ACC Unveils FSU's Future Schedule: New Teams, New Challenges
In a move that's sure to shake up the college football landscape, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has unveiled its future schedule model, revealing Florida State's conference matchups for the 2024-2030 seasons. And with some fresh faces joining the ACC, the Seminoles are in for some exciting new challenges.
New Kids on the Block: Cal, Stanford, and SMU are set to join the ACC in 2024, bringing the total number of football members to 17. While each team will stick to playing eight league games annually, FSU's dance card will now permanently feature two familiar foes: Clemson and Miami.
Interestingly, the Seminoles have never locked horns with any of the three newcomers. Here's a quick rundown of what to expect:
SMU: FSU will saddle up and head to SMU territory in 2024 and 2028. The Mustangs, not to be outdone, will gallop their way to Tallahassee in 2026.
Cal: The Golden Bears will feel the heat in Tallahassee in the upcoming season and again in 2028. FSU, on the other hand, will get a taste of Berkeley in 2027.
Stanford: The Cardinal will host the Seminoles in Palo Alto in 2025 and 2030. FSU will return the favor in 2029.
A Trip Down Memory Lane: The last time FSU played on Californian soil was during the 2014 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the iconic Rose Bowl. Fans might recall the sweet victory of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, also held at the Rose Bowl. As for Texas, the Noles' last showdown was in the 2019 Sun Bowl in El Paso. Their track record in the Lone Star State includes memorable wins against Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
A Glimpse of 2024: FSU's 2024 lineup is nothing short of thrilling. Home games will feature Boston College, North Carolina, Clemson, and Cal. On the road, the Seminoles will face off against Duke, Miami, and SMU. But the cherry on top? A spectacular season opener against Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, on August 24, 2024. The non-conference games for 2024 include Memphis, Notre Dame, Charleston Southern, and Florida.
Mark your calendars, Seminole fans! The exact dates for the ACC matchups in the 2024 season will be announced on January 31, 2024, exclusively on the ACC Network. Until then, let the speculations and the excitement build! ππ’π₯

Date at the Panther Den this Saturday
The No. 4 Seminoles are prepping for an encounter with the Pitt Panthers this Saturday. While FSU is favored by 21 points, memories of their dominant 41-13 victory in Pittsburgh in 2013 linger.
Pitt's 2023 Season:
The Panthers, currently at a 2-6 overall record, have faced challenges. They've undergone a quarterback transition, with Penn State transfer Christian Veilleux now at the helm. Despite their struggles, players like receiver Konata Mumpfield and running back CβBo Flemister have shown flashes of brilliance.
Coach Norvell Weighs In:
Norvell emphasized Pitt's defensive prowess, especially their ability to create tackles for loss. "Narduzzi's defense consistently poses challenges," he remarked.
Pitt ranks 17th in the country in tackles for loss on the season, averaging seven per game. We will be diving deeper into this matchup as the week goes on.
With the game on the horizon, the Seminoles are gearing up for what promises to be an intriguing matchup. As always in college football, the outcome can be unpredictable. ππ’π₯
FSU's Recruiting Radar: Who's Next for the No. 4 Class?
Florida State's 2024 recruiting class has soared to No. 4 nationally, thanks to the recent commitment of five-star DE Armondo Blount. But who else is on the Seminoles' radar?
1. Five-star WR Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State commit):
Smith remains FSU's top target. Despite his commitment to the Buckeyes, his multiple visits to FSU and strong bond with Coach Norvell suggest the 'Noles are still in the game.
2. Four-star OL Jason Zandamela (USC commit):
FSU's relentless pursuit might pay off, especially with USC's recent struggles. An official visit could be the game-changer.
3. Four-star DT Artavius Jones (Miami commit):
Jones' recent visits to FSU, even when Miami had significant games, show the 'Noles are making an impression. Can they flip him?
4. Three-star DT DβNas White:
White's recent visits hint at FSU and Tennessee being the frontrunners. His official visit during the FSU-Miami game will be crucial.
5. Four-star DB Jamari Howard:
Set to decide on Nov. 10, Howard seems to be leaning towards FSU, thanks to his rapport with DBs coach Patrick Surtain.
6. Four-star DB Cai Bates (LSU commit):
While Bates' commitment to LSU seems soft, FSU faces stiff competition, especially from Tennessee.
7. Three-star DB Xavier Lucas (Wisconsin commit):
Lucas' spring visit to FSU and recent communications indicate the Seminoles are still in contention.
With the early signing period just around the corner, FSU's coaching staff is gearing up for some pivotal decisions. Stay tuned as the recruiting drama unfolds! π’ππ₯
