In a thrilling final at the Duke Softball Park, the No. 2 seed Florida State Seminoles were defeated by the top-seeded Duke Blue Devils with a score of 6-3 in the 2024 ACC Softball Tournament Championship. This loss paces FSU's season record to 43-14, while Duke advances to 47-6.

Florida State initially seized the lead in the fourth inning, sparked by Jaysoni Beachum who walked and was driven home by Kalei Harding's 14th homer of the season, her 60th RBI. Shortly after, Isa Torres and Michaela Edenfield added to the score, giving FSU a temporary 3-0 advantage.

โพ Duke's Comeback
Duke responded robustly in the latter half of the game, starting their comeback with their first hit in the fourth inning. They continued to chip away at FSU's lead, finally overtaking them with strong offensive play and the help of a few Seminole errors in the sixth inning, pushing the score to 6-3.
๐ Moving Forward
Despite the loss, FSU remains a strong contender for the upcoming NCAA Tournament, expected to secure a national seed. The selection show is scheduled for May 12 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2, where FSU will learn their path in the national tournament.

No. 8 Florida State's baseball game at Pitt was suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions on Saturday evening, with Pitt leading 6-3 in the sixth inning. The game is set to resume on Sunday at 1 p.m., followed by the third game of the series.
๐ Game Highlights Before Suspension
Pittsburgh jumped ahead early, scoring three runs in the first inning off a home run by Fogel. They added another in the second inning on a single by Melendez. FSU responded in the third with Tibbs hitting his 20th homer of the season, bringing in Fisher as well. Smith doubled in the fifth, scoring Tibbs to narrow the gap to one run before Pitt extended their lead with Kendro's two-RBI single in the same inning.

The Seminoles clinched the doubles point after intense tiebreakers on Courts 1 and 3. Loris Pourroy and Youcef Rihane maintained their perfect record in the championship, securing a critical win on Court 2.

Post high school graduation this month, Danzy plans to arrive at FSU on May 27. His immediate goals include bulking up with an additional 10 to 15 pounds of muscle as advised by the FSU coaching staff.

While excited about the physical training, Danzy is equally keen on absorbing the Seminoles' playbook and forging strong bonds with his new teammates. Despite his busy track schedule, he's been preparing to hit the ground running for the summer workouts at FSU.

After a productive season at Oregon State, where he threw for over 2,600 yards and 21 touchdowns, Uiagalelei transferred to Florida State. He's poised to start for the Seminoles, taking over a team that finished 2023 with an undefeated regular season and looking to continue its rise back to the top of college football.
