🏈 FSU Loses Four-Star WR Daylan McCutcheon to Texas 🏈

Florida State’s 2025 recruiting class took another hit as four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon from Lovejoy, Texas, announced his commitment flip from FSU to Texas. McCutcheon’s decision follows the Seminoles' challenging 1-5 start to the season, with the Longhorns capitalizing on recent momentum to secure his pledge.

Background on McCutcheon’s Recruitment:

  • McCutcheon initially committed to FSU in July, choosing the Seminoles over notable programs like Texas, USC, SMU, and Ohio State.

  • He is the second wide receiver to decommit from FSU within the last two weeks; Malik Clark previously flipped to South Carolina.

With McCutcheon’s departure, FSU’s 2025 class drops to No. 52 nationally according to 247Sports, holding ten remaining commits. In response, the Seminoles have widened their recruiting efforts at wide receiver, extending two additional offers on Thursday.

🏈 Four-Star OL Mario Nash Commits to FSU 🏈

Florida State’s 2025 recruiting class received a major boost with the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Mario Nash. After his official visit to Tallahassee last weekend, Nash chose the Seminoles over Mississippi State, where he was previously committed.

Why FSU?

  • Nash explained that his decision was clear: “It all came down to where I started my first Power 4 offer,” he said. “It was an easy choice for me and my family.”

Recruiting Impact:

  • Nash is the third offensive lineman in FSU’s 2025 class, joining five-star guard Solomon Thomas and four-star guard Peyton Joseph.

  • The 6’4”, 280-pound prospect from De Kalb, Mississippi, is ranked No. 239 overall and No. 14 as an interior offensive lineman by 247Sports.

With Nash’s addition, FSU’s 2025 class now ranks No. 37 nationally in the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings, marking a quick rebound after an earlier decommitment.
