These players excel both on the field and in the classroom, maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
🏃♂️ FSU Track and Field Heads to NCAA Championships 🏃♀️ The No. 20 Florida State outdoor track and field teams will be represented by 11 athletes at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships from June 5-8 at Hayward Field. The meet will be broadcast on ESPN2.
🏈 FSU Hosts High School 7-on-7 and Big Man Camp 🏈 Florida State will host around 20 high school teams for their first 7-on-7 event of June on Wednesday, alongside a Big Man Camp for offensive and defensive linemen.
🏈 FSU's Academic Success Under Coach Norvell 🏈 FSU's football program has achieved a single-year APR score of 997, among the best in Power Four programs. Coach Mike Norvell's emphasis on academic excellence has led to this significant achievement.

The NCAA has revealed the dates and times for the Tallahassee Super Regional between Florida State and UConn. The series will begin on Friday, June 7, at 12:00 p.m. at Dick Howser Stadium. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN.

Historical Context:
Florida State and UConn have faced each other only once before, in the 1957 College World Series, where UConn won 5-3.
Road to the Super Regional:
UConn: Advanced by winning the Norman Regional against Oklahoma.
FSU: Went 3-0 in the Tallahassee Regional, concluding with a 12-4 victory over UCF.
🏆 FSU Baseball Shines on Academic All-District Team 🏆
Four Florida State baseball players – James Tibbs III, Jaime Ferrer, Brennen Oxford, and Daniel Cantu – were named to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team. To qualify, players need a 3.50 GPA and must play in 90% of games or start in 66% of games.
Honorees:
James Tibbs III: ACC Player of the Year, 25 home runs, 84 RBI, Political Science degree.
Jaime Ferrer: 17 home runs, All-ACC Academic Team, ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Brennen Oxford: Master's in Hospitality Entrepreneurship, 28 pitching appearances, 2.90 ERA.
Daniel Cantu: .315 average, 8 home runs, 40 RBI, Athletic Coaching certificate.
🏃♂️ FSU Track and Field Heads to NCAA Championships 🏃♀️
The No. 20 Florida State outdoor track and field teams will be represented by 11 members at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships from June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The event will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Key Events:
Wednesday: Tyson Williams in the 110-meter hurdles semifinal at 8:32 p.m., and Jeremiah Davis, Curtis Williams, and Jordan Turner in the long jump final at 9:00 p.m.
Thursday: Women's semifinals, including the 1,500 meters at 8:46 p.m.
Friday: Men's 4x100 relay semifinals, triple jump, and 5,000 meters finals.
Team Highlights:
Women’s Team: Led by Dajaz DeFrand, who set school and ACC records in the 100 meters (10.94) and a lifetime best in the 200 meters (22.34).
Men’s Team: Jeremiah Davis placed second in the long jump at the East Region Preliminaries (7.75m) and fifth in the triple jump (16.15m).
Head coach Bob Braman is optimistic about the national finals, highlighting the standout performances of Jeremiah Davis and Dajaz DeFrand, along with several other athletes with potential to become first-team All-Americans.

🏈 FSU Hosts High School 7-on-7 and Big Man Camp 🏈
Florida State is set to host around 20 high school teams for their first 7-on-7 event of June on Wednesday. A second 7-on-7 event is scheduled for June 12th. Alongside the 7-on-7, FSU will also conduct a Big Man Camp, focusing on the development of offensive and defensive linemen.

Start Time: Pool play begins at 11 a.m.
Format: Four games in pool play followed by a single-elimination tournament.
Location: Intramural Football fields and facilities off the main campus.
Big Man Camp:
Registration: Starts at 10 a.m.
Camp Time: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: FSU's practice fields and Indoor Practice Facility.
Description: Focuses on fundamental techniques, one-on-one competition, and athletic testing.

🏈 FSU's Academic Success Under Coach Norvell 🏈
Florida State coach Mike Norvell emphasizes excellence beyond football, famously saying, "how you do anything is how you do everything." At FSU's first prep camp, Norvell proudly highlighted his team's achievements, including a team GPA above 3.0.
Academic Progress Rate (APR):
2022-23 APR: FSU football scored 997 out of 1,000, among the best in Power Four programs.
Multi-Year APR: Reached a record high of 982, a significant improvement from 939 in 2015-16.
Norvell's Impact:
Gradual APR improvement since Norvell's arrival.
A 990+ APR triggers a $150,000 bonus in Norvell's contract.
The APR, implemented in 2003, measures the eligibility and retention of student-athletes, rewarding superior academic performance and penalizing teams falling below academic benchmarks.
