FSU's defense was just as formidable, particularly in the second half, stifling Central Michigan's offense.
Coach Leonard Hamilton praised the team's unselfish play and efficient shot selection, while Central Michigan's Coach Tony Barbee acknowledged FSU's defensive prowess.
The game also saw contributions from the entire roster, including a memorable moment for Michael Brown, who scored his first career points on his 22nd birthday.

π Kalen DeLoach: FSU's Defensive Dynamo Clinches ACC Linebacker of the Week π
Kalen DeLoach, Florida State's redshirt senior linebacker, has once again proven why he's a defensive force to be reckoned with.
After an outstanding performance in the Seminoles' thrilling 27-20 victory over Miami, DeLoach has been named ACC Linebacker of the Week, marking his second such honor this season.
In a game that kept FSU fans on the edge of their seats, DeLoach's career-high 10 tackles, including 2.0 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss, were pivotal.
His impactful plays, especially the two crucial third-down sacks, were game-changers. One of these sacks led to a missed 51-yard field goal by Miami, showcasing DeLoach's knack for timely, high-impact plays.
This season, DeLoach has racked up an impressive 7.0 sacks, the most by an FSU linebacker since 1993 and the fifth-most in the ACC.
His consistent performance, with at least 0.5 tackle for loss in nine games, has been a cornerstone of FSU's defensive strategy.
FSU's defense, under DeLoach's leadership, has achieved a remarkable feat: limiting opponents to less than 50 percent pass completion in five consecutive games, a streak unmatched nationally this season and the longest for FSU since 1998.
With 59 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks to his name this season, DeLoach has been a game-changer.
His previous ACC Linebacker of the Week accolade came after a stellar performance against Clemson, where he forced and recovered a fumble then returned it for a game-tying touchdown.
As FSU prepares to face North Alabama this Saturday, all eyes will be on DeLoach, whose 203 career tackles speak volumes of his enduring impact on the field.
Check out this highlight tape of him from last year below:
π Jordan Travis: FSU's Maxwell Award Hopeful π
Seminole fans, let's celebrate our quarterback Jordan Travis, a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award! Known for his record-breaking feats at FSU, Travis is the driving force behind our unbeaten season, averaging 289.4 yards per game with 27 touchdowns.
His leadership has led us to a 16-game winning streak, including a flawless 8-0 in ACC play. With over 20 passing touchdowns and minimal interceptions, Travis' dual-threat presence is a nightmare for defenses.
In the spotlight against Miami, he notched his third win against the Canes and extended his touchdown pass streak to 22 games. His interception-free run of 184 pass attempts is a testament to his precision and calm under pressure.
Kicking off the season with a stellar performance against LSU, Travis set the tone for what's been an extraordinary year. His stats aren't just impressive; they're a reflection of his pivotal role in FSU's success.
As we await the Maxwell Award finalists announcement, let's appreciate Jordan Travis β not just as our quarterback, but as a symbol of the Seminole spirit.

π FSU's Recruiting Triumphs: Rising to No. 3 Nationally π
In the college football recruiting world, Florida State University has surged ahead, claiming the No. 3 spot in the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings. This ascent comes as the Gators, previously holding the third position, experienced a setback with the loss of two blue-chip commitments.
The Seminoles' recruiting momentum is undeniable. Just this past Friday, FSU celebrated the commitment of Top247 defensive back Jamari Howard, who chose the 'Noles over other heavyweights like Florida, Maryland, Michigan State, and Rutgers. This addition is a testament to FSU's growing appeal in the competitive recruiting landscape.
FSU's strategy doesn't stop there. They're actively pursuing top talents like five-star Ohio State WR commit Jeremiah Smith, five-star UF DL commit LJ McCray, and three-star Wisconsin DB commit Xavier Lucas.
These potential flips, all of whom visited Tallahassee for the recent FSU vs. Miami game, could further bolster the Seminoles' impressive class.
The current FSU class is headlined by three five-star prospects, including defensive back KJ Bolden, cornerback Charles Lester, and defensive lineman Armondo Blount, who reclassified to the 2024 class and will join FSU in January.
Other notable commitments include four-star talents like QB Luke Kromenhoek, TE Landen Thomas, RB Kameron Davis, OL Manasse Itete, WR Lawayne McCoy, RB Micahi Danzy, and WR Elijah Moore.
Securing the nation's No. 3 recruiting class would mark FSU's highest ranking since 2016 and add a significant boost to our future teams.
It's an exciting time for FSU fans as the team not only excels on the field but also makes strategic moves off it. Stay tuned for more updates on FSU's journey to the top! ππ
π Norvell's Cool Response to Coaching Carousel Rumors π
In the ever-spinning world of college football rumors, FSU's Coach Mike Norvell finds himself in the spotlight. With Jimbo Fisher's recent departure from Texas A&M, Norvell's name has been circulated as a potential replacement. But what's Norvell's take on all this?
With a laid-back attitude, Norvell brushes off these speculations. He's seen it all - from early days when opponents used FSU's losses against him in recruiting, to now, where his success is fueling departure rumors. It's just another day in the life of a college football coach.
Norvell's stance? He's focused on the here and now with the Seminoles. "Rumors are just that," he says, "I'm here in Tallahassee, building something special with this team."
So while the coaching rumor mill keeps churning, Norvell remains unfazed, committed to his journey with FSU. That's the spirit of a true Seminole leader.
And that's a wrap on this edition of The Chief Brief!
We've dashed through the highs, tackled the news, and sprinted past the rumors. Remember, whether it's on the field, the court, or the track, our 'Noles keep the spirit alive and kicking.
