⚽ Dudley’s Header Lifts Noles Past UNC ⚽
Really nice signature victory for @FSUSoccer at UNC. Chapel Hill is nearly impossible to win in. #Noles dominated the match and Pensky has himself another Championship caliber squad.

No. 7 Florida State (7–0–1, 3–0–0 ACC) stayed unbeaten and extended its shutout streak with a 1–0 road win at No. 18 North Carolina on Wednesday night — the Noles’ third straight win in the rivalry and fifth clean sheet in a row.
🔥 Match-Winner
59’ — Jordynn Dudley buried a header from an Enasia Colon cross (assist also to Taylor Suarez) for her 3rd goal of 2025 and 26th of her career.
Dudley led all players with 5 shots, including 2 on target.
🧱 Defensive Wall
Addie Todd: 3 second-half saves to secure the clean sheet.
FSU defense held UNC to 10 shots (3 on goal) despite a 7–3 corner deficit.
Streaks extended: 514 consecutive shutout minutes, 5 straight clean sheets, unbeaten in 18 straight matches.
📊 Rivalry Context
FSU improves to 15–31–6 all-time vs. UNC, the most wins of any program against the Tar Heels.
Since 2011: 13–7–4 vs. Carolina, including 3 straight wins.
⏭️ What’s Next
The Seminoles wrap up their road trip Sunday at NC State (1 p.m. ET).

Florida State baseball will play three fall exhibitions — Mississippi State in Pensacola (Oct. 18), UAB at Dick Howser Stadium (Oct. 25), and the Garnet & Gold All-Star Game (Oct. 31). It will be the first look at a dramatically reshaped roster under Link Jarrett.
🔥 Roster Turnover
22 players departed via draft, graduation, or portal.
22 newcomers added: 9 freshmen, 9 DI transfers, 3 JUCO, 1 DII.
Only 7 pitchers return from last year’s staff.
📊 By the Numbers
Returners: 17 (10 position players, 7 pitchers).
43.9% of at-bats + 37.6% of innings pitched back.
Returning bats: .294 AVG, .896 OPS (but 27% K-rate).
Returning arms: 5.92 ERA across 187 IP (Mendes threw 78).
🌟 New Faces
Portal bats hit .328 with .994 OPS + 30 HRs last season.
Transfer pitchers logged a 3.27 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 11.4 K/9 over 220 IP.
Freshmen Cam Odom + Presley Woodson are back healthy from injuries.
⏭️ What’s Next
Exhibitions will preview a roster heavy on newcomers, with depth across the mound and added quality at the plate.
🔄 NCAA Shifts to Single Transfer Portal Window 🔄
The NCAA is eliminating the spring transfer portal window and shifting to a single portal window, sources tell @CBSSports
— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz)
10:29 PM • Sep 17, 2025
The NCAA has officially voted to eliminate the spring football transfer portal, moving to a single annual window — though the exact dates remain undecided.
🔥 What Changed
The spring portal is gone — no more second wave of departures.
Oversight proposed Jan. 2–11, but that date hasn’t been finalized.
A 10-day version was floated earlier this month but not approved.
📌 Exceptions
A 30-day window still opens if a head coach is fired (like UCLA + Virginia Tech this past weekend).
🗣️ Debate Continues
Supporters: Keeps rosters intact through bowl/playoff season.
Critics: Coaches worry about timing — especially playoff teams.
Ohio State’s Ryan Day: “It doesn’t make any sense… how are teams in the playoffs supposed to juggle this while preparing for games?”
🌟 Why It Matters
The move simplifies roster management but raises questions about fairness and recruiting leverage, especially for playoff-bound programs.
Invest in South America's next and largest Lithium brine deposit
Imagine an opportunity so significant, it could redefine wealth generation in the mining sector. We're talking about a Lithium Salar twice the size of the biggest known deposit in the world poised to deliver unprecedented returns.
This isn't just another mining venture; it's a potential stock multiplier unlike anything currently available, with returns expected in as little as six months.
Our newly identified Lithium Salar represents an extraordinary supply answer to this escalating demand. Its sheer scale offers a strategic advantage, minimizing extraction complexities and maximizing output potential.
💪 WR Room Getting Healthier Ahead of Kent State 💪
#FSU Freshman Wide Receiver Lawayne McCoy is Disgusting 🤢
— Clay Fink (@clay_fink)
3:58 AM • Jun 3, 2024
Florida State’s wide receiver group is trending upward as the Noles gear up for Kent State — and an eight-game ACC stretch right after.
🔥 Injury Updates
Squirrel White: Returned to practice Wednesday after injuring his wrist/hand vs. ETAMU. Still questionable for Saturday but trending positive.
Lawayne McCoy: Expected to make his season debut. Called a “Tier 1 receiver” by Norvell, he could add a big boost despite limited career production (6 catches).
Kevin Wynn: Freshman DL likely won’t suit up Saturday, but Norvell hinted next week could be realistic.
🗣️ Norvell’s Take
On White: “It was a good step for him today.”
On practice: “Today was a championship day… competitive, fast. Pleased with what I’m seeing.”
📌 Why It Matters
Getting healthier at receiver could give FSU’s offense more firepower as the team enters the grind of ACC play.
⏭️ What’s Next
FSU (2–0) hosts Kent State (1–2) Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Doak.
🌟 Recruiting Buzz: Kent State Weekend 🌟
I don't believe in hype. I believe in work.

