Florida State alumna Emma Terebo shone brightly at the Olympic Games on Monday, advancing to the final of the women's 100 back. Representing France, Terebo made an impressive Olympic debut with a fifth-fastest heat time of 59.10, securing her spot in the semifinal.
In the evening semifinal, Terebo finished fourth with a time of 59.50, clinching the eighth position for Tuesday's final, set to take place at 2:56 p.m. (ET).
Upcoming Olympic Debuts:
Gloria Muzito: The flag bearer for Uganda will compete in the 100 free on Tuesday.
Julio Horrego: Set to swim in the 200 breaststroke, marking his second Olympic appearance.
Additionally, former FSU diver Molly Carlson will join NBC as a content creator for the Olympics. Competing for Team Canada in high diving, Carlson is a two-time World Aquatics silver medalist and currently ranks second in the 2024 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series.

Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has been named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, which recognizes the outstanding player in college football. Uiagalelei, who transferred to Florida State from Oregon State, has a career record of 30-10 with 9,451 yards of total offense.
His impressive stats include 8,319 passing yards and 57 touchdowns, along with 1,132 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
At Oregon State, Uiagalelei was a 2023 Davey O'Brien Award semifinalist, throwing for 2,638 yards and 21 touchdowns, and adding 219 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
He also spent three seasons at Clemson, where he ranks in the top-10 in program history for several passing and rushing categories.
Former FSU quarterback Jordan Travis was a Maxwell Award semifinalist in 2023, and Charlie Ward is FSU's only previous winner, taking home the honor during his Heisman Trophy season in 1993.
Season Opener: Uiagalelei and the Seminoles will kick off the season on August 24 in Dublin, Ireland, against Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.

Florida State has announced Sara Tisdale as the first head coach for the women's lacrosse team, bringing her wealth of experience in establishing successful programs to Tallahassee.
With a career record of 114-86, Tisdale has previously led Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Augustana College to early and sustained success.
Tisdale's Background:
Previous Roles: Coached the inaugural lacrosse teams at Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, and Augustana.
Achievements: Won four regular-season conference championships, three conference tournament titles, and produced numerous all-conference players and academic honorees.
Academic Focus: Tisdale's teams have been honored nine consecutive times for academic excellence by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association.
FSU Athletic Director Michael Alford praised Tisdale's ability to develop a winning culture both on and off the field. "Her teams win on the field and prioritize academics. She will fit right in with the standard of comprehensive excellence here," Alford stated.
Tisdale's Vision:
Immediate Goals: Build Florida State lacrosse into a championship-caliber program with a strong culture in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.
Inspiration: Tisdale is motivated by the support and investment in Seminole student-athletes. "Building Florida State lacrosse into a championship-caliber program...will be the immediate goal, and I cannot wait to get to work," she said.
Florida State's women's lacrosse program will begin NCAA competition in the spring of 2026.

Day 5 of Florida State's preseason camp was a mix of high-energy moments and minor mistakes as the Seminoles continued to refine their game. Consistency remains a key focus as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
Offensive Highlights:
Quarterback Performance:
DJ Uiagalelei: Displayed improved decision-making and quick reads, particularly in Pass Skelly drills. Highlighted his ability with precise throws to TE Kyle Morlock and explosive plays to WR Malik Benson. Uiagalelei continues to work on adding touch to his shorter throws.
Brock Glenn: Made notable splash plays with quick releases and good anticipation. Connected well with RBs Lawrance Toafili and Samuel Singleton, though some throws still need fine-tuning.
Running Game:
The running game showed significant improvement, with multiple backs making big plays. Roydell Williams and Caziah Holmes stood out with their physical and quick running styles.
Freshmen Kam Davis and Micahi Danzy continued to impress with their speed and vision.

Mount Zion (Illinois) four-star tight end JC Anderson is set to visit Florida State today as the Seminoles continue their sixth preseason practice. Anderson, standing at 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, confirmed his visit plans with Noles247 on Monday evening.
