🏈 Florida State Drops to 0-3 After 20-12 Loss to Memphis 🏈

Florida State’s struggles continued Saturday, falling to Memphis 20-12 in a frustrating game at Doak Campbell Stadium. Despite a late push in the fourth quarter, FSU couldn’t overcome early mistakes, including two turnovers and special teams mishaps.

DJ Uiagalelei passed for 201 yards, with Malik Benson leading FSU's receivers with 99 yards. The defense had its moments, holding Memphis to just 65 rushing yards, but Florida State’s offense managed only 67 first-half yards and never fully recovered.

Memphis capitalized on FSU’s turnovers, including a fumble on the second play of the game that set up their first field goal. Memphis scored again after intercepting Uiagalelei in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 13-3 lead.

FSU’s second-half rally saw Roydell Williams score a 4-yard touchdown after a 67-yard pass to Benson. Justin Cryer’s interception set up a field goal, cutting the Tigers’ lead to 20-12, but the final drive ended on a batted-down Hail Mary attempt.

The Seminoles will look to bounce back next Saturday when they host Cal in a crucial home matchup.

🏈 Florida State Falls to Memphis, 20-12: A Tough Loss in Troubling Times 🏈

Florida State's 20-12 defeat to Memphis on Saturday highlighted deeper issues that have plagued the team all season. While a final Hail Mary offered hope, the game never truly felt close. The Tigers outmatched FSU in nearly every statistical category—more yards, better third-down conversions, and superior time of possession. Despite being a seven-point favorite, the Seminoles struggled to find momentum.

FSU’s offense remained disjointed. DJ Uiagalelei passed for 201 yards, but the Seminoles' ground game, once again, faltered with only 37 rushing yards. Malik Benson had a standout game with 99 receiving yards, yet the offensive line allowed four sacks and provided little protection or run support. The defense held strong at moments, limiting Memphis to 65 rushing yards, but turnovers and penalties doomed FSU, setting up Memphis for key scores.

This loss adds to a difficult start for head coach Mike Norvell, who now faces increased scrutiny. “I know we’re better than this,” Norvell lamented. But with three straight losses, the hope from last year’s 13-win season feels distant. The Seminoles need to regroup quickly as they prepare for Cal next week, with questions about the program’s direction intensifying.

🏈 FSU Faces Turbulent Start: Jordan Travis Urges Support Amid 0-3 Struggles 🏈

Florida State's 0-3 start has sent shockwaves through the fanbase, marking the worst beginning to a season for a preseason top-10 team in AP Poll history. The latest 20-12 loss to Memphis added more pressure on head coach Mike Norvell, who now faces his second 0-3 stretch during his FSU tenure.

Former star quarterback Jordan Travis, who led FSU’s resurgence in previous seasons, took to social media, urging fans to support the struggling team. "They need our support more than anything right now," Travis posted, reminding fans of the Seminoles’ challenging journey in recent years under Norvell.

On the field, FSU’s struggles start at quarterback. Transfer DJ Uiagalelei has faced significant criticism after three games, completing just 56.6% of his passes and throwing one touchdown to two interceptions. Sacked eight times in three games, Uiagalelei's inconsistency has only compounded FSU's offensive woes.

The Seminoles now face a steep uphill battle, with any hopes of playoff contention all but dashed. With back-to-back conference losses and tougher ACC matchups ahead, the Seminoles' sole path to salvage the season lies in winning the ACC—a near-impossible task given their rough start.

🔥 FSU Extends Offers to Top 2026 and 2027 Prospects 🔥

Florida State is making moves on the recruiting front. Before the Memphis game, FSU offered 2026 four-star safety Xavier Lherisse from Melbourne, Fla. After the game, two elite 2027 prospects—Sequel Patterson and KJ Green—also received offers from the Seminoles.

Patterson, a 6'0", 165-pound athlete, is ranked No. 13 nationally in the 2027 class and No. 1 in South Carolina. Meanwhile, Green, a 6'5", 215-pound edge rusher from Georgia, is ranked No. 69 overall and already boasts offers from Clemson, Georgia, and Auburn.

🔥 Four-Star WR Malik Clark Stays Firm with FSU Despite Interest from Other Schools 🔥

Florida State secured a major commitment in July from four-star wide receiver Malik Clark, overcoming competition from North Carolina and South Carolina. Despite FSU’s early struggles this season, Clark remains committed to the Seminoles, expressing his belief in Coach Mike Norvell and the program’s direction.

While South Carolina and UNC continue to stay in touch, Clark is focused on seeing FSU make the necessary improvements, especially with offensive line coach Alex Atkins back in the mix. He’s confident in the staff and is still “locked in” as a Nole.

And that’s a wrap!

While the road ahead looks tough, the Seminoles still have a chance to turn things around. Let’s show them some support and gear up for the next game against Cal.

Stay tuned for more updates and recruiting news, and as always, Go Noles!
