Florida State Volleyball Dominates Clemson in Straight Sets

The Florida State Volleyball team showcased their prowess with a decisive 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-14, 25-16) over Clemson at Jervey Gym. This win bolstered the Seminoles' ACC record to an impressive 7-1. The team's offense was particularly notable, registering a .460 hitting percentage, one of their best this season.

Junior middle blocker Khori Louis stood out with 12 kills, achieving a .688 hitting percentage. Audrey Koenig also made her mark with 10 kills and six digs. On the assisting front, freshman setter Kenna Phelan led with 18 assists, while graduate Jelli Draskovic contributed 15 assists and topped the team with nine digs.

The Seminoles are gearing up for their next matches, hosting Boston College on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Syracuse on Sunday at Noon. Fans can keep up with the team's journey on Instagram and Facebook.

Keon Coleman: The ACC's Dazzling Star of the Week

In a week filled with gridiron drama, one Seminole shone brighter than the rest. Keon Coleman, Florida State's dynamic wide receiver and punt returner, has just been crowned the ACC's Special Teams Player of the Week. And boy, did he earn it.

Coleman danced his way into the record books, becoming only the second player from FSU to rack up over 100 receiving yards and 100 punt return yards in a single game. That's some elite company, with the legendary Peter Warrick being the only other 'Nole to achieve this.

But let's talk numbers. Coleman dazzled with a 72-yard punt return, the longest of his career and a feat that ranks as the 10th-longest nationally this year. Add to that his nine receptions for 140 yards, including a jaw-dropping one-handed catch, and you've got a performance that's hard to top.

This isn't the first time Coleman's made headlines. Earlier this season, he was named the ACC Receiver of the Week after a stellar 122-yard, 3-touchdown performance against No. 5 LSU.

Florida State Seminoles: Rising to the Challenge

The Florida State Seminoles are making waves this season, showcasing resilience, dominance, and a hunger to win. As they gear up for a top-20 showdown against Duke, let's dive into the recent happenings surrounding the team.

Injury Updates and Player Availability Florida State is gearing up for a crucial Top 25 matchup against Duke. The good news for the Seminoles is the expected return of standout wide receiver Johnny Wilson, who had missed the previous game due to an injury. Coach Mike Norvell remains optimistic about Wilson's availability for the upcoming game. Additionally, offensive tackle Bless Harris, who was available only in emergencies during the Syracuse game, is expected to play in a more stable capacity against Duke. However, the status of offensive lineman Darius Washington remains uncertain after he sustained an injury against Syracuse. On a brighter note, QB Jordan Travis is fit and ready to play, dispelling concerns about his left hand.

Defensive Dominance The Seminoles' defense has been a highlight, especially in recent games. After a shaky start against Clemson, where they conceded 17 points in the first half, the defense has shown remarkable improvement. They limited Virginia Tech to just 10 points and recently showcased their prowess with a 41-3 victory against Syracuse. The defense's aggressive approach, especially in attack mode, has been a game-changer. The unit's ability to maintain pressure and play in man coverage has been instrumental in their recent successes. The defense's performance against Syracuse was particularly commendable, limiting the Orange to just 261 total yards.

A Statement in the Making The Seminoles, currently 6-0 for the season and 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, are showing signs of being a formidable force. Their recent 41-3 victory over Syracuse was a testament to their dominance in all phases of the game. As they prepare for Duke, the team seems to be in the right mindset, playing as hunters rather than the hunted. The defense, especially, has been in attack mode, and their aggressive approach has paid dividends. Coach Norvell's acknowledgment of the team's two fourth-down failures against Syracuse shows his commitment to continuous improvement. There are questions surrounding QB Jordan Travis's emotions during games, but his passion and will to win are evident. The upcoming game against Duke, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Duke's star quarterback Riley Leonard's availability, promises to be a thrilling encounter. Given the Seminoles' current form and the home advantage, they are poised to make a strong statement.

As the Seminoles continue their journey, the combination of a recovering roster, a defense that's finding its groove, and a team hungry to make a statement sets the stage for exciting games ahead. The upcoming showdown against Duke is not just another game; it's an opportunity for the Seminoles to solidify their position as one of the top teams this season.
