🏈 FSU & Clemson Settle with ACC: What It Means for the Future
When the lawsuits started, the ACC argued there was no number a school could pay to get out of the league with its TV rights. As of tomorrow, there is a number.
And it goes down every year.
The number was the goal. Clemson and Florida State got it.

After more than a year of legal battles, Florida State and Clemson are set to settle their dispute with the ACC, per an ESPN report. The agreement includes a new revenue-distribution model and lower exit fees for schools looking to leave before the ACC's Grant of Rights expires in 2036.
🔥 Key Details of the Settlement:
📺 More Money for Big Brands
A "brand initiative" will allocate 60% of TV revenue based on viewership, meaning top programs like FSU could earn an extra $15 million+ annually.
Teams with lower viewership may see deductions of up to $7 million in annual payouts.
💰 Bridging the SEC & Big Ten Gap
SEC/Big Ten schools are expected to earn $60-70 million annually from TV deals, while ACC teams were set to earn $45 million.
With this new model, FSU could earn close to SEC/Big Ten money if it remains a top-rated program.
🚪 Lower Exit Fees, More Flexibility
The cost to leave the ACC after the 2029-30 season will drop below $100 million, significantly lower than previous projections.
This aligns with major TV deal renewals in 2029-2031, allowing FSU to explore conference realignment if needed.
🔍 What’s Next for FSU?
FSU fought for more revenue and competitive balance while keeping future conference realignment options open. While it didn't secure an immediate ACC exit, it won financial leverage and positioned itself for a more stable future.

Florida State remains highly active on the recruiting trail, prioritizing South Florida talent at the recent Under Armour Miami Camp. With multiple key targets in attendance, the Seminoles made their presence felt.
🔥 Key Takeaways from Miami:
✅ FSU in a Strong Spot for 3⭐ EDGE Kamron Wilson
Long, athletic pass rusher who will take an official visit to FSU (June 20-22).
Needs to add size but has the frame to develop into a difference-maker.
✅ 4⭐ LB Duyon Forkpa Jr. Shines, FSU a Major Player
Won LB MVP honors at the camp and reportedly ran a 4.44 40-yard dash.
FSU is battling Michigan, Cincinnati, USF, and Minnesota for his commitment.
✅ FSU Pushing for 4⭐ WR Calvin Russell
Miami has the early edge, but FSU is in play for a spring visit.
Russell will take his recruitment to Signing Day and visit seven schools this spring.
✅ FSU a Contender for 3⭐ WR Jasen Lopez
The Chaminade Madonna standout racked up 1,300 yards & 14 TDs last season.
Miami is a big threat, but FSU WR coach Tim Harris Jr. has a strong connection.
✅ FSU Working to Secure 3⭐ WR Larry Miles
A top performer at multiple events, FSU is scheduling an official visit.
Kentucky, Louisville, and Pitt are also in the mix.
✅ 4⭐ LB Adam Balogoun-Ali Still Has FSU in the Mix
Not visiting FSU this spring but is a strong candidate for a summer official visit.
Has high praise for DC Tony White & LB coach John Papuchis.
✅ 3⭐ S Xavier Lherisse (Oregon Commit) Will Visit FSU
Despite his Oregon pledge, FSU will host him on an official visit (June 20-22).
Notre Dame and Auburn are also in the mix.
🚨 FSU DB Commits Holding Strong, But Alabama & Miami Lurking
3⭐ S Darryl Bell III (Hialeah, FL) – Alabama is pushing hard; official visits set.
3⭐ DB Tedarius Hughes (Miami Northwestern, FL) – Miami & Syracuse are pressing.
👀 FSU’s Chances with Other Targets
Texas 4⭐ QB Dia Bell (Texas commit) is still in contact with FSU but unlikely to visit.
FSU not a major player for 4⭐ RBs Derrek Cooper & Javian Mallory.
4⭐ EDGE Jake Kreul likely choosing between Miami or Florida if he stays in-state.