With the Seminoles riding momentum into Week 3, FSU’s recruiting efforts remain busy on several fronts — even if this weekend’s Kent State visitor list is expected to be lighter due to family weekend in Tallahassee.
🔥 Edge Focus
Trenton Henderson (5⭐, LSU commit) — FSU is staying in touch, though a flip isn’t expected soon; any chance would come later in the fall.
Other EDGE targets — FSU continues conversations with multiple high-end prospects; visits will be confirmed later.
🚫 Miami Weekend Shuffle
Originally scheduled officials Jarius Rodgers, Chris Carbin, and Gustaf Henriks Ras will be moved to later dates (likely Pitt, Wake, or VT). Instead, the Oct. 4 Miami showdown will be loaded with unofficial visitors, including Syracuse EDGE commit Kamron Wilson and Texas RB commit Derrek Cooper.
💪 New Names Emerging
Frederic Sainteus (DL) — Fast-riser and FAU decommit; offered Monday, expected in Tallahassee this weekend.
Yahya Gaad (DL, UCLA decommit) — Already confirmed for Saturday’s game.
Jaemin Pinckney (USF commit, EDGE) — Plans to visit for the Miami game; senior tape has impressed.
Broderick Peters (DL, Southern Miss commit) — Set to visit for the Kent State game.
👀 Flip Watch
With Florida stumbling, FSU is staying in contact with Carsyn Baker (4⭐ RB commit) and Kaiden Hall (3⭐ safety commit). Both fit positional needs and remain worth monitoring.
🆕 OT Visitor Added
Conner Rutherford (2026, 6’6”, 295, Chillicothe, OH) — Two-sport athlete (also wrestles) with a 3.6 GPA. Offers from Toledo and Marshall already, and FSU OL coach Herb Hand is evaluating closely. Will be in Tallahassee for the Kent State game.
📌 Why It Matters
Even with a smaller visitor list this weekend, FSU is balancing immediate opportunities (new decommits, sleepers, and flip candidates) with long-term O-line evaluations — showing a sharper recruiting operation capitalizing on both success and rivals’ instability.
And that’s a wrap!
That’s all for today’s Chief Brief — the Noles keep stacking wins, roster depth is taking shape, and the recruiting machine keeps churning. Buckle up, because the ACC grind is about to begin.
See you tomorrow, Chief. 🍢
