Happy Monday, Seminole!
Hereās todayās docket:
š Brock Glenn Shines Despite FSU's Loss to Clemson š
Redshirt freshman QB Brock Glenn took center stage in his first start of the season, posting FSU's highest passing grade of the year (82.4) in the 29-13 loss to No. 15 Clemson. Despite struggles in the run game, Glenn's poise and promising throws offered a hopeful look toward the future.
š FSU Volleyball Sweeps Virginia Tech š
The No. 16 FSU volleyball team dominated Virginia Tech in straight sets, showcasing offensive precision and stellar defense. With an 11th consecutive double-digit kill match by Audrey Koenig, the Noles secured their third ACC win of the season.
ā½ FSU Soccer Suffers Late Comeback Loss to Virginia Tech ā½
No. 6 FSU soccer fell to Virginia Tech in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss, snapping a 21-0-2 unbeaten streak against the Hokies. Despite goals by Jordynn Dudley and Lara Dantas, the Hokies rallied late to hand the Seminoles their second consecutive defeat.
š FSU Still in the Mix for 4-Star DE Javion Hilson After Clemson Visit š
Four-star DE Javion Hilson re-evaluated his interest in FSU after a recent campus visit. Hilson, impressed by the Seminolesā competitive spirit, plans to return for the FSU-Florida game, signaling FSUās strong position in his recruitment.
š FSU Commit Kevin Wynn Remains Firm, But Open to Other Schools š
Defensive line commit Kevin Wynn remains loyal to FSU but is keeping options open, with visits to USC, Tennessee, and Georgia on the horizon. Wynnās presence at the Clemson game showed his continued belief in FSUās potential despite the teamās current struggles.
š FSUās Youth Movement Sparks Optimism Amid Growing Pains š
With a 1-5 record, FSU is leaning on its younger players for a boost. Freshman QB Brock Glenn, TE Landen Thomas, and DE Edwin Joseph stepped up in a tough Clemson matchup, providing hope for the rest of the season.
š Recruiting Heats Up for 4-Star DE Tim (TJ) Griffin š
The Seminoles added to their recruiting momentum by offering 4-star DE TJ Griffin during his recent campus visit. Griffin, who plans to return for an official visit, was drawn to FSUās energy and resilience against Clemson.
š Brock Glenn Shines in Tough Loss to Clemson š
Florida State quarterback Brock Glenn made his first start of the season against No. 15 Clemson, earning an impressive 83.5 grade from Pro Football Focus. Despite the Seminolesā 29-13 loss, Glennās performance offered a glimmer of hope for FSU fans as he completed 23-of-41 passes for 228 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
FSUās offense under Glenn posted its highest Pass Grade of the season at 82.4, a significant improvement from their previous best of 74.4 from DJ Uiagalelei against Memphis. This came despite a lackluster performance from the receiving corps, which recorded the lowest Receiving Grade of the year (57.1) due to multiple drops, including key ones from Darion Williamson and Micahi Danzy.
The spark Glenn provided was undeniable. His Adjusted Completion Percentage of 77.1% and two Big Time Throws showed poise and playmaking ability, especially against Clemsonās ninth-ranked defense. While Glenn's passing numbers were solid, the lack of support from the running game was glaring, with FSUās running backs managing only 28 yards on 16 carries.
While the loss drops FSU to 1-5 on the season, fans found some encouragement in Glennās grit. His fourth-quarter scramble on 4th-and-10, which electrified the student section, exemplified the quarterbackās leadership and fight.
This was a fun run from Brock Glenn to move the chains on 4th&9.

Head coach Mike Norvell praised Glennās confidence and potential, noting the significant growth since his last start. With DJ Uiagalelei sidelined due to injury, the question now is whether Glenn can establish himself as the starter moving forward.
š No. 16 FSU Volleyball Sweeps Virginia Tech in Commanding Fashion š
The No. 16 Florida State volleyball team (11-3, 3-1 ACC) delivered a powerful performance on Sunday afternoon, sweeping Virginia Tech (6-8, 0-4 ACC) in straight sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-22) at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

