At the NFL Scouting Combine, FSU's Jordan Travis took a moment to spotlight Hykeem Williams, his former teammate and a standout underclassman receiver, predicting a breakout year ahead for the rising sophomore.
Travis on Williams: βThat's my guy. He's a hard worker. I feel like he was the most improved player last year on Florida State,β Travis shared, highlighting Williams' dedication and progress last season. Despite early struggles with conditioning, Travis humorously noted Williams' initial excuses, only to laud his significant physical and mental growth throughout the year.
Williams' Admission: Acknowledging his early challenges, Williams spoke candidly about his conditioning journey, βIt was really the mindset that I have to come in and work, thatβs really it,β he said, reflecting on the transition from high school to rigorous college training regimens.
On-Field Emergence: Williams demonstrated his potential with a dazzling 44-yard touchdown against Syracuse, hinting at his on-field prowess. However, a nagging ankle injury cut his promising season short.
High Expectations: With Travis and FSU faithful eagerly watching, expectations are sky-high for Williams to resume his ascent. βIt's going to be a special year for sure,β Travis predicted, signaling exciting times ahead for Williams and FSU football.

The courtroom drama between Florida State and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is gearing up, with a significant hearing date set in Leon County. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Leon County Courthouse, under Judge John C. Cooper, will host the proceedings on April 9, focusing on the ACC's motion to dismiss or stay FSU's lawsuit.
This legal tussle stretches beyond Florida's borders, with a parallel hearing scheduled in North Carolina on March 22. This session will address the ACC's lawsuit against Florida Stateβs Board of Trustees in Mecklenburg County, spotlighting the ongoing dispute over FSUβs potential exit from the ACC and the financial implications thereof.
At the heart of this legal showdown is the determination of jurisdiction, a key factor that could significantly influence the case's direction, as the ACC initiated its lawsuit in North Carolina before FSU's formal response in Florida.
