Florida State didnβt wait long to lock in Rutgers transfer JaβElyne Matthews β and neither did he. The 6'6", 340-pound offensive tackle landed Tuesday night, signed by Wednesday morning.
The Scoop:
Former 3βοΈ prospect, No. 75 OT in the portal (per 247Sports)
Enrolled at Rutgers in January before entering the portal mid-April
Also visited Syracuse, but FSU closed the deal fast
Matthews on his decision:
βI want to be part of the greatness at FSUβ¦ I'm ready to run through a brick wall for the coaches and even the people here.β
βThey didnβt recruit me β they built a relationship. Thatβs why Iβm here.β

𧱠FSU Impresses Vanderbilt OL Transfer Josh Raymond on Visit π§±
Vanderbilt redshirt freshman OG transfer Joshua Raymond is currently on a visit at Florida State.

2:28 PM β’ Apr 30, 2025
Florida State hosted Vanderbilt transfer Josh Raymond this week as the 6'4", 298-pound Orlando native looks to return to his home state β and FSU made a strong impression.
The Rundown:
Raymond played at Lake Mary HS, has ties to OL coach Herb Hand from his UCF days.
Says film study with Hand was the highlight of the visit:
Likely a guard projection at FSU, but has T/G versatility and elite mobility in space.
UCF and FSU are his top two schools, but no commitment yet β heβs waiting to speak with family.
Already tight with former Vandy teammate Gunnar Hansen, now FSUβs projected LT.
βThis is top-tier football. Itβs Florida State.β
βNorvellβs a real straight shooter β family, faith, football. Thatβs what Iβm about too.β
And thatβs a wrap!
Jordan Travis reminded us that greatness isnβt always about stats β itβs about impact.
Michaela Edenfield is off to the pros. Isa Torres and Luke Clanton are chasing national titles. And the portal? Still busy.
Keep repping the Garnet & Gold, and weβll keep you locked in.
Catch you next time,
