⚾️ Arnold Shines as FSU Advances to Regional Final ⚾️

Behind another pitching gem from staff ace Jamie Arnold, Florida State (44-15) secured a 5-2 win over UCF (36-20) in the Tallahassee Regional. Arnold struck out 12 batters and allowed just two runs over 7.0 innings. FSU's offense contributed 11 hits and scored all five runs in the first four innings.

Game Highlights:

  • Cam Smith: Three hits, including a two-run home run, pushing his season total to 96 hits.

  • Marco Dinges: Three hits and an RBI, tying a career high.

  • Key Plays: Daniel Cantu extended his hitting streak to 12 games with an RBI single. Jaime Ferrer hit two doubles.

Arnold’s Performance: Arnold improved to 11-3, recording his 146th strikeout of the season, seventh-most in FSU history. His 12 strikeouts against UCF are the most in postseason play for an FSU pitcher since 2017.

  • Eight players have scored at least 40 runs, the most since 2002.

🏈 FSU Offers Three-Star DL London Simmons 🏈

Florida State extended an offer to Flowood (Miss.) Hatfield Academy three-star defensive lineman London Simmons after he spoke with head coach Mike Norvell. Simmons, standing at 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, impressed Norvell with his work ethic. Defensive line coach Odell Haggins also played a role in the offer.

Recruitment Status:

  • Official visits scheduled for NC State, Alabama, and Arkansas in June.

  • Planning an official visit to FSU in the fall.

  • Offers include Alabama, LSU, and Duke among others.

Simmons recorded 80 tackles, 25 tackles-for-loss, 15 sacks, and three forced fumbles, leading his team to a state championship. He is ranked No. 64 defensive lineman nationally by 247Sports.

🏈 FSU and Michigan Battle for 2026 QB Brady Smigiel 🏈

Quarterback dominoes are already falling in the 2026 cycle, and FSU is making a strong push for Newbury Park (Calif.) four-star QB Brady Smigiel. The 6-foot-4.5, 215-pound prospect is set to visit Michigan in June and return to FSU in late July.

Recruitment Highlights:

  • Smigiel threw for over 4,200 yards and 52 touchdowns as a sophomore.

  • FSU impressed him with their strong QB room and coaching staff.

  • Smigiel ranks No. 39 overall and No. 5 QB in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

FSU's Strategy:

  • Head Coach Mike Norvell and the staff are fostering a strong relationship with Smigiel, emphasizing their cohesive QB room and dedication to player development.

🏈 Jalen Ramsey Supports FSU's Recruitment Efforts 🏈

Former Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey continues to aid the Seminoles, this time by Facetiming with four-star DB Onis Konanbanny during his official visit to Tallahassee.

Konanbanny, who is also considering Tennessee, LSU, and North Carolina, praised FSU’s defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. for his technical coaching style.

Recruitment Highlights:

  • Konanbanny ranks as the No. 28 cornerback in the 2025 class.

  • Originally from France, he moved to the U.S. for high school.

🏈 Chase Loftin Focuses on FSU, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas A&M 🏈

June is a pivotal month for Millard South three-star tight end Chase Loftin. After numerous unofficial visits, Loftin has narrowed his choices to Florida State, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas A&M, starting his official visits in Columbia this weekend.

Recruitment Goals:

  • Evaluate how each program utilizes tight ends.

  • Find a welcoming environment that feels like home.

  • Focus on education and other aspects during visits.

Family Insight:

  • Brother Brayden Loftin, a tight end at Kansas State, offers guidance on finding the right fit and improving on-field performance.

Program Impressions:

  • Florida State: Coach Norvell's energy and the tight ends' involvement in the passing game stand out.

  • Nebraska: Strong relationship with coach Marcus Satterfield and frequent communication.

  • Texas A&M: Impressive facilities and a straightforward coaching approach by Mike Elko.
