Texas A&M transfer Rylan Kennedy steps into the pass-rush role vacated by departed James Williams, and his 12.7 percent pressure rate last season would have led all of FSU's rotational rushers. FSU closed out its summer conditioning program by honoring the player the staff felt best embodied the standard, and the pick lines up with who teammates have been naming as leaders all offseason.
Breaking the Rock
Strength coach Josh Storms called Barker a model of consistency who's operated like a pro since day one, and Norvell singled him out by name at ACC Kickoff alongside Ja'Bril Rawls as one of the defense's clear leaders.
