Happy Sunday, Seminole!

It’s another jam-packed edition of The Chief Brief — and we’re closing June with heat.

🧨 Oregon transfer Cole Stokes joins FSU’s bullpen with a 99 MPH fastball and filthy slider.

🐐 Lonni Alameda is officially headed to the Florida Sports Hall of Fame — her resume? A scroll.

📊 FSU’s 2026 class ranks No. 8 with top-5 potential — we’ve got details on where things stand and who’s still in play.

🧠 Several top 2027 prospects name FSU among early favorites after Future 50 at IMG.

🚀 WR Gavin Blackwell is healthy, humble, and hungry to prove himself in Tallahassee.

Let’s get into it 👇

Experience safe and effective relief from chronic pain with Nápreva.

Over 50 million Americans, including those with demanding jobs, active lifestyles, or conditions like arthritis, struggle with chronic pain. Many also face harmful side effects from opioids, steroids, and over-the-counter painkillers. Nápreva's plant-based terpene formula provides rapid relief, helping users sleep better and reduce stress and anxiety. Clinical studies suggest terpenes may offer more effective relief than traditional drugs—without the unwanted side effects.

🔥 Oregon Transfer Cole Stokes Brings 99 MPH Heat to FSU Bullpen 🔥

Florida State baseball has landed another high-powered arm via the portal. Oregon right-hander Cole Stokes has committed to the Seminoles, bringing elite velocity and two years of eligibility with him to Tallahassee.

📍 Player Profile:
• 6’6”, 230 lbs | Redondo Union HS (CA)
• Former No. 67 overall prospect in Perfect Game’s 2023 class
• Two seasons at Oregon before transferring to FSU

📈 2024 Season at Oregon:
• 24 appearances | 20.1 IP | 3.10 ERA | 1.23 WHIP
• 39 strikeouts | .130 opponent BA | 38.6% K-rate
• Allowed just 9 hits all season — but control remains a work-in-progress (16 BB, 15 HBP)

⚾ Pitch Arsenal:
• Fastball: Upper-90s (touched 99 MPH) with heavy arm-side run from a low slot
• Slider: Mid-80s sweeping action — sharp and deceptive out of hand

🔑 Bottom Line:
Stokes is an imposing presence on the mound with one of the liveliest arms in college baseball. If FSU can sharpen his command, he has the stuff to become a lights-out late-inning weapon in 2025.

🏆 Lonni Alameda to Join Florida Sports Hall of Fame in 2025 🏆

FSU softball legend Lonni Alameda is officially Hall of Fame bound. The Florida Sports Hall of Fame announced Friday that Alameda will be inducted as part of its 2025 class — becoming just the second female from Florida State to receive the honor.

👑 Legacy by the Numbers:
• 17 seasons at FSU | 800+ wins | 78% win rate
• 5 Women’s College World Series trips (2014, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023)
• 2018 National Champion
• 9 ACC Tournament titles | 8 ACC regular-season titles
• 21 All-America honors for 15 different players
• 7x ACC Coach of the Year | 2018 NFCA National Staff of the Year

🔥 Dominance:
• NCAA Tournament every season since 2009
• 11 straight NCAA Regionals hosted — one of just four schools to do so
• Championship Series in last 3 WCWS appearances (’18, ’21, ’23)
• 7 ACC Pitchers of the Year coached
• 13 top-20 finishes in team ERA

🌟 Coaching Impact:
Already a 2023 NFCA Hall of Fame inductee, Alameda is recognized nationally as one of the sport’s elite pitching minds and culture builders. She joins FSU greats like Bobby Bowden, Deion Sanders, and Mike Martin in the Florida Sports Hall.

🔑 Bottom Line:
Alameda’s resume speaks for itself — national titles, elite pitching, and relentless consistency. Now, she takes her place among Florida’s all-time sporting legends.

⛏️💰️ Own a share in your own gold mine ⛏️ 💰️

This Company with a pre-money valuation of only C$3million is completing a C$3million seed equity raise for the restart of the fully permitted Gold Road mine in Arizona, USA. The current low company valuation offers near-term potential for a significant re-rating from the production start, a public quotation, and an additional one million ounces of gold exploration upside.

The cost to build Gold Road from scratch today would be close to US$100 million and management plans to grow production to 20,000 ounces of gold per year in 2025/26. In a strong gold price environment this could lead to a US$40+million EBITDA in 2026 and potential for a very healthy dividend yield paid in physical gold and silver.

Management has a proven track record and plans to go public in Q1 2026.

📊 2026 Recruiting Class Check-In: FSU Sits at No. 8 Nationally 📊

Florida State’s 2026 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the nation’s best — currently ranked No. 8 in the country with 20 commitments. But with the cycle far from over, here’s where things stand — and where the ‘Noles are still looking to add.

