🏹 Welcome to The Chief Brief! 🏹

Happy Saturday, Seminole!

From Phoenix to Tallahassee to Truist Park, Seminoles — past, present, and future — are making headlines:

👟 Aaron Britt Jr. is on the rise
The 2027 point guard from The Villages cracked the national Top 50 after a standout Section 7 weekend. His bond with FSU assistant Michael Fly is already one to watch.

💣 Cal Raleigh, HR King
With 32 bombs before the All-Star break, the former FSU catcher leads the majors and will headline this year’s MLB Home Run Derby. His 15-year-old brother might even be behind the plate.

🔭 FSU’s 2027 Future 50 outlook
From 5⭐ OT Mark Matthews to Bama commit Jabarrius Garror, the ‘Noles are pushing early and aggressively with elite underclassmen — and it’s working.

🦍 4⭐ TE Heze Kent locks in his final four
FSU is still very much alive in a high-stakes recruitment set to wrap July 12. Can the ‘Noles close strong and pair Kent with Xavier Tiller?

📈 A Top-10 recruiting class? Already.
With 12 blue-chips and 20 commits, Florida State’s 2026 class ranks among the best in the nation. The summer isn’t over — but Norvell & Co. are already stacking wins.

👟 4⭐ PG Aaron Britt Jr. Climbs into Top 50 After Standout Section 7 👟

Florida State basketball has its eyes on a rising star. After a breakout performance at the Section 7 showcase in Phoenix, 2027 point guard Aaron Britt Jr. has jumped into the national Top 50 — now ranked No. 48 overall by 247Sports.

📈 Rising Profile:
• 5’11”, 155 lbs | The Villages Charter (FL)
• Moved from outside Top 75 → No. 48 nationally
• Dynamic scorer and elite playmaker
• Known for quickness, energy, and leadership at PG
• Strong on-ball defender with high motor

🎯 Recruiting Snapshot:
• High-major offers: Florida State, California, Ole Miss
• Also offered by: Jacksonville, Kennesaw State
• Britt on FSU: “Coach [Michael] Fly is my guy. We talk every day — it’s a good relationship.”

🗣️ Britt on His Game:

“A dog, a leader — I’m big on being a leader… always smiling, always happy, just playing my game.”

🔭 What’s Next:
• Another big showing expected this weekend at GBCA Southeast Regional
• Visits not yet scheduled — recruitment still wide open

🔑 Bottom Line:
Florida State’s early relationship with Britt — led by assistant Michael Fly — could pay off in a major way as his stock rises. He’s undersized, but his game speaks loud.

💣 Cal Raleigh to Compete in 2025 Home Run Derby 💣

Former Florida State star Cal Raleigh is headed to the big stage — the Seattle Mariners catcher will compete in the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby at Truist Park in Atlanta on July 14, part of All-Star Weekend festivities.

🔥 By the Numbers:
MLB HR Leader: 32 (4 more than Judge, 4 more than Ohtani)
MLB RBI Leader: 69
Slash Line: .275 / .380 / .651
Historic Pace: Most HRs pre-All-Star break by any catcher and any switch-hitter

🎯 Derby Setup:
• Cal’s dad, Todd Raleigh, will pitch to him
• His 15-year-old brother, “T,” will likely be the catcher behind him

🌟 All-Star Watch:
• Not officially named yet, but trailed only Aaron Judge in AL voting after Phase 1
• Safe to say: He’s a lock

🔑 Bottom Line:
From Tallahassee to the top of the majors — Cal Raleigh is having a monster year. Now, he gets a national spotlight to show the country what Noles already knew: he mashes.

Own a share in your own gold mine

This Company with a pre-money valuation of only C$3million is completing a C$3million seed equity raise for the restart of the fully permitted Gold Road mine in Arizona, USA. The current low company valuation offers near-term potential for a significant re-rating from the production start, a public quotation, and an additional one million ounces of gold exploration upside.

The cost to build Gold Road from scratch today would be close to US$100 million and management plans to grow production to 20,000 ounces of gold per year in 2025/26. In a strong gold price environment this could lead to a US$40+million EBITDA in 2026 and potential for a very healthy dividend yield paid in physical gold and silver.

Management has a proven track record and plans to go public in Q1 2026.

🔭 2027 Future 50: FSU in the Mix for Rising Stars 🔭

Under Armour’s Future 50 brought together the top junior recruits in the country this weekend — and several rising stars had Florida State near the top of their lists.

