She’s been dominant all year — and now the nation’s taking notice.
Sophomore shortstop Isa Torres has been named a First Team All-American by Softball America, capping off one of the most impressive individual seasons in Florida State history.
📈 The Numbers:
• .448 AVG | 9 HR | 45 RBI
• .433 AVG vs. Top 25 opponents
• 95 hits (3rd in NCAA, 1st in ACC) — just 5 away from FSU’s all-time single-season record
• Hit safely in 51 of 59 games
• Only 4 strikeouts in 212 ABs — tied for lowest in all of Power Four softball
🧤 Defensively:
Torres has dazzled at shortstop with a .963 fielding percentage and just seven errors in 187 chances — all while flashing elite range and highlight-reel plays.
With FSU surging into Super Regionals, the sophomore sensation could rewrite the record books — and help lead a deep postseason run.

The ace in the making just added another accolade.
Florida State’s Jazzy Francik was named to the Softball America All-Freshman Team on Tuesday — and it’s well-earned.
👑 The Stats:
• 1.57 ERA – lowest in the ACC and among all freshmen nationally
• 10–3 record | 8 saves – second-most in a season in FSU history
• 21 Ks, 5 hits allowed in last 19 IP
• 4 earned runs allowed over last 13 appearances (39.2 IP)
🚫 Highlight Moment:
On May 3, Francik tossed a no-hitter vs. ranked Virginia Tech — the first by a true FSU freshman since Lacey Waldrop in 2012.
Clutch, composed, and electric — Francik is already one of the best arms in the nation, and her postseason poise is peaking at the perfect time.

Tuesday was one for the history books.
Florida State reached the NCAA Semifinals for the first time in program history and junior Mirabel Ting was crowned the ANNIKA Award winner — the top honor in collegiate women’s golf — in a whirlwind day at Omni La Costa.
🏆 ANNIKA Winner:
Ting, the nation's No. 1 golfer, earned the prestigious award mid-round — recognizing her five-win season, 80-under-par mark, and record-setting NCAA stroke play performance (-10).
🔥 FSU vs. USC (Quarterfinal):
• Kaylah Williams got the Noles rolling with a dominant 5&4 win
• Lottie Woad followed with a 4&3 victory
• Ting clinched the match 3&1 as the Noles knocked off No. 5 USC, 3.5–1.5
⛳ FSU vs. Stanford (Semifinal):
• Three matches, including Woad’s and Ting’s, went to extra holes
• Freshman Alexandra Gazzoli earned FSU’s only win
• Ting halved her match after 19 holes; the Noles ultimately fell 3.5–1.5
📈 Historic Season Highlights:
• First-ever ACC Championship
• Seven team titles — most in school history
• Best NCAA finish: Final Four + No. 4 national ranking
• Ting’s ANNIKA win is FSU’s first, adding to a year of firsts
Coach Amy Bond: “Three matches going to extra holes — blow for blow — I’ve never seen anything like it. This won’t diminish the year… I’m extremely proud.”

Florida State has worked its way back into the mix for one of the top interior defensive linemen in the 2026 class.
James Johnson — a 6’2.5”, 285-pound four-star DT from Miami Northwestern — tells Noles247 he’s locked in an official visit to FSU from June 15–17. It’s a major development after the Seminoles initially faded from his recruitment earlier this spring.
🔥 What Changed:
DL coach Terrance Knighton has made Johnson a top priority since joining FSU in December, helping spark renewed interest.
👀 His Visit Comes Alongside:
• 5⭐ LB Xavier Griffin
• 5⭐ WR Calvin Russell
• 4⭐ ATH Derrek Cooper
• 4⭐ QB Jaden O’Neal
• 4⭐ RB Ezavier Crowell
• 3⭐ EDGE Katrell Webb
Johnson, now at powerhouse Miami Northwestern after transferring from North Fort Myers, is ranked No. 91 nationally and the No. 13 DL in the class.
FSU is back in the fight — and Johnson’s June visit could be a turning point.
And that’s a wrap!
And that’s a wrap on a monster week for the Noles.
From Ting’s national crown to Torres chasing program records, FSU is putting the rest of the country on notice — across every sport. With postseason play heating up and blue-chip recruits locking in official visits, June might just be the busiest month yet.
See you at Bowden’s for Selection Monday — and stay locked in here as the postseason fireworks continue. 🎆
Go Noles!
