The Seminoles faced a challenging matchup in South Bend, falling 52-3 to No. 10 Notre Dame. Despite an early field goal drive, the Noles couldn’t keep pace, struggling on both sides of the ball as the Irish pulled away in the second half. With the season winding down, FSU will regroup over their bye week before hosting Charleston Southern for Homecoming.

The No. 6-ranked Seminoles will battle No. 8 North Carolina for their fifth consecutive ACC title. Key players Taylor Huff and Jordynn Dudley have been dominant, and redshirt freshman Addie Todd anchors a defense with nine shutouts. Don’t miss the action on ESPNU this Sunday at noon!

šŸ„Ž Softball Wraps Up Fall Schedule on High Note

āļø Recruiting Momentum with Desir Twins’ Visit
The Seminoles are gaining traction with 2025 defensive end prospects Darryll and Mandrell Desir, who recently decommitted from UCF and scheduled a visit to FSU on November 23. With the addition of JUCO standout Tyeland Coleman, FSU is poised to strengthen its defensive line class as National Signing Day approaches.

šŸ€ Watkins Shines as FSU Basketball Defeats Rice, Moves to 2-0 šŸ€

Led by Jamir Watkins’ 30-point performance, Florida State men’s basketball improved to 2-0 with a 73-65 victory over Rice at the Mattress Firm Battleground 2K24 in Houston on Saturday. The Seminoles led wire-to-wire, though Rice made it interesting with a second-half surge that cut FSU’s lead to one point.

Game Highlights

Watkins filled the stat sheet, adding six rebounds, three steals, a block, and an assist. Malique Ewin contributed all 11 of his points in the second half, along with seven rebounds and two assists. Taylor Bol Bowen and Justin Thomas added valuable support on the boards and defensively, with Thomas chipping in eight points.

Team Stats

FSU shot 42.6% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting only 26.3% of their three-point attempts. The Seminoles were 64.7% from the free-throw line and recorded nine steals and seven blocks, capitalizing on Rice’s 17 turnovers to score 23 points. The team scored 30 points in the paint and saw 22 points come from the bench.

Up Next

The Seminoles return to Tallahassee to face Tarleton State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.

šŸˆ FSU Overpowered by Notre Dame in 52-3 Defeat šŸˆ

Florida State (1-9) suffered another challenging night on the road, falling 52-3 to No. 10 Notre Dame. Despite an early field goal drive, the Seminoles struggled to maintain momentum as the Fighting Irish took control in the second half, handing FSU its third consecutive blowout loss.

A Promising Start Fades Quickly

FSU opened with a solid drive, moving 75 yards on 16 plays over nearly eight minutes, and capped it with a 23-yard field goal from Ryan Fitzgerald. Notre Dame, however, responded with efficiency, covering 75 yards in just five plays for a touchdown, setting the tone for a dominant evening. The Irish struck again in the second quarter with a 65-yard touchdown run by Jadarian Price, extending their lead to 14-3.

Costly Mistakes Before the Half

FSU’s hopes of keeping the game close heading into halftime unraveled in the final minute of the second quarter. With just 21 seconds left, the Seminoles’ defense was flagged for having 12 players on the field during a crucial 4th-and-10, allowing Notre Dame to capitalize with a touchdown on the next play. The sequence highlighted some of the game’s key missteps, leaving FSU down 21-3 at the break.

Second-Half Struggles

The third quarter began with another FSU turnover, as Brock Glenn’s pass was intercepted by Jordan Clark. Notre Dame converted the takeaway into a touchdown, pushing the lead to 28-3. The Seminoles' offense continued to stall, with Glenn finishing 5-for-18 for just 52 yards and two interceptions. The defense was unable to contain Notre Dame’s offense, which added three touchdowns and a field goal in the second half, while FSU managed just 208 total yards on the day.

Key Stats

Notre Dame amassed 453 yards of offense, averaging 7.3 yards per play. Quarterback Riley Leonard contributed 285 total yards and three touchdowns, while Price and Love added rushing scores. FSU’s running back Lawrance Toafili led the offense with 77 rushing yards and three receptions for 20 yards, but the passing game struggled with just 88 yards and eight sacks allowed.

Looking Ahead

FSU will take its third and final bye week before returning to host Charleston Southern on November 16th for Homecoming. With a challenging season winding down, the Seminoles will look to regroup and focus on closing out their final games on a positive note.

Seminole Dominance

With nine ACC Tournament titles in the past 11 years and an unbeaten streak of 11 tournament games, FSU has been the most successful program in the conference this past decade. They’ve also triumphed over UNC in each of the last four championship meetings.

Key Players

Taylor Huff leads the offense, notching 11 goals and 31 points this season. Sophomore Jordynn Dudley, the reigning national freshman of the year, continues to shine with 20 points in just 12 games.

šŸ„Ž Seminoles Wrap Up Fall Softball Schedule with Dominant Win Over Auburn šŸ„Ž

FSU softball closed out its fall schedule with a strong 16-8 victory over Auburn, following a win against the Canadian National Team the night before. Head Coach Lonni Alameda was pleased with the team’s performance but emphasized the need for consistency as they look toward 2025.

Senior Leadership Shines

Senior Amaya Ross led the charge, racking up three hits, including a three-run homer in the first inning. Katie Deck added two hits, while transfer senior Annabelle Widra impressed on the mound with a scoreless second inning.

Emerging Talent

Underclassmen played a big role as well. Sophomore Addie DeLong used her speed to score twice, and freshman Shelby McKenzie showed promise with two hits. Freshman pitcher Jazzy Francik showcased poise under pressure, adding depth to FSU’s rotation.

Versatility on Display

Players like Angelee Bueno and Madi Frey highlighted FSU’s adaptability. Frey delivered a bases-clearing double and executed a sharp pick-off, while Bueno added two hits and a run.

Areas for Improvement

Alameda praised the team’s ā€œconsistent good momentsā€ but emphasized a need for steadiness across innings and stronger vocal leadership during challenging moments.

With a balanced roster of veteran experience and rising talent, the Seminoles look primed for an exciting 2025 season. Alameda is optimistic but focused on pushing the team to reach its full potential.

āļø Desir Twins Decommit from UCF, Set Official Visit to FSU āļø

Florida State is gaining momentum in its pursuit of 2025 defensive end prospects Darryll and Mandrell Desir, who decommitted from UCF on Friday. The highly sought-after twin brothers from Miami’s Norland High School have scheduled an official visit to FSU on November 23, coinciding with the Seminoles' game against Charleston Southern.

FSU’s Defensive Line Rebuild
With National Signing Day approaching, FSU is actively working to strengthen its defensive line class. At one point, the Seminoles had secured top recruits for the line, but recent decommitments have created gaps. Currently, four-star Kevin Wynn remains the only defensive line commit, though his commitment is reportedly uncertain.

A Package Deal
The Desir twins, who are a package deal, received offers from FSU after an unofficial visit in March. Darryll, ranked as the No. 41 Edge by 247Sports, and Mandrell, ranked No. 43, have developed close ties with FSU’s defensive ends coach John Papuchis and linebackers coach Randy Shannon. Both brothers confirmed they are prioritizing playing together in college, and FSU has emerged as the favorite.

Junior College Talent in the Mix
FSU is also eyeing top junior college talent to bolster the line. Tyeland Coleman, a standout defensive lineman from Northwest Mississippi Community College and a top-three JUCO defensive lineman, has scheduled his official visit to FSU for November 23 as well. The 6'4", 280-pound Coleman is among the top JUCO players nationally.

With key official visits scheduled and the stakes high, the Seminoles are poised to make strategic moves to fortify their 2025 class.
