4-Star WR Daylan McCutcheon

McCutcheon has visited Ohio State and USC. FSU gets its chance on June 21-23, with the Seminoles and Trojans currently leading.

4-Star RB Byron Louis

Louis has taken official visits to Miami and Wisconsin. FSU's communication has been consistent, making the Seminoles the leader.

🏈 FSU Player Poised for Breakout Season in 2024: Malik Benson 🏈

247 Sports has profiled 10 college football stars hiding in plain sight, and one of our Noles made the list. Malik Benson, a senior wide receiver, is set to make a significant impact at Florida State after transferring from Alabama.

Last season, Benson caught 13 passes for 162 yards with the Crimson Tide. Known for his athletic prowess, Benson has been described as an "athletic freakshow" and is expected to fill the void left by Keon Coleman.

"He's got a more open pathway to playing time in Tallahassee and could emerge as a playmaker," said 247Sports transfer analyst Chris Hummer.

Benson's transition to FSU is highly anticipated by both coaches and fans alike, with expectations for him to become a key player in the Seminoles' offense this season.

Other stars highlighted by 247 Sports include:

  • Peyton Bowen, S, Oklahoma: Expected to shine in the SEC after a strong freshman year.

  • Zachariah Branch, WR, USC: A dynamic playmaker poised for a breakout sophomore season.

  • RJ Oben, EDGE, Notre Dame: Consistent pass-rusher looking to make an impact at a bigger program.

  • Eugene Wilson, WR, Florida: Primary weapon in the Gators' offense entering his sophomore season.

  • Tommi Hill, CB, Nebraska: Standout cornerback ready for a big season after switching from receiver.

  • CJ Baxter, RB, Texas: Promising running back set to excel behind an improved offensive line.

  • Deontae Lawson, LB, Alabama: Talented linebacker aiming for a standout season.

  • Dillon Bell, WR/TE, Georgia: Versatile player expected to break out in a hybrid tight end role.

  • Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State: Emerging as a key target in the Buckeyes' offense.

🏈 Inside Look: Ladarian Clardy's Official Visit to FSU 🏈

Florida State hosted its first major official visit weekend of the summer, and four-star defensive back recruit Ladarian Clardy was among the visitors.

Thanks to a detailed video posted by Clardy's older brother on YouTube, fans get a behind-the-scenes look at the multi-day visit. The hour-long video, titled "Watch My Lil Brother's Official Visit At FSU |BEHIND THE SCENE| Will He Commit," showcases various activities and experiences from the visit.

Clardy left FSU with the Seminoles as the leader in his recruitment. The Pensacola product attended an FSU youth camp in 2020 and has long been familiar with the program.

Offered last month, Clardy is also considering UCF, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Washington, and Miami, with official visits planned to all these schools by summer’s end.

247Sports ranks Clardy as the nation's No. 178 overall prospect and No. 15 safety.

⚾️ FSU Baseball in the College World Series: A Historic Showdown ⚾️

The 2024 College World Series promises an electrifying conclusion to the college baseball season, featuring seven national seeds and elite talent from the SEC and ACC, including FSU.

The Seminoles, under Coach Link Jarrett, have made an impressive turnaround, earning their 24th CWS appearance and first since 2019.

SEC-ACC Showdown:

This year’s CWS is historically significant, with teams exclusively from the SEC and ACC for the first time since 1948. The dominance of these conferences highlights the season's parity and competitive landscape.

Florida State's Road to Omaha:

FSU’s journey included a dominant 24-spot win over UConn in the Tallahassee Super Regional and a hard-fought 12-inning victory, showcasing their versatility and resilience. Key players like Jamie Arnold and Brennen Oxford have been instrumental, with Arnold boasting a 2.77 ERA and an 11-3 record. The Seminoles aim to leverage their balanced lineup and strong pitching to make a deep run in Omaha.

Key Competitors:

  • Tennessee: The top seed, led by Tony Vitello, seeks its first national title. Despite a stumble against Evansville, the Vols’ depth and well-rounded team make them formidable.

  • North Carolina: With Vance Honeycutt’s explosive hitting, the Tar Heels are a significant threat, having already delivered multiple walk-off victories in the postseason.

  • Kentucky: Making its first CWS appearance, Kentucky’s clutch performances and strong pitching staff, including Trey Pooser and Mason Moore, could propel them to a national title.

  • Texas A&M: Despite losing star Braden Montgomery to injury, the Aggies’ deep lineup and versatile players like Kaeden Kent keep them competitive.

Additional Teams:

  • Florida: Overcoming a shaky regular season, Florida has found its stride, backed by elite talent like Jac Caglianone and a rejuvenated pitching staff.

  • Virginia: Known for their potent offense and improving pitching, the Cavaliers pose a significant challenge with a balanced and relentless approach.

  • NC State: The Wolfpack, with streaky performances and key hitters like Alec Makarewicz, look to continue their hot streak in Omaha.

Game Schedule:

  • June 14: North Carolina vs. Virginia at 2:00 p.m. ET; Tennessee vs. Florida State at 7:00 p.m. ET.

  • June 15: Kentucky vs. NC State at 2:00 p.m. ET; Texas A&M vs. Florida at 7:00 p.m. ET.