š FSU Still in the Mix for 4-Star DE Javion Hilson After Clemson Visit š
Florida Stateās recruiting efforts got a boost this weekend with the return of four-star defensive end Javion Hilson to Tallahassee. Hilson, a top-100 prospect who previously decommitted from FSU, is exploring other schools but confirmed that the Seminoles remain a strong contender after witnessing their competitive performance against Clemson.
Key Highlights:
Hilson was impressed by FSUās effort, particularly how they fought back after an early deficit. āThey were fighting until the end, and thatās what I like,ā he shared.
While he remains open to other programs like Texas, Hilson praised FSUās staff, especially defensive ends coach John Papuchis, for maintaining a strong relationship even after his decommitment.
Hilson plans to return to FSU for the Florida game later this season, a promising sign for the Seminoles as they look to win him back.
Opinion from the Warchant team: While this isnāt a definitive shift in Hilsonās recruitment, his return visit and upcoming plans to attend another game (against UF) signal that FSU remains a serious option. If the team continues to show improvement on the field, especially with some key victories, the Seminoles could very well re-secure Hilsonās commitment.
š 4-Star DL Commit Kevin Wynn Remains Firm but Open in Recruitment š
Four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn, one of FSUās top-ranked commitments, was also on campus to watch the Seminoles battle Clemson. While FSUās season has been far from stellar, Wynn remains committed to the programāthough heās keeping the door open to other opportunities.
Key Highlights:
Wynn appreciated the Seminoles' effort, even in the loss. "They played real hard," he said, adding that despite the defeat, FSU "definitely had opportunities to turn it back around."
Wynn remains committed to FSU largely due to his sense of "loyalty" to the program, but he acknowledged that his recruitment is still ongoing, with several visits to other schools on the horizon.
He plans to visit USC this upcoming weekend and has tentative trips lined up to Tennessee, Georgia, and Colorado. However, Wynn is also looking forward to returning to FSU for the Florida game in November.
Scouting Report: At 6-foot-2, 320 pounds, Wynn is a disruptive force on the defensive line with explosive athleticism, quick first steps, and heavy hands. His multi-sport background (Shot Put and Discus) adds to his physicality, making him a top prospect in the 2025 class with a high NFL Draft ceiling.
š FSU's Youth Movement Shows Promise Amid 29-13 Loss to Clemson š
With a 1-5 record at the midpoint of the 2024 season, Florida State has been turning to its younger talent for answers. That shift continued on Saturday night against No. 15 Clemson, with several freshmen and sophomores stepping up in a hard-fought 29-13 loss.
Brock Glennās Breakout
Redshirt freshman quarterback Brock Glenn made his third career start, completing 23-of-41 passes for 228 yards with two touchdowns. His performance set career highs in completions and passing yards, marking a significant step forward against a top 10 defense.

Sophomore wide receiver Hykeem Williams set career highs with four receptions for 53 yards, catching all of his targets, while freshman receiver BJ Gibson made his debut with a few late-game snaps.
Defense and Special Teams Contributions
Redshirt sophomore linebacker Omar Graham Jr. made his second start, leading the team with a career-high eight tackles and a pass breakup.
Sophomore linebackers Blake Nichelson and Justin Cryer were active, with Nichelson making six tackles in his fifth career start.
Redshirt freshman defensive back Edwin Joseph recorded a blocked field goal, marking FSUās third consecutive game with a blocked kick.
Growing Pains on the Offensive Line
Redshirt freshman offensive guard Andreā Otto made his first career start but struggled against Clemsonās tough defensive front. Ottoās performance was a learning experience, as the Seminoles fielded their ninth different offensive line combination of the season.
Looking Ahead
Despite the loss, FSUās youth movement is showing promise, especially on offense. Glennās performance, along with contributions from players like Thomas and Williams, has given fans a glimpse of the future. As the Seminoles enter their bye week, head coach Mike Norvell hinted that more opportunities for young players could be on the horizon, particularly given the struggles of veteran players in key positions.
Norvell said, āWeāre going to continue to push opportunities because at the end of the day, we left too many plays out there on the field.ā
š 4-Star DE Tim (TJ) Griffin's Recruitment Heats Up š
Tim (TJ) Griffin, a rising star in the 2025 recruiting class, has seen his recruitment skyrocket in recent weeks. The Covington (Ga.) Alcovy four-star defensive end has received offers from some of the nationās top programs, including Notre Dame, Alabama, and Florida.
Florida State joined the mix after Griffin visited campus for the Seminoles' game against Clemson on Saturday. Despite FSUās 29-13 loss, Griffin was impressed with the atmosphere at Doak Campbell Stadium and the fight displayed by the team.
Key Highlights:
Griffin, who stands at 6'5" and weighs 257 lbs, loved the energy and effort of the FSU defense, particularly how the defensive line continued to battle despite being down by 20 points. "They were still getting after it, and that's what I liked the most," Griffin said.
During his visit, Griffin met with FSU defensive ends coach John Papuchis and defensive line coach Odell Haggins, who personally extended the offer to him before the game. FSU is recruiting him as a versatile defensive lineman who can play both edge and interior positions.
Griffin, highly focused on improving his ball get-off technique, appreciated the opportunity to observe FSUās defensive ends, saying, "I want to watch where I want to go, and thatās Division I football."
Griffin plans to return to FSU for an official visit "as soon as possible." His upcoming official visit schedule includes Florida on October 19, Cincinnati on November 9, and Georgia State on November 15, but Florida State is still firmly in the mix.
And thatās a wrap!
With Brock Glennās impressive debut, FSUās resilient youth stepping up, and exciting recruiting developments, the Seminoles are gearing up for an improved second half of the season.
While challenges remain, these sparks of promise offer plenty for FSU fans to rally around. Whether on the field or in the recruiting arena, the future looks bright for the Garnet and Gold. Go Noles! š¢
