The No. 20 Florida State women's outdoor track and field team had a strong start at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Hayward Field.

  • Alexandra Webster: Advanced to Saturday's final in the 100-meter hurdles with a fifth-place finish at 12.71 seconds.

    • Coach Braman: "Truly a gutsy race for Alexandra, just one-hundredth of a second off her lifetime best."

  • Dajaz DeFrand and Shenese Walker: Earned second-team All-American honors in the 100-meter, finishing 12th (11.19) and 13th (11.23) respectively.

  • Suus Altorf: Finished 18th in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:12.74.

  • Tyra Wilson: Placed 18th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.57.

  • Dajaz DeFrand: Advanced to the 200-meter final on Saturday with the ninth overall seed at 22.71 seconds.

The men's team will compete in the finals on Saturday, with Jeremiah Davis and Kyvon Tatham starting in the triple jump at 9:20 p.m.

Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll 2027 offensive tackle Sean Tatum attended FSU's Big Man Camp on Wednesday and received a scholarship offer the next day.

  • Camp Highlights: Tatum stood out for his hard work and improvement, as noted by offensive line coach Alex Atkins.

    • Feedback: "I am a listener, worked hard, and improved throughout the camp," Tatum shared.

  • Future Plans: Tatum plans to return to Tallahassee.

Florida State (45-15) kicks off the Tallahassee Super Regional against UConn (35-24) on Friday at noon. Head Coach Link Jarrett announced Carson Dorsey will start game one, with Jamie Arnold following for game two.
