🌟 Alonzo Russell Earns Third Olympic Bid 🌟

Florida State alum Alonzo Russell has secured his third bid to the Olympic Games, representing the Bahamas. Russell will compete as part of the mixed 4x400-meter relay team, which qualified for the Paris Olympics through the World Relays Championships earlier this year.

Russell has been a steadfast representative for the Bahamas at the Olympics since 2016. He earned a bronze medal in the 4x400 relay during his first Olympic appearance and also competed in the 400 meters at the 2020 Olympic Games.

During his tenure with the FSU men's track and field team from 2013-14, Russell accumulated three All-American honors. His impressive performances have made him a standout alumnus of Florida State.

Russell becomes the 61st Seminole with ties to FSU track and field to compete in the Olympics. FSU has maintained a presence at every Olympic Games since 1972. This year, FSU will be represented by six athletes in Paris, including:

Former Florida State soccer player Emily Sams (Madril) has been named an alternate for the 22-person roster of the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