📋 Current Class Breakdown (20 Commits):
• QB: 1
• RB: 1
• WR: 5
• TE: 1
• OT: 0
• OG: 3
• DE: 1
• DT: 2
• LB: 2
• CB: 2
• S: 2
🧮 Projected Total: 23–26

🔎 Position-by-Position Snapshot:

QB: Done — 4⭐ Jaden O’Neal flipped from Oklahoma and portal add Jaylen King seals the room.
🔄 RB: Set for now with 4⭐ Amari Thomas. FSU could make a late run at Carsyn Baker.
WR: Likely finished with 5 commits. 4⭐ Keeyun Chapman is still out there, but trending UNC.
🧮 TE: 4⭐ Xavier Tiller is in. FSU wants two — still pushing for Heze Kent and Landen Miree.
🚧 OL: Three interior guys are locked in — now it’s all about tackles. Ben Mubenga (Arkansas trending), Da’Ron Parks, and Wilson Zierer are key names to monitor.
⚠️ Edge/JACK: One of the thinnest rooms. No true edge commits yet. 3⭐ Chris Addison and 3⭐ Katrell Webb are the best bets. 5⭐ Xavier Griffin still technically in play but trending ‘Bama.
🔥 DT: Solid trio already on board, but FSU wants one more. 4⭐ Earnest Rankins (FSU vs. Auburn) is the big target.
🔍 LB: Two solid takes. One more likely to come. 4⭐s DQ Forkpa and Rodney Colton Jr. are top targets. Miami commit Jordan Campbell is a possible flip to watch.
🛡️ DB: Class looks elite. 4⭐ Jay Timmons is a headliner. If 5⭐ Chauncey Kennon joins (and he’s trending that way), the DB group may be complete.

🔑 Bottom Line:
FSU’s 2026 class is top-10 nationally with elite balance, but there’s work left to do in the trenches — especially at offensive tackle and edge rusher. Summer commitments will clarify the board, but holding onto current pledges and winning a few more top-tier battles could push the ‘Noles into top-5 territory by signing day.

🧠 UA Future 50: Top 2027 Recruits Shine — FSU Targeting Several 🧠

The 2025 UA Next Future 50 brought 50+ of the top rising juniors in the country to IMG Academy, and several Florida State targets stood out — both on the field and in their recruiting updates. Here’s a snapshot of what we learned:

🌟 Top Names to Know

🏈 Elijah Haven (QB, No. 1 overall)
• Nation’s top player visited Florida, with Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and LSU among schools expected to make his top 10 this fall
• FSU not yet in serious contention but may enter the mix later

💪 Mark Matthews (OT, St. Thomas Aquinas)
• 5⭐ and FSU target said Florida State is one of the schools standing out
• Has already visited FSU, Florida, and Miami
• Playing time and OL development are key factors

🔥 Chris Whitehead (EDGE, Virginia)
• Reconfirmed FSU was first to contact him June 15
• FSU still in top group with Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Penn State
• Said visiting Tennessee last fall was a major highlight

🧱 Joshua Dobson (CB, No. 7 overall)
• Visited FSU and Florida in June
• Vols and Clemson currently recruiting him hardest

💪 Deion Jackson (LB, Fort Pierce Westwood)
• FSU and Notre Dame are early standouts
• Strong relationship with John Papuchis and Ernie Sims
• Has visited FSU more than any other school

🛡️ Kamarui Dorsey (DB, GA)
• Likes FSU for both CB and S roles
• Being recruited hard by Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper
• Final group includes Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Ohio State

💨 Julius Jones (WR, St. Thomas Aquinas)
• FSU is in the mix with Oregon, Miami, LSU, and Notre Dame
• His father played at Notre Dame but says no pressure to follow in his footsteps

🔒️ Zayden Gamble (S, St. Thomas Aquinas)
• FSU trails Florida and Miami in early recruitment
• Still very early in process

📊 Additional Names to Monitor:
• Kennedy Brown (OL) — FSU not listed but still early
• Hayden Stepp (CB) — No FSU mention; Ohio State standing out
• Peyton Houston (QB), Colt Lumpris (ATH), Kasi Currie (DL) — National recruitment heating up

📋️ Bottom Line:
Florida State is already making a strong impression with key 2027 targets, particularly at DB, EDGE, and OL. Coaches like D'Mitri Emmanuel, Herb Hand, and Patrick Surtain Sr. are establishing crucial relationships early — setting the table for another elite class in the years to come.

🔥 Gavin Blackwell Brings Speed, Experience, and Selflessness to WR Room 🔥

FSU’s receiver room added another seasoned weapon this summer — and his mindset might be just as important as his skillset. Former UNC standout Gavin Blackwell is embracing his fresh start in Tallahassee with humility, hunger, and team-first energy.

👟 Who Is Gavin Blackwell?
• Redshirt senior WR | Transferred from UNC
• 5'11" speedster with deep-threat ability
• 2022: 18 catches, 239 yards, 1 TD as a redshirt freshman
• Limited by injuries in 2023 and 2024
• Former 4⭐ recruit | 146 catches, 2,702 yards, 33 TDs in high school

📣 Why FSU?
• Recruited early in high school by Willie Taggart
• Drawn to FSU’s tradition and belief from Norvell, Malzahn & Tim Harris Jr.
• “They trusted me. They believe I can still get to the next level.”
• Offense feels familiar — “plug and play” from his UNC system under Chip Lindsey

🧠 Veteran Presence:
• Asked Duce Robinson and Squirrel White if they were comfortable with another transfer joining
• Mentors younger WRs on route-running and recovery
• “I’m trying to pour into them…so they’re not in college five years like me.”

🚀 His Game:
• Elite speed and burst
• Great route-runner with reliable hands (thanks to a baseball background)
• Wants to showcase YAC ability in 2025

🔑 Bottom Line:
Blackwell is a high-character addition with big-play potential — and he’s locked in. With a new system, three veteran transfers, and rising underclassmen, FSU’s WR room might just be the most quietly dangerous unit on the field this fall.

And that’s a wrap!

Thanks for riding with us this month — and what a month it’s been.

Between Lonni Alameda making history, FSU baseball adding 99 MPH firepower, and the football staff chasing blue-chip after blue-chip, the ‘Noles are locked in on every front.

July brings decision dates, summer workouts, and the home stretch before fall camp.
Stay cool. Stay locked. And stay tuned.

Talk soon,
—Chief
