🏀 Michael Fly Promoted to GM on FSU Staff 🏀

Florida State men’s basketball promoted assistant coach Michael Fly to the role of General Manager, expanding his responsibilities as Luke Loucks continues to build the program in his first season.

🔥 Why It Matters

  • Fly has been instrumental in helping FSU secure the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for 2025.

  • He’ll now handle key areas including recruiting, roster building, NIL management, agent relationships, and cap management.

  • Loucks praised Fly’s “20-year history of recruiting and roster building experience,” noting his ability to build authentic relationships and navigate the evolving college landscape.

📊 Fly’s Resume

  • Associate HC at Jacksonville (2023–25).

  • Head coach at Florida Gulf Coast (2018–22), leading FGCU to multiple NCAA Tournament berths.

  • Video coordinator on Leonard Hamilton’s FSU staff early in his career.

  • Worked under Andy Enfield and Dennis Gates, with experience in analytics and scouting at Missouri.

📌 Why It Matters
By elevating Fly, Loucks keeps a proven recruiter and strategist in-house — critical for sustaining momentum as the Seminoles aim to capitalize on their elite 2025 recruiting class.

⚾ Noles Baseball Opens Fall Practice ⚾

Florida State baseball officially kicked off fall ball Monday with its first full team practice under head coach Link Jarrett. The Seminoles will play three exhibition games this fall:

  • Oct. 18 vs. Mississippi State in Pensacola

  • Oct. 25 vs. UAB at Dick Howser Stadium

  • Oct. 31 Garnet & Gold All-Star Game at home

🔥 Jarrett’s Take

  • Called this fall “the most excited I’ve been in 26 years of coaching.”

  • Emphasized teaching team concepts early: fly ball communication, cutoffs, bunt defenses, relays.

  • Praised the staff’s roster building after heavy MLB Draft losses, highlighting added pitching depth and athleticism in the outfield.

  • Noted 23 new players on the 39-man roster — a major infusion of fresh talent.

🌟 2026 DL Judah Daniels Commits to FSU 🌟

Florida State added another piece to its 2026 recruiting class Monday as 6’3, 265-pound defensive lineman Judah Daniels announced his commitment.

🔥 Recruitment Journey

  • Originally evaluated as an offensive lineman, but DL coach Terrance Knighton had him switch sides during a spring practice visit.

  • Earned an FSU offer after impressing at the Elite Camp on June 1 and again at the FAU/FSU satellite camp.

  • Transitioned to defensive line full-time this fall, quickly flashing potential with his get-off and hand work.

🗣️ Daniels on FSU
“FSU always treated me with love and respect … as soon as [Coach Knighton] told me I could commit, I told him I was committing the next Monday. I knew it was home.”

📊 Class Impact

  • Becomes FSU’s 24th commit in the 2026 class, ranked No. 14 nationally.

  • Projects to play interior defensive line at the college level.

  • Plans to return to Tallahassee for the FSU–Miami game next week.

🛡️ 3⭐ DL/EDGE Damaad Lewis Sets FSU Official Visit 🛡️

Florida State is making moves in the trenches, locking in an official visit from Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park defensive lineman/EDGE Damaad Lewis for the weekend of Nov. 1 vs. Wake Forest.

🔥 Recruitment Snapshot

  • 6’4, 245 lbs defender offered by FSU in late August.

  • Recently released a top five of NC State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Washington before FSU entered the mix.

  • NC State has hosted him officially and felt like the frontrunner, but the Seminoles now have a real shot to shake things up.

  • Rated high three-star (89) by 247Sports.

📊 Notable Background

  • Younger brother of Damien Lewis, former LSU standout and current Carolina Panthers starting guard.

  • Seen as an “emerging importance” target for FSU’s 2026 class, per Noles247.

🛡️ 4⭐ LB Jacob Curry Reacts to FSU Offer 🛡️

Florida State is aiming to add another linebacker in its 2026 class, and the staff is making a push for Nease standout Jacob Curry, whose recruitment has surged in recent months.

🔥 Recruitment Snapshot

  • Curry received his FSU offer Friday night, just before kickoff vs. St. Augustine.

  • Though the offer came later than others, Curry has visited FSU multiple times for camps and game days.

  • He was previously committed to Northwestern, but his stock has since risen to 4⭐ status.

🗣️ Curry on FSU

  • On timing of the offer: “I believe it’s never too late … if it’s the right fit and I really like the coaches, it won’t stop me.”

  • On FSU’s play this season: “Beating Alabama shows how far they’ve come. They play with passion, effort, and aggression.”

  • On Norvell: Praised him as “a great coach and leader” who stays involved with players.

📊 The Competition

  • Took an official to Oklahoma last weekend, calling it “blown away” impressive.

  • Officials also scheduled to Ohio State and Baylor.

  • Plans to attend an FSU game in coming weeks before deciding if he’ll lock in an OV.

  • Decision expected before December graduation.

📌 Why It Matters
Curry says FSU is “absolutely in contention,” but with Oklahoma pushing hardest, the Seminoles will need to maximize his upcoming game-day visit to close the gap.

🌟 4⭐ TE Jaxon Dollar Sets FSU Visit 🌟

Top247 tight end Jaxon Dollar (No. 5 TE, No. 92 overall in 2027) will be in Tallahassee next weekend for Florida State’s primetime showdown vs. Miami.

🔥 Recruitment Snapshot

  • Dollar (6’5, 222) attends East Lincoln (Denver, N.C.).

  • Originally planned to visit NC State this Saturday but canceled due to family matters.

  • Has already visited North Carolina, LSU, Tennessee, and saw Miami play last weekend.

  • Carries a 4⭐ rating of 90 per 247Sports.

📌 Why It Matters
Landing Dollar would give FSU a national-level prospect at tight end in 2027. With his FSU visit now set for the Miami game, the Noles will get a major opportunity to impress him on one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the year.

🌟 True Freshmen Noles Earning National Recognition 🌟

A third of the way through the season, several FSU freshmen are already making waves in advanced-analytics evaluations — proving the 2025 class is paying dividends early.

🔥 Chavez Thompson (C)

  • Earned No. 1 grade among all true freshman centers nationally (PFF overall 68.5).

  • Allowed zero pressures and no sacks across 36 snaps vs. Kent State.

  • Ranks No. 1 in pass-blocking (76.9) and No. 2 in run-blocking (65.0) among freshmen centers.

🔥 Mandrell Desir (DT) — Honorable Mention

  • Cited as one of the top freshman defensive tackles in the country.

  • PFF run defense grade: 90.1 (3rd nationally).

  • Already part of FSU’s deep defensive front rotation.

📌 Why It Matters
With Thompson stabilizing the offensive line depth and Desir emerging up front on defense, FSU’s freshman class is showing signs of being a foundational group that can impact both sides of the ball right away.

And that’s a wrap!

From roster shakeups to recruiting momentum, it’s clear the Seminoles are firing on all cylinders this fall. With Miami week on the horizon, every headline is building toward a primetime stage at Doak.

Until next time — stay locked in, and as always, Go Noles! 🍢
