🏀🎯 FSU Basketball's Deep 2027 Recruiting Board 🎯🏀
Loucks and his staff are chasing a long list of blue-chip targets for the 2027 class, and two of them made real news this week.
The No. 22 national recruit trimmed his list to FSU, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt, and has an official visit to Tallahassee scheduled for next month. He praised Loucks personally for calling him and telling him he sees him as a draftable player, though his father's recent hire as a Georgia assistant makes the Bulldogs the presumed favorite.
The No. 67 national prospect had trimmed his list to 10 schools including FSU, but reopened his recruitment after a strong Peach Jam performance drew a wave of new interest, notably Houston. FSU remains involved, though Jenkins' only scheduled official visit right now is to Georgia Tech in early August.
FSU's list runs deep beyond those two: five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry remains a longtime priority, five-star center Lewis Uvwo (a Peach Jam standout averaging six blocks per game) and five-star forward CJ Rosser are both firmly in the mix, and four-star Oneal Delancy, who's already visited, has FSU competing but not favored against Florida, Houston, Maryland and Ohio State.
Why It Matters: Loucks is casting an extremely wide net across multiple tiers of the class. Landing even two or three of these names would be a significant follow-up to a top-16 2026 haul. 🍢
The four-star edge rusher we've been tracking all week made it official, picking FSU over Syracuse, Miami and more than 30 other offers.
📋 The Details
Dobson reclassified up from 2028 to 2027 as part of the move, and cited both proximity to home and a lifelong connection to the program growing up. Edge rushers coach Nick Williams led the recruitment, with Dobson specifically praising him as a mentor who sends him extra film and technique work beyond typical recruiting contact.
FSU plans to use him at defensive end and linebacker. He finished his sophomore season at Plantation with 72 tackles and 14 sacks, and follows former Cypress Bay teammate Za'Kari Johnson, who made the same 2028-to-2027 reclassification and FSU commitment move earlier this month.
Why It Matters: FSU has now landed the same reclassification pipeline twice out of one South Florida program in a matter of weeks. That's the kind of relationship-building that could pay off again in future cycles. 🍢
FSU returns zero snap-for-snap starters up front, but the transfer additions bring more accumulated experience than last year's group did.
✅ The Left Side Is Set
Auburn transfer Xavier Chaplin (6-8, 346) starts at left tackle protecting Ashton Daniels' blindside, coming off an up-and-down 2025 season after ranking as the nation's second-highest-rated transfer tackle a year earlier.
🤔 The Right Side Is a Battle
Bowling Green transfer Nate Pabst is the presumed favorite at right tackle after conceding just one sack last season in the MAC, though sources say the staff also has real belief in Stephen F. Austin's Chimdia Nwaiwu, whose 88-inch wingspan has coaches excited about his ceiling. One scenario has Pabst kicking inside to guard, where he was actually listed for preseason All-ACC voting, to let Nwaiwu's athleticism play outside.
Why It Matters: Last year's line finished a respectable 14th nationally in pass-blocking grade despite coming together late. This group has more raw experience on paper, but the right tackle competition will say a lot about the ceiling. 🍢

Robinson is already drawing early 2027 NFL Draft attention, and multiple factors suggest his production could actually climb this fall.

NFL Stock Exchange's Connor Rogers ranked Robinson 12th among 2027 receiver prospects, praising his zone-coverage instincts and physicality working through contact on screens.

A deeper receiver room, headlined by four-star freshmen Jasen Lopez and Devin Carter plus deep threat Micahi Danzy, should pull coverage away from Robinson more often than last season. Ashton Daniels' height (6-foot-2, compared to the 5-foot-10 Tommy Castellanos) also unlocks the middle of the field again; Robinson saw just 30 targets between the numbers last year, a number analysts expect to rise given Daniels' willingness to work over the middle and keep his eyes downfield when the pocket breaks down.

Why It Matters: A young program building this kind of academic foundation early is a good sign for its long-term culture, on top of whatever it does on the field. 🍢
