🏈 Key Recruiting Weekend for FSU as They Host Clemson 🏈

While Florida State’s matchup against No. 15 Clemson will take center stage, the Seminoles have a significant recruiting weekend ahead with several top prospects visiting campus. Here are three key storylines to watch:

1. Javion Hilson’s Return to FSU: Former FSU commit, four-star DE Javion Hilson, is back on campus after decommitting, with Texas trending as his current favorite. FSU has a major opportunity to bring him back into the fold, and a strong defensive performance could reignite his interest.

2. Commits Making an Impact: FSU’s four-star commits Byron Louis, Gregory Thomas, and QB Tramell Jones are on campus to help influence potential 2025 and 2026 targets, including four-star RB Todd Robinson. Robinson, currently committed to Georgia, passed up another visit to Athens to attend the FSU game.

3. Winning Over Future Targets: FSU is hosting an impressive group of 2026 talent, including WRs Calvin Russell and Naeem Burroughs, and DBs Zech Fort, Kaiden Hall, and Amari Jones. The Seminoles are also hoping to secure commitments from four-star OL Mario Nash and three-star OL Daniel Pierre-Louis, with Pierre-Louis potentially on commit watch this weekend.

🌟 FSU Commitments Shine in Senior Football Seasons 🌟

Florida State’s 2025 commitments have reached the halfway point of their senior seasons, and many are posting standout performances on Friday nights. Here are three top performers who are making waves and giving Seminoles fans a reason to be excited for the future:

1. TE Commit Chase Loftin (Millard South, NE):
Loftin continues to impress with a stellar senior season, recording 7 receptions for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns in his most recent game. He’s closing in on his junior year stats, already tallying 25 catches for 402 yards and 4 TDs through six games.

2. WR Commit Daylan McCutcheon (Lovejoy, TX):
The four-star WR had another big game, hauling in 10 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. McCutcheon now has 36 receptions for 470 yards and 7 TDs on the season, despite pressure from Texas, USC, and Texas A&M trying to flip him from FSU.

3. WR Commit CJ Wiley (Milton, GA):
Wiley is having an explosive senior season, adding 5 catches for 91 yards and 1 touchdown in his latest game. He’s now up to 30 catches for 577 yards and 6 TDs through seven games.

With these standout performances, the future of FSU football looks bright!

🏈 FSU Falls to No. 15 Clemson in Tough Battle at Doak Campbell Stadium 🏈

The Florida State Seminoles faced a tough challenge on Saturday night as they fell 29-13 to No. 15 Clemson at Doak Campbell Stadium. The Tigers took control early, jumping out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, dropping the Seminoles to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in ACC play.

A Rough Start for FSU
The game started with both teams trading punts after three-and-outs. Clemson then marched down the field for a 26-yard field goal to take an early 3-0 lead. It quickly went downhill for FSU, as Clemson’s quarterback Cade Klubnik connected on a 57-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Williams, followed by a 23-yard TD to T.J. Moore after a Brock Glenn interception, putting Clemson up 17-0 to end the first quarter.

Seminoles Show Some Life
FSU finally found a spark in the second quarter, driving 75 yards down the field for an 8-play touchdown capped by a 13-yard pass from Glenn to freshman tight end Amaree Williams, cutting the deficit to 17-7. However, the Tigers responded with two more field goals before halftime, extending their lead to 23-7 at the break.

Despite flashes of momentum—such as field goal blocks by Edwin Joseph and Patrick Payton—FSU struggled to mount a consistent offensive attack, managing only 22 rushing yards for the game. Clemson outgained the Seminoles 500-250 yards, with 265 yards on the ground led by Phil Mafah’s 154-yard performance.

Glenn’s Grit and Growth
Redshirt freshman quarterback Brock Glenn showed resilience in his third career start, completing 23-of-41 passes for 228 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Glenn’s passing yardage was a career high, surpassing his previous best of 139 yards. His touchdowns tied FSU’s season-high mark, with the second coming on a 12-yard strike to Ja’Khi Douglas in the fourth quarter to pull FSU within 23-13.

While the offense remained inconsistent, Glenn’s mobility and decision-making showed glimpses of promise, particularly on a key fourth-down scramble that electrified the crowd. Despite the loss, Glenn’s confidence was evident, earning praise from teammates and coaches alike for his poise under pressure.

Clemson’s Offensive Dominance
Clemson’s offense controlled the game from start to finish. Klubnik completed 19-of-33 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns, while Mafah’s dominant ground game proved too much for the Seminole defense. FSU’s defense, though, had some standout moments with key tackles for loss and two blocked field goals, but couldn’t consistently stop the Tigers.

Looking Ahead
The Seminoles now enter their bye week before traveling to face Duke on October 18. Despite the disappointing season, the emergence of Glenn and other young players has given fans and the team reason to remain optimistic about the second half of the season.
