Florida State's No. 7 ranking this week is the highest in the Week Three AP poll for a team that was unranked in the preseason since the AP began ranking 25 teams in 1989. FSU is only the fourth preseason unranked team to reach the top 10 in the Week Three rankings in the AP's

🏹 Welcome to The Chief Brief! 🏹
🏆 This Week in Garnet & Gold
🏈 Bye-week wins: Corrections > celebrations. Staff hammered red-zone timing, situational ball, and ball security while the two-deep got healthier.
📋 Depth tweaks: RB room reshuffled (🚀 Gavin Sawchuk up front; ⚡️ Jaylin Lucas/Ousmane Kromah co-starters behind him), and Micahi Danzy kept climbing the WR rotation.
🔁 Recruiting: Kent State weekend sets up a heavyweight visit list (EDGE/LB/OT priorities), plus 2027 skill talent circling back after the Top-10 surge.
⚽ Soccer stays ruthless: The champs kept the clean sheets coming and opened league play with intensity you could hear from the parking lot.
🏐 Volleyball stacks reps: Serving pressure up, first-ball sideout sharper, and the freshmen aren’t blinking under TV lights.
🗓️ Game-week ON: Doak’s doors swing back open Saturday—time to turn polish into points.

🏈 Bye-Week → Game-Week: What Actually Changed
Gavin Sawchuk was one of the country's most efficient runners in 2023, averaging more than 3.00 YPC both before and after contact.
Vision, tempo-based running, and some creativity all played a role in that effectiveness.
More on Sawchuk here:

Install focus 🔧: short-yardage and 2-minute sequencing, plus a fresh special-teams emphasis (return fits and punt protection got extra love).
Health 🩹: key playmakers trending up; snap-count plans give the RB/WR rooms a deeper early rotation.
Tempo + tells ⏱️: offense tightened motions and cadence to stress rule-of-three defenders; defense drilled “finish the ball” (PBUs → picks).
OL chemistry 🧱: interior combos repped like crazy; staff feels good about the “top eight” rolling as one.
What it means for Kent State: Expect tempo, horizontal stress, and early touches for the speed package—Lucas, Danzy, Kromah—with Duce dictating matchups. On D, more bodies, more havoc, fewer freebies.
📋 Two-Deep Vibes (offense first)
Earl Little Jr. thinks freshman RB Ousmane Kromah is different 👀
“He’s gonna be a problem… I’m dead serious.
Ous [Ousmane Kromah] is a freak bro. Y’all just getting a little glimpse of what he can do. I’m telling you, he’s different.”

QB: Tommy “steady pulse” Castellanos, with packages ready for the youngsters.
RB: Sawchuk’s the metronome; Lucas = explosives; Kromah = contact balance; Holmes/Davis = fresh legs.
WR/TE: Duce + Squirrel + Boggs headline; Danzy’s role keeps expanding; Randy Pittman Jr.’s room leans on Landen Thomas/Amaree Williams in the red zone.
OL: Five starters settling in, but the rotation is real—don’t be shocked if drive 3 looks different than drive 9.
🔁 Recruiting — Kent State Visitor Wave (and a few tea leaves)
Tells me he will visit #FSU next week for the Kent State game:
— Matt LaSerre (@LaserreMatt)
6:02 PM • Sep 14, 2025
Front-seven first: EDGE/JACK and LB boards drive the weekend—FSU wants length and closing speed.
Bookend alert: OT targets remain priority No. 1A; staff is patient but persistent heading into October decisions.
2027 skill glow-up: Several underclass burners are set to return; Doak under the lights has been closing the sale all summer.
Flip radar: A couple Sunshine State pledges elsewhere are suddenly “listening.” Win the game, win the room.
🎯 What to Watch vs. Kent State (fast five)
Early down efficiency → live in 2nd-and-manageable, keep the whole call sheet on the table.
Explosives without turnovers → same fireworks, zero gifts.
Third-level tackling → limit YAC and QB scrambles; finish at the sideline.
Return game → one hidden-yardage swing per half.
Rotation discipline → young legs, veteran poise.
A pro traders #1 rule when trading options
Scott Redler has spent 30 years mastering one thing: sticking to a proven strategy. And with over 200k followers, he’s helped others trade stocks.
Now, he’s finally cracking open his options playbook for the masses to see. That’s because volatility in the markets makes options a winning strategy. Plus a recent 423% winner on BABA in 1 day! It’s about understanding risk vs. reward.
Scott is sharing exactly how he does it in a free report & 15-minute video.

Another week of heavy possession, shot volume, and clean goalkeeping.
Set-piece execution is quietly elite again; the winger group is rotating without a dip in tempo.
ACC slate tightens now—expect minutes to get spikier and subs more matchup-driven.
(Championship habits travel. This group has them.)

Pressure points: aggressive tosses and tough zones forced bad passes all week.
First-contact clean: sideout numbers climbed; connection with the middles keeps improving.
Rotation watch: pins are deep, libero battle making everyone sharper. Bring on the next TV window. 📺
🔟 Ten Who Tilt It (Kent State edition)
A ton of "culture plays" from FSU's blowout win over ETAM.
But one of my favorites was seeing the reaction from Justin Cryer and Elijah Herring on the sideline when Ashton Bracewell got this 4th-down stop.

Offense: Tommy Castellanos, Duce Robinson, Squirrel White, Gavin Sawchuk, Jaylin Lucas
Defense/Special: Darrell Jackson Jr., Daniel Lyons, Earl Little Jr., Jeremiah “Jerry” Wilson, and the KR/PR unit as a whole
If these ten touch the ball early and often (or force you to avoid them), the score takes care of itself. ✍️

🧠 Film room: more bunch/stacks to free Squirrel and flood zones; expect a few “shot with a checkdown” looks early.
🏟️ Doak flow: operations dialed—gate times, concessions, and in-game hits felt smoother last home date.
🏀 Hoops recruiting: length + shooting remains the theme; OV calendar is stacked for October.
⚾ Baseball: portal board still active on late bats/arms; fall ball = role clarity month.
📅 On Deck (Sept 16–23, ET)

Tue–Thu: Final install, special-teams polish, travel squad set.
Fri: Walk-throughs & captains; situational scripts locked.
Sat: Kent State at Doak 🕛 — stack style points, stack snaps for the twos and threes.
Sun–Mon: Recovery + corrections; recruiting follow-ups ring.
✍️ Sign-Off
Two weeks proved the ceiling; this week is about the floor. Clean, ruthless, and deep—that’s the ask. Fuel the War Chant, protect the rock, and let the rotation roll.
Stay locked, stay loud, and — Go Noles! 🔱🔥
