+ GPA and participation in the ACC or NCAA Championship

🔑 Bottom Line:
FSU continues to raise the bar — both on the track and in the classroom.

🔍🏈 3 Under-the-Radar FSU Commits Earning National Buzz 🏈🔍

Florida State’s 2026 class is loaded with blue-chips — but it’s a few under-the-radar names that have 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins especially intrigued.

💡 Names to Watch:
Jasen Lopez (WR) – A crafty, high-volume target from Chaminade-Madonna with basketball instincts and smooth route separation. Ivins compares him to Xavier Restrepo.
Tedarius Hughes (S) – A long, rangy ballhawk who’s only 17. Big-play potential over the top, but questions remain on open-field tackling.
Jay Timmons (CB) – A technician at nickel, elite change-of-direction, physical vs. the run. Undersized, but tough and battle-tested.

🌟 Class Overview:
5⭐ CB Chauncey Kennon – Ivins: “My favorite of FSU’s recent corner pulls.”
DL haul: Rankins, Crittendon, Cadeau all fit DC Tony White’s vision for size and versatility.
WR Devin Carter – Strong showing at OT7 Championships. Ivins: “Some of the best stuff we’ve seen.”

🔑 Bottom Line:
Don’t just look at the stars — this 2026 class is built with scheme fit, upside, and intangibles that could pay off big in Tallahassee.

⛏️💰️ Own a share in your own gold mine ⛏️ 💰️

This Company with a pre-money valuation of only C$3million is completing a C$3million seed equity raise for the restart of the fully permitted Gold Road mine in Arizona, USA. The current low company valuation offers near-term potential for a significant re-rating from the production start, a public quotation, and an additional one million ounces of gold exploration upside.

The cost to build Gold Road from scratch today would be close to US$100 million and management plans to grow production to 20,000 ounces of gold per year in 2025/26. In a strong gold price environment this could lead to a US$40+million EBITDA in 2026 and potential for a very healthy dividend yield paid in physical gold and silver.

Management has a proven track record and plans to go public in Q1 2026.

🚨🧱 Decision Coming for 4⭐ LB Rodney Colton Jr. 🧱🚨

Florida State is in the final three for elite linebacker Rodney Colton Jr., who is set to announce his college decision this Saturday.

📍 Finalists:
• Florida State
• Ole Miss
• Colorado

🌟 The Profile:
• 6'1", 220 lbs | Newnan (GA) HS
• Consensus 4-star
• No. 14 LB nationally (Top247)
• Top 25 prospect in Georgia’s 2026 class

🧠 Why It’s Close:
Colton visited all three schools in June and spoke glowingly about Ole Miss’ defensive scheme and development plan. Growing up in SEC territory gives the Rebels an edge — but FSU and Coach Norvell are firmly in the mix.

🔑 Bottom Line:
This recruitment has no clear favorite. With SEC roots, a standout June visit to Tallahassee, and a wildcard like Colorado in the mix, Colton’s choice will be one to watch.

📉🧱 FSU Misses on 4⭐ CB Samari Matthews 🧱📉

Florida State was in the running for one of the top cornerbacks in the 2026 class — but Samari Matthews is heading to Austin.

📍 The Decision:
• 4⭐ CB Samari Matthews (Cornelius, NC)
• Chose Texas over FSU, Miami, and South Carolina
• No. 119 overall | No. 12 CB | No. 7 in NC (Top247)

🧠 Why It Stings:
FSU hosted Matthews in June and made a strong push, but the Longhorns had long been the team to beat. Matthews said he’s "always liked Texas" — and their College Football Playoff run sealed the deal.

🔑 Bottom Line:
With five-star Chauncey Kennon already committed, the Seminoles' secondary haul remains elite — but losing a national blue-chip target to a CFP contender is a reminder of the high-stakes recruiting battles FSU is now fighting.

🎯 Jamie Arnold Projected as Top-10 MLB Draft Pick 🎯

The 2025 MLB Draft begins this Sunday, and Florida State ace Jamie Arnold is poised to become the program’s next first-rounder — with multiple outlets projecting him in the Top 10.

📈 Where He’s Mocked:
MLB.com (Jonathan Mayo): No. 8 to Toronto | No. 4 overall prospect
ESPN (Kiley McDaniel): No. 8 to Toronto | No. 5 overall prospect
CBS Sports (Mike Axisa): No. 6 to Pittsburgh
USA Today (Gabe Lacques): No. 8 to Toronto
Bleacher Report (Tim Kelly): No. 10 to Chicago White Sox

🗣️ The Buzz:
Arnold’s elite fastball and polished college resume have him viewed as a plug-and-play arm for teams looking to boost their rotation quickly. Pittsburgh and Toronto are considered ideal fits.

🎓 Also Watch:
Alex Lodise, FSU shortstop, is projected to go between picks 36–48 in multiple mocks

📅 Key Dates:
Rounds 1–3: Sunday, July 13 at 6 PM (MLB Network, ESPN, MLB.com)
Rounds 4–20: Monday, July 14 at 11:30 AM (MLB.com)

🔑 Bottom Line:
Arnold’s ascent is almost complete. He’s gone from dominant college starter to a near-lock for the first 10 picks — and he’ll soon be a major ambassador for FSU baseball at the next level.

🏈🚀 Keon Coleman Named to NFL.com's 2025 All-Breakout Team 🚀🏈

Former Seminole standout Keon Coleman is turning heads at the next level. NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks included the Buffalo Bills wideout on his 2025 All-Breakout Team for offense — citing Coleman’s elite frame, ball skills, and chemistry with MVP QB Josh Allen.

📊 What Brooks Wrote:
“Coleman’s superior size and superb ball skills should help him take advantage of favorable matchups… He could shine as the cheat code on the perimeter.”

📈 Rookie Recap (2024):
• 29 catches, 556 yards, 4 TDs
• 12 receptions of 20+ yards
• 4 receptions of 40+ yards

🔑 Bottom Line:
Coleman’s sophomore surge is being teed up by one of the league’s most dangerous passing attacks. Expect red zone dominance and explosive plays — just like he delivered at Doak.

And that’s a wrap!

That’s a wrap for today’s edition.

From academic milestones to future NFL breakout stars, FSU continues to prove it’s built for more than just Saturdays. Stay locked in as major recruiting decisions — and MLB dreams — unfold this weekend.

Enjoy the weekend, Chief.
