π FSU and Clemson Sue ACC Over TV Payouts π
This is interesting because the ACC is basically feeding into one of Clemson's arguments: That Clemson isn't a party to the ESPN deal, the ACC is.
The ACC doesn't, in Clemson's argument, need Clemson (or FSU) for the conference to fulfill its obligations in the deal.

Lawsuit Overview:
Parties Involved:
Plaintiffs: Florida State and Clemson
Defendant: ACC
Core Issue: FSU and Clemson are challenging the ACC's grant of media rights, which they argue has resulted in significantly lower television payouts compared to the Big Ten and SEC. The lawsuit seeks to renegotiate or nullify these agreements to secure better financial terms.
ACC's Response:
Jim Phillips' Stance: ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips criticized the lawsuits as harmful to the league's unity and reputation but is committed to defending the conference's position in court. He emphasized that the grant of rights was unanimously agreed upon and celebrated when established.
Future Outlook: Phillips remains confident in the ACC's strength, citing the recent additions of Cal, Stanford, and SMU as evidence of the conference's viability and growth. He affirmed that FSU and Clemson would continue to receive equal treatment from the conference despite the ongoing legal dispute.
