The No. 10 seed Florida State men's tennis team punched their ticket to the Super Regionals with a commanding 4-1 win over UCF in the Tallahassee Regional.

The match began with a tight doubles contest, where UCF took the first point after a close 6-4 victory on Court 1. Loris Pourroy and Youcef Rihane secured a 6-3 win on Court 2, but the Knights ultimately clinched the doubles point, putting FSU behind 1-0 heading into singles play.

The No. 4 Florida State beach volleyball team saw their NCAA Tournament run come to an end in a 3-1 defeat to No. 5 Cal Poly in the quarterfinals.

The match started evenly across three courts, with each set extending beyond the usual 21 points to determine the winner.

๐ŸŒŸ Cal Poly's Strong Start 

The Mustangs took an early lead by winning on court three (11-21, 11-21) and followed with a victory on court two (17-21, 12-21), going up 2-0.

๐Ÿ’ช Anderson Shines

Maddie Anderson, concluding her FSU career ranked second in program history with 123 wins, secured the Seminoles' only point alongside Alexis Durish on court one, winning 22-20, 21-19.

โš”๏ธ Battling Effort 

Caitlin Moon and Kaileigh Truslow fought hard on court five, narrowly losing the first set 20-22 before dropping the second 12-21, giving the Mustangs the match win.

๐Ÿ›‘ Match Called 

Morgan Chacon and Skyler Germann were in control of court four, winning the first set 21-19 and leading 17-14 before the match was called.

๐ŸฅŽ FSU Softball Drops Regular Season Finale to Syracuse ๐ŸฅŽ

No. 14 Florida State softball concluded their regular season with a tough 13-5 loss to Syracuse, dropping two of three games in the series and missing out on the ACC Regular Season Championship.

โšก Early Lead

FSU took an early 3-0 lead with Michaela Edenfieldโ€™s three-run home run, her 13th of the season, in the top of the first inning. Edenfieldโ€™s 40th RBI added an initial spark for the Seminoles.

โš”๏ธ Syracuse's Big Inning

The Orange responded with a single run in the first and then exploded for eight runs in the second, capitalizing on multiple singles and two fielding errors to take a commanding 9-3 lead.

๐Ÿš€ FSUโ€™s Short-Lived Rally

In the top of the third, Kaley Mudge brought in two runs on a fielding error to cut the deficit to 9-5, but the Orange swiftly answered with four more runs in the fourth inning to extend their lead, thanks to an aggressive offense that featured walks, singles, and a double.

โš ๏ธ Error-Prone Defense

The Seminoles committed three errors during the game, contributing to their struggles. Ross was responsible for two of them, with Flaherty accounting for the third.

โšพ Pitching Struggles

Allison Royalty took the loss, allowing six runs in 1.1 innings. Ashtyn Danley and Mimi Gooden also struggled to contain Syracuse, giving up a combined seven runs before Emma Wilson finished the game.

Despite the loss, FSU heads into the ACC Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Their first game is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. at Duke University Softball Stadium in Durham, N.C., where the team will aim for a strong tournament run.

Georgia fought back strongly in the singles matches, winning four straight matches at No. 5, No. 6, No. 1, and No. 2 singles to clinch the victory.

Despite the loss, the Seminoles had a strong season with nine ranked victories. They advanced to their 20th ACC semifinal and made the NCAA Tournament's second round for the seventh straight year.

With several key players expected to return, FSU looks poised for another strong season next year.

In a recent interview, five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas discussed that his commitment to the Noles remains strong as he focuses on leading his team at Jacksonville Raines High School and improving his game in his final high school season.

๐Ÿˆ Leadership on and off the Field

Thomas takes pride in guiding his teammates and leading by example at Jacksonville Raines High School, stating, "I think I mostly just have to lead by example... those who are really locked in are going to lock in with me."

๐Ÿ” Recruitment and Visits

Despite strong interest from other schools, Thomas has planned official visits to LSU, Florida, and Florida State, with FSU set to host the final visit. His bond with offensive coordinator and line coach Alex Atkins plays a key role in his commitment, as Thomas described, "Once you become one of his players, he truly adopts you as one of his own."

Thomas appreciates the family-like atmosphere at FSU and the leadership of Coach Mike Norvell, saying, "He's a motivator, for sure... You walk into that building, you have a smile on your face by the end of the day."
