Koenig dominated both matches, racking up 36 kills and averaging 4.5 kills per set. She hit an impressive .333 for the week and has now posted double-digit kills in eight consecutive matches.

In Wednesday's five-set thriller, Koenig dropped a season-high 23 kills and added 14 digs. On Sunday, she led the Noles again with 13 kills in the sweep over Miami, hitting .324 on 34 attempts.

Koenig becomes the first Seminole to win an ACC award this season. FSU is back in action this Friday against Virginia at 7 p.m. on ACCNX.

The full schedule will be released soon, and fans can catch all the action live on FloSports. This prestigious tournament, held at Nancy Almaraz Stadium, is known for bringing top teams together to kick off the softball season in style.

🏈 FSU Extends Offer to 3-Star Defensive Lineman Benny Patterson 🏈

With only one defensive lineman currently committed to their 2025 class, the Seminoles are exploring new options to bolster their defensive front.

Today, FSU extended a scholarship offer to 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive lineman Benny Patterson, a three-star prospect from Indiana.

Patterson, currently committed to Cincinnati, has seen a surge in recruitment interest this season, with FSU, LSU, and USC all offering him in recent weeks.

He recently visited USC for their game against Wisconsin. Ranked as the No. 117 defensive lineman in the nation by 247Sports, Patterson is also considered the 23rd best player in Indiana.

🏈 FSU Commit Kevin Wynn Considers Weekend Visit Amid Recruitment Pressure 🏈

Four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn, committed to FSU since June, is considering a visit to Tallahassee for this weekend’s Clemson game. Wynn, ranked No. 8 among defensive linemen for 2025, is also drawing interest from Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and USC.

With multiple programs in the mix, getting Wynn back on campus could be key for the Seminoles as they look to secure his commitment amidst stiff competition.

🏈 FSU Offers Rising 2026 OT Prospect Claude Mpouma 🏈

Florida State has extended an offer to 6-foot-7, 308-pound offensive tackle Claude Mpouma, a unique recruit in the 2026 class.

Mpouma, originally from Cameroon, has only played a few games of football but has already garnered attention from nine schools, including FSU, Illinois, and Miami.

Despite being new to the sport, Mpouma is quickly improving and embracing challenges. He’s still learning about the schools offering him scholarships but is excited for the future, saying, “I feel blessed...God wants me to be great.”

While Mpouma plans to visit schools after the season, he’s keeping his options open, expressing that distance won’t be a deciding factor in his decision.

🏈 FSU Loses OL Richie Leonard to Season-Ending Injury 🏈

Florida State’s offensive line has taken another hit as head coach Mike Norvell announced that senior offensive lineman Richie Leonard is out for the rest of the season.

Leonard, a transfer from Florida, started the first three games of the season at left guard and has been one of the more consistent players on the line with a PFF grade of 64.8.

Leonard’s absence adds to FSU’s growing list of injuries, which already includes running back Jaylin Lucas.

With Leonard out, Keiondre Jones and Bryson Estes are listed as co-starters at left guard, while TJ Ferguson and Andre' Otto will rotate at right guard.

FSU’s offensive line has been struggling this season, and the loss of Leonard is another blow as the Seminoles look to find stability heading into the remainder of the season.

🎯 FSU’s Young Players See Increased Action in Loss to SMU 🎯

As Florida State’s season continues to unfold with a disappointing 1-4 start, the Seminoles are giving more playing time to their underclassmen.

While the results have been mixed, a few of FSU’s young players are starting to make their mark, gaining valuable experience in the process. Here’s a look at the standout performances from FSU’s younger players in the 42-16 loss to SMU:

Key Highlights from Underclassmen:

  • Brock Glenn (QB): Despite limited action after DJ Uiagalelei’s injury, Glenn graded out at 68.5, though he went 0-for-4 passing with a drop on one of his attempts.

  • Hykeem Williams (WR): The promising wide receiver played 35 snaps, tallying one catch for 11 yards but needs more opportunities.

  • Landen Thomas (TE): Thomas secured his first career touchdown with a 20-yard reception but struggled with a lower PFF grade of 42.7.

  • Blake Nichelson (LB): Nichelson continued to emerge as a key contributor with 3 tackles and a half sack, playing 37 snaps at linebacker.

  • KJ Kirkland (DB): Kirkland has stepped up as a starter at safety, recording 6 tackles and a pass breakup with a solid PFF grade of 71.5.

While FSU’s younger players are getting more time on the field, consistency remains a challenge. The Seminoles hope to see continued development as they move forward in the season.

🎯 Norvell Faces Critical Decisions as FSU Struggles Continue 🎯

The pressure is mounting for Mike Norvell and his Florida State football team, as a dismal 1-4 start to the season has led to some significant changes.

In the aftermath of the Seminoles' 42-16 loss to SMU, Norvell’s frustration was more palpable than ever during his weekly press conference on Monday, signaling that major adjustments could be on the horizon for his team.

A Turning Point in Accountability: Norvell, who has always taken ownership of his team’s struggles, was notably more direct in challenging his players after the SMU defeat.

While he didn’t shy away from placing responsibility on himself, he also made it clear that the performance on the field was unacceptable.

"Our guard play has not been as good as it needs to be," Norvell said, openly criticizing the offensive line’s struggles. The message was clear: positions are up for grabs, and no one is safe.

This sentiment was reflected in the updated depth chart, where several starting positions, including quarterback, now list an "OR" between veteran players and younger backups. It’s a clear signal that performance, not seniority, will dictate playing time moving forward.

Quarterback Controversy: The most significant change comes at quarterback, where senior DJ Uiagalelei is listed as a co-starter alongside redshirt freshman Brock Glenn.

Uiagalelei’s inconsistent play and a recent finger injury have opened the door for Glenn to potentially start against Clemson.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Uiagalelei is expected to miss the next few weeks due to the injury, paving the way for Glenn to step in and lead the offense.

Glenn, who saw limited action in the loss to SMU, is unproven but represents a possible shift towards a future-focused approach for Norvell and his staff.

The decision to play Glenn against Clemson could mark a pivotal moment for the Seminoles as they look to salvage their season.

A New Era for FSU? Norvell’s decision to shake up the depth chart, combined with his public challenge to his players, suggests that he is ready to make bold moves to right the ship.

With seven weeks remaining in the season, FSU fans are hoping that these changes will lead to a turnaround and give them hope for 2025. As Norvell said during his press conference, "If you’re a real one, you’re going to rise up."

The Seminoles' clash with Clemson this Saturday will be a critical test of these adjustments, as the team looks to regain its footing and show resilience in the face of adversity.
