🏈 FSU Linebacker DJ Lundy Out for Season Due to Injury 🏈

Florida State linebacker DJ Lundy, a fifth-year senior, will miss the remainder of the season due to an unspecified injury, as announced by Head Coach Mike Norvell. Lundy has been a pivotal player for the Seminoles, starting in five games this season and contributing 25 tackles, including one tackle for loss.

🏈 Ole Miss Extends Offer to FSU Commit Izayia Williams 🏈

The Ole Miss Rebels have entered the race for four-star linebacker Izayia Williams, a highly ranked 2026 prospect from Tavares High School in Leesburg, Florida. Williams, currently committed to Florida State, received the offer amid FSU’s challenging season, with the Seminoles holding a 1-5 record.

Williams’ Rankings:

  • Nationally ranked as the No. 7 linebacker and No. 16 player in Florida for the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

  • 247Sports exclusive rankings place him as the country’s No. 9 linebacker and the No. 17 player from Florida.

A Growing List of Offers: Alongside his commitment to FSU, Williams has attracted offers from a host of SEC programs, including Alabama and Florida, as well as Miami, Michigan, Louisville, and others.

With more programs entering the fray, Williams’ recruitment could become highly competitive in the coming months.

🏈 Ethan Pritchard Stays Firm with FSU Amid Challenging Season 🏈

Ethan Pritchard, one of Florida State's longest-standing commitments in the 2025 class, remains dedicated to the Seminoles despite their challenging 1-5 start to the 2024 season. The three-star linebacker from Sanford (Fla.) Seminole High School first committed to FSU last fall, a period that saw the team go 13-1 in 2023.

Pritchard’s Commitment:
While other programs like UCF and Baylor continue to court him, Pritchard is unfazed. "Everything isn't going to go as planned. I'm still locked in though," he said.

FSU’s Message to Pritchard:
The Seminole coaching staff has been clear with Pritchard about his role in the future of the team, emphasizing his potential to be a "game changer." Pritchard is eager to contribute to the linebacker room as a freshman, eyeing an early start when he arrives in Tallahassee in January as an early enrollee.

In High School:
Ranked as the nation’s No. 50 linebacker by 247Sports, Pritchard concluded his junior season with 75 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

🏈 FSU Practice Recap: Inexperienced Players Step Up in High-Intensity Drills 🏈

Florida State continued its bye-week practices on Wednesday, with a focus on developing younger players and maintaining high energy on the field. Here are some highlights from the session:

Quarterbacks in Action
Quarterbacks Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek both had solid outings, with Glenn showing consistency and Kromenhoek delivering impressive long passes. Notable plays included Kromenhoek’s 50-yard bomb to Jalen Brown and Glenn’s deep strike to TE Kyle Morlock, showcasing the duo’s progress.

Rookie Standouts
RB Micahi Danzy turned heads with an acrobatic sideline catch, absorbing contact and maintaining control even as he collided into the sideline. Brown had a standout day as well, consistently getting open deep and making crucial catches.

Defensive Progress
The secondary showed its strength, with DBs like Fentrell Cypress and Azareye’h Thomas delivering multiple pass breakups. S Ashlynd Barker secured his second interception in two days, capitalizing on his positioning and improving in coverage technique.

Offensive Line Promise
Rookie offensive tackles Jonathan Daniels and Manasse Itete held their own in one-on-one drills, demonstrating solid technique and control, even against advanced defensive moves.

Florida State’s coaching staff, including head coach Mike Norvell, expressed pride in the players' intensity and competitiveness, especially as the younger athletes continue to bring fresh energy and accountability to practice.

🚨 FSU’s Second Bye Week Means Key Recruiting Visits for Norvell and Staff 🚨

With Florida State’s unique three-bye-week schedule this season, head coach Mike Norvell and his staff are maximizing the extra time to bolster recruiting efforts.

During this second bye week, Norvell and defensive line coach Odell Haggins are hitting the road, with Haggins scheduled to visit defensive end target TJ Griffin at Alcovy High in Covington, Ga.

Despite FSU’s challenging season, Norvell is focused on recruits who want to "be part of the solution."

Norvell emphasized his consistent approach, saying, “If somebody’s just coming here for the record, then that’s probably not the best fit for them.”

He’s aiming to attract players committed to FSU’s long-term success, citing NFL stars like Jared Verse and Jermaine Johnson as examples of recruits who joined FSU to make an impact and went on to achieve NFL success.

One player receiving this message is four-star defensive end Jalen Wiggins from Tallahassee.

Though currently committed to the Florida Gators, Wiggins says FSU is actively pursuing him, stressing his potential to develop within a top-tier program and stay close to home.

And that’s a wrap!

As we take on another week of growth and grit, keep rooting for our Noles and the future stars joining our ranks.

Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help as we recover from Hurricane Milton.

Until next time, stay true to the Garnet and Gold.
