📺 No College GameDay for FSU-Alabama Opener 📺

Despite hopes that ESPN’s College GameDay would open the 2025 season in Tallahassee, the iconic pregame show is heading to Columbus instead — choosing the Texas vs. Ohio State clash over FSU’s primetime opener against Alabama.

🎤 Corso’s Farewell:
This means FSU legend Lee Corso won’t get a sendoff in his old stomping grounds. The 89-year-old, who starred for the Noles in the 1950s, will conclude his nearly four-decade broadcasting career where it began: on national TV, surrounded by college football’s biggest stage.

🧠 The Backstory:
Some analysts speculated that FSU–Bama — a blue blood matchup and Corso’s alma mater — could be the emotional pick. But with Fox owning broadcast rights and Big Noon Kickoff already on site, ESPN opted for a ratings juggernaut in Columbus.

🏈 Kickoff Reminder:
FSU opens the season August 30 at 3:30 p.m. on ABC — a massive opportunity nonetheless, even without GameDay in town.

And that’s a wrap!

That’s it for today’s Brief — from Eugene to Oakmont, FSU’s finest are chasing greatness across the country. Whether it's on the track, the courts, the course, or the diamond, the Noles are making their presence felt.

We’ll keep tracking the wins, honors, and headlines all summer long.

Stay cool out there — and as always, Go Noles 🍢
