Weโre only two practices in, but the vibes are high in Tallahassee. Sources around the program are raving about the energy, tempo, and playmaking being flashed on both sides of the ball โ and thereโs plenty of optimism around this new-look FSU squad.
๐ง Norvell + Malzahn = Dynamic Duo
Early returns on the Mike NorvellโGus Malzahn offensive collaboration have been very positive. Norvellโs now more hands-on with position groups post-play, while Malzahn runs the offensive show โ allowing for sharper feedback and tempo.
โก QB Room: Steady & Sharp
โ
Tommy Castellanos โ Started slow in Skelly, then turned it up with "dimes" and vocal leadership
โ
Brock Glenn โ Called โthe most consistent passerโ through two days
โ
Kevin Sperry โ True freshman started 4-for-4 in Skelly on Day 1; Norvell took notice
๐ฏ WRs Flash Early:
โ Duce Robinson and Squirrel White have been the early stars
โ White (coming off a late-season knee issue) is โshifty as hellโ
โ Jalen Brown is one to watch with Lawayne McCoy out
๐ช Trenches & Transfers:

โ Gunnar Hansen (upper-body) is out for at least the first half of spring
โ DLs Darrell Jackson, Daniel Lyons, and Deante McCray have impressed
โ James Williams continues to build on his breakout potential
๐งท Linebackers & Secondary Notes:
๐ธ Elijah Hearing โ Physical, smart, and explosive; a top name to know
๐ธ Omar Graham โ Solid, savvy in the new scheme
๐ธ JaโBril Rawls โ Picked off a pass on Day 1 and hasnโt slowed down
๐ธ Edwin Joseph, Quindarrius Jones, Earl Little Jr., and Ashlynd Barker all earning strong early marks
๐จ Charles Lester looks the part. Jamari Howard is easing back from injury but trending well.
๐ฅ Kicking Update:
โ Jake Weinberg rebounded from a rocky Day 1 by going perfect on Day 2
โ Leg strength? Described as โunbelievableโ