Here’s who the ‘Noles are already making waves with early in the 2027 cycle:

💥 5⭐ OT Mark Matthews
• FSU & Florida leading in early contact
• Visited: FSU, Miami, Florida
• Building relationship with OL coach Herb Hand
• One of the top linemen in the nation

🔥 4⭐ EDGE Chris Whitehead
• FSU was the first to contact him June 15
• Shouting out D-line coach D’Mitri Emmanuel
• Also high on: Tennessee, Ohio State, Penn State, Va Tech

💨 4⭐ RB Victor Scott
• FSU, Florida, and Baylor all mentioned as early standouts
• Still in early stage — few visits so far

🔒 4⭐ S Larry Moon
• IMG Academy product
• FSU and Florida are Top 10 locks
• Already visited several national powers

🎯 3⭐ LB Deion Jackson
• FSU and Notre Dame lead the way
• Has visited FSU the most so far
• Strong bond with LBs coach Ernie Sims

👀 4⭐ EDGE Jabarrius Garror (Bama commit)
• FSU still pushing hard to flip him
• Plans to attend FSU’s opener vs. Alabama
• Auburn & South Carolina also in the mix

🧱 4⭐ DB Kamarui Dorsey
• Targeted at both CB and S by FSU staff
• In top group with Georgia, GT, and Ohio State
• Recruited heavily by Surtain Sr. & Evan Cooper

🔑 Bottom Line:
FSU’s 2027 board is already loaded with blue-chip potential — and the staff’s aggressive early approach is paying off with top-tier prospects nationwide.

🦍 4⭐ TE Heze Kent Says FSU Still in Final Four 🦍

Florida State made a strong impression on four-star tight end Heze Kent, who’s set to announce his commitment on July 12. While many consider Florida the leader, FSU's versatility pitch and long-term relationship are keeping them in the mix.

📍 Prospect Snapshot:
• 6’6”, 285 lbs | Brunswick, GA
• No. 4 TE nationally | Dual-sport athlete (also plays Wildcat QB)
• OV’d to: FSU, UF, Miami, Texas, Georgia Tech
• Finalists: Florida, Miami, FSU, Texas

🎙 Kent on FSU:
• “They preach the same message for four years now — that I’m a top priority.”
• “Tallahassee is fun. There’s a family vibe here.”
• “They’ll use me how I’m used in high school — Wildcat QB, in-line, everything.”

🧠 Why It Matters:
• Kent is one of the most unique TE prospects in the country — a massive, athletic chess piece
• Would pair with Xavier Tiller to form one of the most dynamic TE duos in the nation

🔑 Bottom Line:
FSU has been in this one from the beginning — and they’ll need to close strong if they want to beat out the Gators and Canes. July 12 is shaping up to be a big day.

📈 FSU Surging on Trail with Top-10 2026 Class 📈

June has been a recruiting masterclass for Florida State. With 12 commitments this month alone, the Seminoles have vaulted into the Top 10 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Rankings — and momentum is still building.

🔥 Key June Commits:
• 4⭐ WR Jasen Lopez (flipped from Miami battle)
• 4⭐ TE Xavier Tiller (flipped momentum from Auburn)
• 4⭐ QB Jaden O’Neal (flipped from Oklahoma)
• 4⭐ WR Devin Carter (flipped from Auburn)
• 4⭐ DL Tico Crittendon (chose FSU over Georgia)
• 4⭐ DB Jay Timmons (flipped from Indiana)

🎯 Blue-Chip Breakdown:
20 total commits in 2026 class
12 are four-stars — only five other programs (USC, Notre Dame, A&M, Georgia, OSU) can say that
5 four-star WRs committed — all recruited by new WR coach Tim Harris Jr.

👀 What’s Next:
July 6 – 5⭐ CB Chauncey Kennon decision (FSU trending)
July 12 – 4⭐ TE Heze Kent (FSU still in strong contention)
OL Targets – Ben Mubenga (FSU vs. Arkansas) and DaRon Parks expected to decide soon
TE Watch – FSU making a strong late push for 3⭐ Landen Miree
LB Battle – FSU battling for 4⭐s Rodney Colton & DQ Forkpa (TJ White expected to pick Tennessee)

🔑 Bottom Line:
FSU’s 2026 class is stacking up elite talent across every position group. With summer decisions looming, the ‘Noles are on pace to finish the offseason with a top-5 class — if they handle business this fall.

And that’s a wrap!

That’s a wrap for today’s edition, and if this recruiting stretch has taught us anything, it’s that the new-look Florida State staff isn’t just playing catch-up — they’re dictating the pace.

Whether it’s Aaron Britt Jr. rising through the rankings, Cal Raleigh mashing his way into MLB history, or blue-chip targets circling commitment dates — the ‘Noles are everywhere. And July could be even bigger.

Until next time — keep your eye on the scoreboard, the commitment ticker, and maybe your Cornbread gummies.

Chief out.
