🔥 Early Standouts

  • RB Ousmane Kromah: 68 rush yds (5.7 YPC), plus a 43-yd TD catch.

  • WR Jayvan Boggs: First FSU true freshman WR to start a season opener since 1992. Key blocking despite 1 catch (TD).

  • DL Mandrell Desir: 6 tackles, TFL in 41 snaps.

  • DL Darryll Desir: 1 tackle in 37 snaps, consistent effort.

🩹 Yet to Debut
OL Chastan Brown, Mario Nash Jr., Sean Poret, DL Kevin Wynn (injured), DL L.A. Jessie Harrold (injured/developing), LB Ethan Pritchard (unavailable).

Why It Matters: This class is already reshaping FSU’s depth chart — with Sperry, Kromah, and Boggs looking like cornerstones for the future.

🏀 2027 Hoops Targets Impressed by Tallahassee 🏀

Florida State men’s basketball hosted four top 2027 prospects on Saturday, giving the group a chance to watch practice, tour campus, and connect with head coach Luke Loucks and his staff. Early feedback shows the visits left strong impressions.

🔥 Prospect Reactions

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jeremy Jenkins (PF, Overtime Elite, No. 30 overall)
“Was a great visit. The program is going to be back to the old FSU basketball real soon.” Plans to return in summer or fall 2026.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oneal Delancy (CG, Montverde, No. 66 overall)
“I felt very welcomed there. The campus was electric… Coach Loucks broke down how he ran his offense and defense and even let me know how I fit in.” Plans an official visit next year.

  • ⭐⭐⭐ Marcus “MJ” Curry Jr. (SG, Grayson, GA, No. 105 overall)
“Everything was great from the campus to the staff.” Expects to return for another visit.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ CJ Rosser (PF, Southeastern Prep, No. 3 overall)
Still hasn’t commented publicly, but as one of the elite prospects in the class, his presence on campus was significant.

Why It Matters: With the No. 1 class already secured for 2026, Loucks and staff are keeping momentum alive by impressing the next wave of blue-chip talent in 2027.

🏈 FSU Swagger Drawing Praise from Former Noles 🏈

Former Seminole linebacker Brian Allen, a starter on FSU’s 1999 national championship team, says the 2025 squad is bringing back the championship swagger that alumni have long craved.

🔥 Alumni Excitement

  • Allen, now the head coach at Lake City Columbia, said he sees an “attitude that’s special” in the 2–0 Noles.

  • “It reminded me of those teams in the ’90s,” he said. “You go into the game knowing you are going to win — not thinking, guessing or hoping.”

  • Allen added that every former player he’s spoken to is fired up about FSU’s season-opening upset over Alabama.

🌟 Players Standing Out

  • QB Tommy Castellanos has energized the program with smart play and toughness.

  • S Earl Little Jr. has especially caught Allen’s eye: “The way he reads, reacts and is around the ball… I would have loved to play with that guy.”

🧠 Defensive Praise

  • Allen lauded new DC Tony White and his 3–3–5 scheme, saying the disguise and versatility are “impressive” and give FSU fresh ways to apply pressure.

Why It Matters: The 2025 team isn’t just winning games — it’s reigniting pride among alumni who built the Dynasty years.

🔥 Transfer Portal Hits & Misses 🔥

After last season’s shaky portal haul, Florida State’s 2025 transfer class is already proving to be a game-changer. Of the 23 additions, nearly all expected two-deep contributors have delivered in the first two games — and a few have been outright stars.

💪 Clear Hits

  • QB Tommy Castellanos — Most accurate passer in the country through two games, plus a dual-threat weapon.

  • WR Duce Robinson — 173 yards & 2 TD vs. East Texas A&M, showing five-star flashes.

  • OT Micah Pettus — Anchor in pass protection (84.8 PFF grade), a must-win addition.

  • RB Gavin Sawchuk — 4 TDs in two games, steady in the rotation.

  • LB Stefon Thompson — Big sack vs. Alabama, strong presence in White’s 3-3-5.

⚠️ Mixed Bags

  • EDGE James Williams — Struggled vs. the run but elite pass-rush win rate (23%).

  • CB Jerry Wilson — Reliable leadership but relatively untested so far.

  • OC Luke Petitbon — Solid leader, but average PFF grade.

Potential Misses

  • EDGE Deamontae Diggs — Just one pressure in 11 attempts; depth piece at best.

  • WR Gavin Blackwell — Injured and buried on depth chart (only 5 snaps).

Why It Matters: With the highest-volume portal class of the Norvell era, the Seminoles couldn’t afford another flop. Two games in, the transfers are stabilizing the roster, raising the floor, and fueling a 2-0 start.

🏐 Elena Lam: FSU’s Relentless Freshman 🏐

Florida State beach volleyball freshman Elena Lam lives by what she and her father call the Three Truths of Sport: first you’re ridiculed, then you’re hated, then you’re loved.

🔥 Built Different

  • Lam is a self-described “villain” on the court, prioritizing winning above everything else — no parties, no cheat days, and no wasted nights.

  • She’s modeled her scrappy, unorthodox style after Olympic legends like Laura Ludwig and Brooke Sweat, but insists: “I don’t want to be known as ‘she plays like this person.’ I want to be known as: she plays like her.”

  • Already a proven winner on the USA Volleyball circuit, Lam brings intensity, creativity, and a chip on her shoulder to Tallahassee.

🌟 Big Goal
Lam’s only focus? Winning a National Championship at FSU. Her teammates have already felt her infectious energy — even in team bonding events like escape rooms, Lam’s side found a way to win.

Why It Matters: FSU might have landed not just a future AVP pro, but one of the most mentality-driven athletes on campus.

⚽ Noles Open 3-Game Roadtrip at Syracuse ⚽
