The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team kicked off their season with a commanding performance, winning 15 of 16 events at the All Florida Invite on Friday. The Seminoles defeated North Florida (239-54) and West Florida (226-73) in a sun-soaked competition at the Morcom Aquatics Center.
Standout Performers:
Maddy Huggins: The senior led with victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.17) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:16.94), clinching a near 10-second win in the medley.
Evelyn Hall: Freshman diver Hall shined with a win in the 1-meter event, scoring 277.65, part of a 1-2 finish with teammate Kayleigh Clark.
Relay Dominance: FSU’s 200 medley relay team and 200 freestyle relay team both secured first-place finishes, rounding out an impressive opening meet.

Florida State Cross Country impressed at Friday’s FSU XC Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park, as the men's team clinched its second win of the season on home turf.
Men’s 8k Highlights:
Top Performer: Lucas Bouquot led the Noles, finishing sixth with a career best of 24:43.0.
Other Key Performances: Patrick Donnelly (7th), Wynne Thomas (9th), Tanner Simonds (13th), and Michael Toppi (15th) all achieved personal bests.
Coaching Insight: “The plan to control our home course paid off,” shared assistant coach Ian Frazier, commending the team’s strong finish in the 7K.
Women’s 5k Highlights:

In front of a packed Tully Gym crowd, the No. 21 Florida State volleyball team (11-4, 3-2 ACC) pushed fourth-ranked Louisville (13-2, 5-0 ACC) to the limit in a five-set showdown, ultimately falling just short with a final score of (25-16, 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 9-15) on Friday night.
Match Highlights:
Set 1: The Noles came out strong, taking the set 25-16 and hitting .417, becoming the first ACC team to take a set from Louisville this season.
Set 4: With momentum on their side, FSU forced a fifth set, energized by a solo block from Maddie Snider and crucial kills by Audrey Koenig.
Final Push: Despite FSU’s grit, Louisville clinched the fifth set, closing out the match with a final 4-0 run.
